"Service: was really good. The receptionist lady gave us a lot of helpful information and was constantly available. I was really grateful for the service. Our rooms were cleaned daily, we got fresh water and towels. She also helped us get a ride to the train station, as there are limited drivers in this area (plan your departure ahead of time).
Room: the room has an amazing view. We enjoyed the balcony so much that we spent a lot of time there just taking in the scenery and enjoying ourselves. At night it looked even better. We visited during peak season (international workers holiday) and still the room was relatively quiet at night. Everything was exceptionally clean. The rain shower was appreciated as well. We also got vanity kits and so on. The bathroom is a little small for people over 190 cm (you should be fine if you are shorter).
The bed was comfortable and big. The only thing we missed was a Minibar (or fridge). The TV unfortunately wasn't a smart TV.
Location: the hotel is located in the central city. You won't miss a thing. There are restaurants nearby and all sorts of scenic spots. If you go outside, turn left and walk until the end of the street you'll even find a shop offering coffee ☕ (which is quite rare)."

"This is a wonderful hotel to stay at when visiting Fenghuang. Its about 15min taxi ride from train station and right to the hotel front door for 26 yuan. The staff are super friendly and helpful - communicate to them via wechat. I had a 25kg suitcase and staff carried it up 2 flights of stairs for me, theres no lift. The room and view is as pictured - has everything you need for a pleasant stay.
1 full day is enough to see everything - started around 10.30am and went back to hotel by 4.30pm to shower and rest then ventured out after 7pm for dinner and the night lights... got back at 10.30pm. If you pay extra to visit the local historical attractions and watch the show then its best to stay 2 nights - I just wandered the streets, ate and shopped. Theres some very nice and cheap souvenirs here! I really enjoyed my time in Fenghuang thanks to the hotel and staff. Simply amazing! Highly recommend this hotel. It may look far from ancient town centre on the map but only 10min walk. Wear comfy shoes, you will get a good workout exploring here!"

"This establishment，the staff and boss are very helpful.Staff greeted us on the rainbow bridge and brought us to the room. When we checked out, a similar service was given and she helped to book a cab to the station.
The room is a little small but very cosy, the view at this place is magnificent with the river view. Try sleeping early is a bit of a problem due to pubs on the opposite side. On the whole I would still come back to stay here."

We’re so grateful for the incredibly helpful inn manager who assisted us in so many ways—from before our arrival right through to arranging a taxi to the train station after checkout. We only stayed one night, but the location was perfect, and the balcony views were stunning. Our room was a bit small for four people, but it was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and we felt safe and at ease throughout our stay. Great value for money—and the heated toilet seats were a much-appreciated bonus!

Excellent value perfectly located in the heart of a river town, insects are part of the setting but the mosquito coil thoughtfully provided by the hosts made my room comfortable. The room might seem small but it generously covers a lot of amenities; WiFi is a bit slow at times.
The hosts were equally helpful with travel logistics, suggesting transport options before my arrival and assisting my suitcase to the bus station on departure to avoid the pricey taxis. Along the way, the young host lady shared insights into Miao traditional dress, adding a meaningful cultural touch.

"Based on other travelers' reviews, I ultimately decided on this guesthouse. Its location is excellent – just a few seconds after turning left from Nanhua Gate. If you're driving, you can pull right up to the entrance, and the owner will personally guide you to the parking lot. As soon as we stepped out of the car, a staff member was there to help with our luggage.
We booked a triple room with a terrace. The elevator goes up to the fourth floor, so we had to walk one flight of stairs to reach our room. However, upon seeing the spacious terrace and unobstructed views, I was absolutely delighted. Having compared the terrace views of other places nearby, this one was truly ideal – a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle.
It was very pleasant to enjoy a beer on the terrace in the evening, cooling off, but a sudden heavy downpour interrupted us. Although there was an awning for shelter, the rain was simply too heavy. In the middle of the night, with the rain beating down on the roof, I initially thought I wouldn't be able to sleep, but surprisingly, it turned into soothing white noise."

"Beautiful Location and Warm Hospitality
We had a wonderful stay at Fenghuang Best River View Hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location, offering a stunning view over the old town and the river – especially magical in the early morning or at night when the city lights reflect on the water.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. It's true that you have to climb a fairly steep staircase to reach the hotel, but this was no problem at all – the staff carried our luggage up for us, which we really appreciated.
The combination of the amazing views, excellent service, and charming atmosphere made our stay here truly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Fenghuang!"

"We stayed for 3 nights. As it is the off-season now, we basically booked the whole B&B, which was a bit embarrassing 😂😂. The location is a little hard to find, but the owner will call ahead to greet you. The room balcony has a beautiful view. The boss is very nice and always answers any questions I have. During the trip, I asked him to recommend transportation, restaurants and travel photography shops to help me avoid any pitfalls. The boss also helped me buy tickets for the ”Phoenix Show”, which were cheaper than outside."

LLimmlThe service is excellent. I give it 10 stars. It feels like home. When we returned late at night, the owner was still waiting for us. We couldn't get a taxi to the maglev subway station, so the owner personally arranged one. The location of the hotel is also excellent.

GGuest UserThis is a newly opened guesthouse. The rooms are quite spacious with a great layout. The two beds are thoughtfully arranged, ensuring guests can sleep undisturbed. The room's cleanliness and facilities are excellent, including a smart toilet and central air conditioning. There's also a decent-sized balcony offering wonderful views of the ancient town and the Tuojiang River, perfect for enjoying a cup of tea in the evening.
The guesthouse is conveniently located just over 100 meters from Nanhua Bridge, making it incredibly easy to access the ancient town. We chose this place because vehicles aren't allowed inside the ancient town and it can get quite noisy at night. Here, it's super convenient as cars can drive directly to the entrance, and it's wonderfully quiet.
Finally, I have to give a huge shout-out to the landlady's service; it was truly exceptional and incredibly thoughtful. She picked us up directly from the high-speed train station, helped with our luggage, gave us directions, and even recommended local delicacies. When we checked out, she surprised us with some local specialty snacks! Even though we only stayed for one day, our experience was absolutely fantastic.
I wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse to anyone planning a trip to Fenghuang Ancient Town!!!

The room was exquisite.
We loved the terrace. The seats were very comfortable and we had a great view.
Cherry on top we could see a fantastic show at night.
We could also enjoy the sight of the dragon boat at night.
Bare in mind that there is no pickup from the train station. But you can take the subway and they'll come and pick you up. If your party counts 4 members, I recommend taking a cab or a didi (just like the hotel recommended us).
That said, we were given free rides to visit the city.
They can also arrange a car for you to visit other sites (paying service).
We had huge and high quality towels as well as disposable hand towels.
The toilet was a washlet like the ones we have in Japan.
The hotel was very clean. Unfortunately, they were some remodeling going on on the first floor when we stayed there and the smell of the solvent was unpleasant.
They did not have enough sitting to accommodate proper sitting for everyone but we took our breakfast up to our private terrace and enjoyed it very much.
The breakfast is a set breakfast. We could choose between 2 types of Chinese breakfast.
I can't say that I loved the breakfast but it was nice.
You can arrange it with many sauces, condiments and plenty of fresh chives and cilantro.
You can even ask for seconds.
The butler was very kind and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff as a matter of fact.
They also have a washing machine that you can use for free but you have to take care of the drying yourself.
My family and I got sick from a previous food intoxication and we were happy that we stayed in such a nice hotel.
Fenghuang old city is very festive so it can get noisy at night but the terrace's windows are of very good quality, therefore it did not bother us much. It is possible that you can hear your neighbors though.
All in all, despite being sick we had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We were happily surprised to receive a farewell gift.
We definitely recommend the place and we go back to this hotel without hesitation.

DDoujameiI had a great stay. Hotel is situated on the outskirts of the Ancient town, 20 mins walking distance, accessible by the river, bus, taxi or scooter.
There is no DiDi available when we arrived. I really hope that will changed. The schedule of the buses are not displayed. However, when standing on the street, we had scooter taxi stopping for us. A ride to the Ancient city is ¥7. They did over charged us but we were happy to finally get out under the scorching sun, so we didn’t mind. All the taxis passing by us were fully booked.
The hotel is great and new. They were doing some refurbishment so the swimming pool was not open. Despite that, the room was as shown on the pictures, very clean and spacious. They provided mosquitoes racket and plug in. There were a lot of mosquitoes and flies, in the corridor. be aware bring your sprays too. Same in town too.
The receptionists were really good and very helpful during the entire stay. They added us on WeChat and we could communicate like that. They help us ordering a taxi on the departure day.
The hotel is a good location but the lack of transport makes it hard to get to the Ancient town above when it so hot outside.
The bed was soft and nice to sleep in. The air conditioning was properly working. The cleaning service was great. Daily cleaning and they were waiting for us to be out to clean.
The welcome fruits basket were delicious. I didn’t make it for breakfast.
We were able to wash our clothes and air dry them. Quicker than a dryer.
I had an excellent stay there.

PPaowoahTraveled in December, it was nice for us as there wasn’t a lot of people. Really easy to communicate with them through Wechat. They got us a car for train station pick up and drop off. Upon arriving, someone came out to get us. It’s a flight of stairs down first (they offer to help with luggage) but would say to pack light because we were struggling. It’s a couple minutes walk to the place, I believe they have two, so depends which one they bring you to?
We got the connecting rooms via balcony. It was nice because it was two rooms and each room had its own bathroom. We were able to see the water bridge (I believe) right outside the balcony which was nice. Good thing we were just on the first floor so with our luggages, stairs wasn’t too bad. Since it was not peak season, even with the bar nearby, it was not too loud for us at night. There’s some restaurants and photoshoot shops nearby as well. We did the photoshoot store right next to this stay and it was just ok for reference, feel like you can get cheaper elsewhere.
Everything was pretty clean but there were some issues. Since it was December, it was cold. And when we first arrived, there was no hot water (just all freezing cold water). They said water heater was just cleaned or something when I asked. They said hot water should be back at night but our water when we showered wasn’t too promising. And then the heater was barely warming up the room so we were basically freezing. We took out all our jackets and all and we were still cold. Our room door to the balcony window was also broken which I was frustrated at first since it was cold, no hot water, heater not working, cold air blowing in. They eventually fixed it and I did appreciate the lady giving us portable heaters for the room to use.
Overall, I think it’s not a bad place.

Staffs are very nice, friendly and helpful. They gave us welcome fruit and maps and offering support throughout the stays. Rooms are clean and big. Breakfast is good with various local meals. When we are about to leave the hotel, they arranged drop off to station for free and even gave us some local food to bring. What a pleasant surprise. We really enjoy beautiful Feng huang while staying there. Thank you all Xiangxi staffs for giving us wonderful experience.

SShane CanadianGood location if you want to be near the ancient town, but in a quiet spot. The main bus stop is right outside the hotel and the ancient town is about a two minute walk. Room is large and modern and bed is comfortable. You won't have much of a view on the backside of the hotel, and the front is likely to be a bit noisy with the bus stop during the day and the Aunties dancing in the square in the evening. It was nice that they gave a parting gift of local delicacies when we checked out.
A few improvements needed:
1. Hooks, or hanging racks, for towels at the shower and the sink. There is no way to dry a towel after a shower.
2. Wash cloth. For a nice hotel, a wash cloth (or face cloth) should be provided. They are not expensive.
3. The water in the shower will be affected by the toilet flushing and the sink faucet. It will get very hot. Quite a surprise given that this is a new hotel.
4. Car service, especially to the train station. We asked the front desk to call us a taxi. Their response was to walk us to the main road, which is likely 300 to 400 metres. Not ideal with two suitcases and several bags of merchandise. It also took some time to get a taxi, which made us start to worry that we might not arrive in time for our train. Note that when you arrive at the drop off are for the train station, it is quite a long walk across a square to the station itself. Be sure to leave an extra 5 minutes for this.
5. Communication. When communicating with the hotel prior to arrival, we asked for a room on the top floor, which is the 5th floor. We were assured this would be arranged. However, on arriving at the hotel, we were initially assigned a room on the 4th floor. We mentioned the earlier conversation and were initially told there were no rooms available on the 5th floor. It wasn't until another attendant arrived, and seemed to check a chat history on the computer, that we were given a room on the 5th floor.
6. Sound insulation. While the room is quiet, the noise from the hallway can be easily heard due to poor insulation around the doors.
All in all a good stay but some improvements needed.

EEatPrayTravelPros: very quick in addressing issues. One day there was no hot water and the hotel responded in a very short time and remedied the problem. Also hotel did a courtesy drop off to a local bus station, which was greatly appreciated. It was an uphill climb and would have been a challenge with luggage. Hotel location was quiet. Heating, water pressure and hot water all very good. Hotel staff also gave us a restaurant recommendation which was very good. Breakfast was good.
Cons: don’t be fooled by the description of 180 degree view of the river. It has two buildings on both sides blocking the view, as we found out after checking in. The walk to the ancient village is about 10 minutes from the Hotel, and longer on the way back because there is a bit of uphill climb.

XXiaoyu？xiaoyu！It is strongly recommended that if it is a birdcage room, it is better for one person!
If you want normal comfort! You must have enough money to get a big room!
The whole hotel is distributed in the ”Shenfeng Scenic Area”, with small bird cages and big houses in a unique shape! Very interesting! It's just that some of the infrastructure in the birdcage room will be very poor, but the big room (expensive) is much better. In addition, it takes a lot of physical strength to enter and exit the hotel (except for the elevator at the beginning).
You can visit the Shenfeng Scenic Area in your spare time, and there is also a light show at night in the Shenfeng Temple Square not far away (high), and there are performances when the weather is good!
It is worth mentioning that the ”breakfast”! I read other people's comments that the breakfast is very bad. But my experience is really good.
”Steamed” eggs are definitely better than outside.
Steamed dumplings are also very delicious!
Cabbage is just as good! There is no feeling of being particularly bad.
The most surprising and interesting thing is the cartoons on the connecting corridors between the various guest rooms in the hotel. There is also a twelve zodiac trail! (There is no way at the end, so you need to go back)
Oh, by the way! There are real peacocks in the high-rise area of the scenic area (higher than the Shenfeng Temple Square)! Alive!
There is also a large area of ”pompom flowers” in an area called ”Flying Bird Camp”.
The entire scenic area can be visited in 2 hours (my hiking ability)! And it was in the rain! There was no one! I felt like I had entered the ”fairyland” because there was really no one except me. Oh! Be careful of snakes, I didn't encounter any (fortunately)! I didn't go to the Nanhua Temple at the highest point, and it was definitely not because I was too tired to climb up, but because there was a locked door and no one opened it.
