The location of the B&B is a first-line river view. This B&B is really great and makes people feel at home! The lady was very enthusiastic and picked us up at Hongqiao, the entrance to the ancient city. She will tell you the travel guide and recommend the Phoenix Evening Show, which is very beautiful and cost-effective! The room is spacious and bright. I like the hanging basket on their balcony the most. It is the best location to see the night view. It is worth recommending!

Small room but with great design. Love the balcony oversee the river and bridge. Great spot to hang out during cold season. Lady boss greeted us by helping to carry our luggage, suggest us places to go, shops to visit and dressing costumes. Downside is water takes some time to be hot (both sink and shower). Overall a good stay. Very happening area.

Love everything about this hotel. The reception guy was very friendly and very helpful. The room is clean and beautiful. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk to heart of Fenghuang but we dont feel its far at all because there are so many local stalls, shops and restaurants for us to look at along the way. The hotel do not provide a breakfast but on the main street which is 2 minutes walk from the hotel have so many local restaurants which serves Chinese style breakfast. Nice thing about this hotel is we can get the taxi from the train station to the front of the hotel which means we don’t have to drag our luggage far. Every staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. Like us, if you dont speak Chinese, you can add the hotel wechat to communicate with the staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Fenghung. We like this hotel a lot and will come back to stay here again

We had a big room with a very big bed. The bathroom was big with a self-flushing toilet and toilet seat warmer! One wall of the room was just glass so we had a good view out, over some old roofs and windows, and a far view of lovely builidings on a hill. We had a long and narrow balcony with a view of the river, pagoda and bridges. Right below was the bustling street scene near the Hong Qiaio (Rainbow Bridge). The balcony has a couple of hanging bubble seats and even a small table and chairs. Just perfect for viewing the amazing night scenery and people-watch. (Based on an earlier review, we knew the noise stopped at 11.30pm so we had good nights' sleep). We were very comfortable and happy with our room. It was just a short walk from the shops outside the Ancient Town, so we could enjoy both sides of Feng Huang. The entrance to the hostel is hidden behind a costume rental shop, so it's a little tricky to find. The hostel also has a water dispenser for filling up water bottles. All I can say is the location is just the best for watching the comings and goings in the streets, with easy access for walking along the riverside, pagoda, bridges, viewing the performances on the river...yet near enough to pop into our comfy room to recharge.

Traveled in December, it was nice for us as there wasn’t a lot of people. Really easy to communicate with them through Wechat. They got us a car for train station pick up and drop off. Upon arriving, someone came out to get us. It’s a flight of stairs down first (they offer to help with luggage) but would say to pack light because we were struggling. It’s a couple minutes walk to the place, I believe they have two, so depends which one they bring you to? We got the connecting rooms via balcony. It was nice because it was two rooms and each room had its own bathroom. We were able to see the water bridge (I believe) right outside the balcony which was nice. Good thing we were just on the first floor so with our luggages, stairs wasn’t too bad. Since it was not peak season, even with the bar nearby, it was not too loud for us at night. There’s some restaurants and photoshoot shops nearby as well. We did the photoshoot store right next to this stay and it was just ok for reference, feel like you can get cheaper elsewhere. Everything was pretty clean but there were some issues. Since it was December, it was cold. And when we first arrived, there was no hot water (just all freezing cold water). They said water heater was just cleaned or something when I asked. They said hot water should be back at night but our water when we showered wasn’t too promising. And then the heater was barely warming up the room so we were basically freezing. We took out all our jackets and all and we were still cold. Our room door to the balcony window was also broken which I was frustrated at first since it was cold, no hot water, heater not working, cold air blowing in. They eventually fixed it and I did appreciate the lady giving us portable heaters for the room to use. Overall, I think it’s not a bad place.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel with thoughtful and personalized service. The butler was incredibly helpful, sharing detailed tips on exploring Phoenix Ancient Town and even booking a river ride tour for us, which was a highlight of our trip. The hotel also provided a unique Miao costume service, adding a cultural touch to our experience. To our surprise, we received a lovely small souvenir upon checkout, which was a sweet gesture. They also assisted in booking a ride-hailing service for our departure, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free journey. Overall, the attention to detail and exceptional service made this stay memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Phoenix Ancient Town!

The service was very good. The guy at the front desk showed us how to get to the hotel through a video. It was actually very easy to find. It was right by the river. We went the wrong way. Haha. It was very convenient for eating, drinking and having fun. It was only 200m away from the central scenic area. The room was clean and there was a big terrace upstairs. It was great. I will recommend it to my friends and family when I go back.

I was expecting something better for the price. The room had a number of problems: 1. There was no-where to put your luggage off the floor. The room requires several additional tables/benches for luggage (it is large enough to accommodate these). 2. The shower door didn’t close properly and thus water spilt onto the floor when you showered. There was no bath mat, so I used one of the towels provided (less than ideal). 3. There was no soap in the bathroom. 4. The biggest problem was that there was a large piece of equipment outside the room (I don’t know what its purpose was) that would periodically come on and filled the room with a low pitched humming noise - very annoying if you’re trying to sleep without ear plugs.

Mengyuan tuojiang is located centrally along the riverside. The navigation on google maps may not be very precise and you may need to contact the lady boss or seek help from the locals to ask around for directions to the beibian street. The inn has a good window view and you can hear great live mandopop playing at the opposite stretch until 11pm. The lady boss, fangfang, was hospitable and gave great service. I had forgotten to bring my travel adaptor and she was helpful in lending me hers during my stay. She also gave free complimentary ginger candy that the locals eat. The room has a great view and is worth the price. There is an automatic toilet. The staff is very helpful. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the entrance. Overall, I am very impressed. We went in early January. The temperature was about 1-7 degrees. Overall, it was very cool.
