Inns in Kunshan

I visited Zhouzhuang over the weekend, originally planning to finish in one day, but then decided to stay overnight and found this guesthouse. The location was excellent, right in the heart of the scenic area, very convenient. It has its own courtyard, with an elegant and cozy layout that perfectly captures the authentic charm of a traditional Jiangnan town. Waking up to birdsong and sitting quietly in meditation was incredibly pleasant. The room was clean and spacious, and I slept very well. I especially want to mention that the owner is a very kind and helpful person.

Joy Stay deserves more than a 10-star rating! The location is superb, right inside Zhouzhuang, and the room is brand new and extremely hygienic. The owner is incredibly enthusiastic, he recommended excellent local restaurants, drove us to the bus stop, and most importantly, he helped my friend retrieve her passport that was left on the bus. I would definitely stay here again.

The bedding is comfortable, the south facing the river sun room, the feeling of the pillow river people, getting up in the morning, the birds and flowers are fragrant, hidden in the treasure homestay in the countryside! The boss contacted me in advance to remind me that booking tickets online is more favorable, and also sent a direct location to the parking lot. The staff at the hotel is very attentive! Arrived in the afternoon to check in, 10 minutes drive to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, very convenient.

The front desk service is warm and efficient, patiently answering questions, and full of intimacy. The room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete and well maintained, the bedding is soft and comfortable, the bathroom is designed to separate dry and wet, and the quality of toiletries is online. The view outside the window is wide, and the night is quiet and undisturbed, ensuring high-quality sleep. The breakfast is rich in Chinese and Western styles, and the ingredients are fresh and delicious, satisfying a variety of tastes. Whether it is a business trip or a tourist holiday, it is the best choice, and the next visit must be preferred!

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket. 

I cannot recommend this place enough, like living inside a magical fairytale! Zhouzhuang itself is one of the most beautiful places I've visited, and getting to live in a hotel that looks right out of history but with all modern comforts was such a special experience! The room was spacious and beautiful, with large, comfortable beds, and a nice, big clean bathroom. Outside it was a beautiful courtyard with a large osmanthus tree in full bloom, the scent perfuming the air whenever we left the door open. The owner, Fei, was super friendly and helpful - we communicated through the hotel's wechat beforehand and she came to meet us at the nearest gate to the ancient town to help guide us through getting tickets, and then helping us carry our luggage to the hotel. On the day we left it was raining, and not only did the hotel staff carry our luggage back outside the town, we were given umbrellas to keep so we wouldn't get wet while waiting for our didi ride. The hotel itself doesn't serve breakfast, but there are lots of restaurants and little snack shops and juice bars around, so finding delicious things to eat and drink is easy. We stayed here while heading over to Suzhou to visit the gardens, it's about an hour's taxi drive away. A very immersive cultural experience! A magical stay all around, I really hope I will be able to come back and visit again one day!

This hotel earns a lot of points for novelty value, the design is enchanting and unforgettable. It is an oasis of tranquility, yet only ten minutes walk from the vibrant ancient water town. Breakfast is quaint and delicate rather than hearty and wholesome, but perfectly in sync with the zen vibe which the establishment oozes. Challenging to encounter but wonderfully worthwhile..

The hotel is in a good location, right inside the scenic area. It is clean and tidy, the facilities are very new, the service attitude is very good, and the cost performance is very high. It is worth staying. I forgot to take pictures. The only small drawback is that it is a renovation of an old house in the ancient town. The floor leather looks a bit old, and I am cautious with mysophobia. However, the cost performance is very high, less than 100, which is not more extravagant in the ancient town. Thanks to the boss for his enthusiastic service.

The location is excellent, just next to Shen Wansan Shuiyu, very close to the entrance of the ancient town. The price is there, and the facilities, sanitation and environment need to be improved. The toilet setting of the single bathroom is not convenient, and the toilet can be sideways. The overall price is better.

The location is moderate and quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The owner is an approachable and easy-going person born in the 90s (the inn is self-service 24 hours a day). He interacts well with the guests... After the epidemic... it will not be easy for everyone. It is suitable for short stays and in-depth travel. Cherish the fate... I hope everyone is safe and smooth, and all your wishes come true. Ps. The Quanfu Building next door can provide simple meals according to personal needs.
