What a delightful B&B! Charming, tasteful touches of Scotland throughout the establishment add to a warm and welcoming scene. Our room (#11) can accommodate 4 - including bunk beds. Even the lampshades are made from authentic Scottish T****. The hosts thought of everything. From tea and biscuits, to QR codes for WiFi connection, local map, and breakfast menu. The breakfast room is bright with large windows and the servers were all pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious and filled us for a full day of exploring. Parking is tight but off street, allowing for east access to things if needed. The stroll into town for the evening took us alongside the rushing river, across the beautifully lit bridge, and in the heart of pubs, restaurants, and shopping. It was incredibly convenient. Fabulous place, people, food— we will be back!

The BEST hotel I have ever stayed in, the service was second to none special mention to Tracy on reception and the concierge, they made our experience one to remember! We felt like vips, I actually couldn’t fault the hotel, and will be highly recommending my clients to book here, and I personally cannot wait to go back! @elsdestinations

We visited inverness for a short time and we honestly couldn’t of had an easier accommodation experience, the staff are very friendly and attentive to your every need, when we first arrived they upgraded our room for free and let us check in early further more when we wanted breakfast in the morning it only cost us £10 a head and they offer a wide range of breakfast options, when we checked out they also let us keep our bags at the house whilst we spent our last few hours exploring the city. Highly recommend, priced well too.

The room is spacious and clean. The only hiccup was that, at first, we got a room with a double bed despite booking a family room on Trip.com. When I asked the reception staff, she said there was no family room per se in the building, and in the booking that they had, it didn't say that I wanted a family room or how many people would be sleeping in the room. For them, a family room is a room with a double bed and an extra bed. The staff managed to change our room to one with an extra bed ready, so it wasn't a problem.

Friendly and efficient staff. Room was large and comfortable. Decor perhaps a little tired but we e were lucky enough to have a river view. Breakfast very nice but not such a fan of the tick box menu. The time it takes for staff to explain, check and make any amendments could be spent just taking order. I can understand that it is more convenient for the wait staff though in busy periods or with large groups.

The hotel is old, living up to the local architecture, however its facilities are in perfect condition. I found a call! Very polite attendants. There is no private parking, but it didn't work. There is a public car park a few meters away which charges £5 per day.

We stayed at The Penta from Sunday, July 17 through Thursday July 21, 2022. That Monday, we had a private tour of the Isle of Skye, and got back to the hotel at about 8:30 PM. We were tired and went to the hotel restaurant for dinner at about 8:50 PM, right before it closed. My wife ordered salmon. Huge mistake. At home, we would never order fish on a Monday, and especially not during a heat wave. But, we were on holiday and let our guard down. My wife is a physician (internal medicine), and based on the timing and severity of her symptoms, as well as her prior meal, she is extremely confident the salmon was bad. (My son and I ate burgers.) The next two days were a nightmare. She was in bed all day Tuesday, alternating between vomiting and violent, putrid diarrhea. We had a private tour booked to Glencoe on Wednesday, and were so thankful that it was not a bus tour. Our guide, Andy, stopped often for her, but we finally had to cut the tour short. This was truly disappointing as we flew to Scotland from NY for this vacation. I informed the chef of our suspicion on Wednesday evening. He told me he did not work on Monday night, but would look into it. He seemed genuinely sympathetic, but I never heard back. I also informed the front desk staff, who were similarly sympathetic, but I heard nothing from them, either. I was really disappointed by the utter lack of follow-up. Food poisoning is a serious health concern, and everybody apparently blew it off. If you are considering staying here, let me provide an honest assessment of the hotel below. Restaurant (F) See above. It earned this failing grade. Staff (B-) Over our stay, I interacted with four or five people, and they could not have been more polite and helpful EXCEPT FOR THE UTTER LACK OF ATTENTION TO OUR FOOD POISONING REPORT. i asked for a fan because the hotel, like most in the city, has no a/c. They provided two, which really helped. They were all friendly and nice. I would give the staff a solid A were it not for the food poisoning incident. Amenities (A+) The hotel bar is nice, and features a pool table and very ample, comfortable seating, including couches and tables. I enjoyed playing pool with my son while my wife recuperated in bed. The lounge bathrooms were modern, large, and spotless. The fitness center is quite good, with everything you need for a decent workout, and even has a tv and sound system. Plus, you can reserve the room for an hour. Location (A+) The Penta is a 5-minute walk from the train station, and is really close to wonderful pubs, restaurants, shops, etc. You can walk everywhere you need to be. Room (C-) We paid for the premium room, but there was absolutely nothing premium about it. The room was small, much smaller than we expected after looking at the photos online, and very, very sp****. There are no closets, so you get to hang your clothes on a hipster metal pipe that is attached to a desk. That said, the room was clean and serviced n

After having two bookings cancelled over the last two years, we finally got to make our trip back to Inverness arriving on the 8th March for two nights as a birthday treat. We were booked on a great package for a two night stay that included breakfast, two course dinner for one night, afternoon tea and a free cocktail at dinner. Check in was easy and we received friendly service from the reception staff, who stored our bags for us until the room was ready, due to us having arrived early on the Caledonian Sleeper train. Our accommodation was in a Royal room which was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfy and super king in size. The afternoon tea was quite nice, with tasty sandwiches etc, but the evening meal in our opinion was exceptional, with very attentive service from the restaurant staff. We had the steak (where there was a supplement) and the salmon, which was absolutely piping hot and just so delicious. The crème brûlée for our deserts were also really enjoyable. There were a list of cocktails to choose from, and you could exchange for wine beer or cider if preferred. The hot breakfast the next morning also was delicious, very tasty and well cooked, and mine had gorgeous scrambled eggs. You could help yourself to juices, drinks and buffet offerings like cereals and pastries etc. The staff overall all provide brilliant, friendly and efficient service after what must have been an horrendous two years. One lady in particular that oversees breakfast, provides exceptional service. Yes this hotel is dated, (if I was being really picky then I’d say some furniture needs replacing), but it adds to the character and charm somehow, and we just love it. This is the second time we’ve stayed here, and certainly will again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

GGuest UserLocated five minutes outside of Drumnadrochit, but the owner gave us excellent directions and we found it without a problem. You do need to drive to find somewhere to eat (and there’s very limited choice in the evenings), but the owners recommended the Loch Ness Inn which we dropped in to before arrival and the food and beer were excellent Warm friendly welcome by the lady of the house, showed us around and explained everything. Room was excellent – very spacious and all controlled by Amazon Echo (including the heating). View from our window was across Loch Meiklie and there were even binoculars in the room for a better view. Coffee / tea making facilities with an array of snacks to help ourselves to if we wanted. Bathroom was great with large walk in shower. Bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was continental only, but it was stunning. Wide range of pastries, cereal, fruit etc with a selection of cold meats and different cheeses – one of our favourite breakfasts of our two weeks in Scotland. The hosts Stu and his wife were first class – excellent conversation over breakfast Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again if we’re ever in this part of the country.

GGuest UserGenerally acceptable and clean hotel. However, I was almost tricked by being given a room that’s “HALF-CUT” by the rooftop. Essentially an attic (picture 1) at first. There are actually plenty of normal empty rooms being cleaned as I could see walking to the elevator. I asked the front desk if I could be re-arranged and they gave me another room. Pretty bad experience as I felt discriminated and tricked for unknown reason. I asked a fellow customer who checked in around the same day and he didn’t get allocated the attic room.

GGuest UserExcellent hostel! Great common self-catering facilities; there were two full kitchens with plenty of tables and seating so multiple parties could be cooking at a time. Staff were very helpful and let me leave my bag before check-in and after check-out to accommodate my bus times. The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms.

GGuest UserA previous reviewer was really down on the King's Club which is a newer adjunct to the older Kingsmill Hotel where the main dining room and bar are located. I'm not sure if we could both be reviewing the same place. First of all I found the staff very helpful and nor clueless as suggested. The rooms are quite nice and I really enjoyed the outdoor patio with the Inverness golf course only a few feet away. Watching and chatting with passing golfers and dog walkers was a bonus. The room was spacious with a very nice bathroom which had a separate bathtub & shower. The breakfast buffet was quite nice if not over the top and the fruit was not old as suggested and the eggs were not disgusting. In fact they were presented exactly as at the Gleneagles resort which is definitely five star. It was an easy fifteen minute walk into the heart of Inverness. Overall I would certainly recommend the King's Club.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is far from the city center, but it is convenient for self-driving and has a good environment. The room is old and old-fashioned, with poor sound insulation, but it is still relatively clean. The breakfast is more English, but also has Scottish characteristics, with several different choices. I had dinner once in the hotel, and it felt average, not worth recommending.

We arrived to be let in immediately, we were expected. William gave us the run down of the place and room and even carried one of the bags up. The front room was surprisingly quiet for being on a main road. Had a very comfortable sleep for 4 nights. Good breakfast, choose a time between 7:30 and 9 which is pretty fair. Cooked to order with continental as well. Kate talked to each guest, at least at the 1st breakfast and is a very nice lady. Location is good, an easy walk into town. Parking on-site, enough for 1 car per room.

GGuest UserGood breakfast, very helpful front desk staff, good beds and pillows, bathroom small but efficient. Toiletries minimal, but workable. Broken light fixed quickly. But the overriding issue was noise from neighbours, primarily due to thin walls. TV from one side early in the morning, and late night conversation on the other side. I don’t think they were unreasonable— just the sound insulation was poor.

GGuest UserReally disappointing experience compared with the photos displayed on their website. Here on business for four nights. On my first night I was allocated a room with a connecting door, the guests next door returned to the hotel around 11.30pm and played music till 3am. It felt like they were in the room with me. I honestly don’t think they were that loud, just absolutely no sound proofing in the room. I requested a room change as I had confidential calls to make, the reception quickly allocated another room for me, but based on the accommodation areas it is just a very tired hotel. Tight entrance into room and toilet area. Have to say lovely breakfast and food in the restaurant was good, as are the staff. Sorry would not choose to return.

GGuest UserWe paid a ridiculous sum for two nights in this hotel and for the price breakfast wasn't even included, the swimming pool was small and on day 1 half if it was being used for private lessons and day 2 is was closed due to 'lack of chlorine' We booked because it had a pool. The menu was not very inspiring and we could hear other guests complaining loudly about the food so we got take out. The bar shut at 10.15 on friday night and two drinks was £15.00. The carpet had a stain which looked like a clean could have sorted and breakfast was cold, expensive and the orange juice was watered down and awful. The grout round the sink looked like it had been done by a 2 year old. To top it all the room was hot and there was some terrible noise from traffic and possibly an air conditioning unit or such like so despite the earplugs got very little sleep. Total waste of money! The only good points were the staff were not rude, and it had a jacuzzi and steam room when it was open.

GGuest UserOk so it’s a hostel ! But in this day and age i expect it to be cleaned between the different parties staying here ! It’s more than just the bedding needs changed and cleaned regularly ! Ok guests please keep the kitchen clean and tidy well it didn’t happen and the mould in the fridge and the general cleanliness of shared areas left a lot to be desired !! Sorry regardless of it being our responsibility when clearly it’s not being done staff should be ensuring health and safety is paramount especially given the current climate We cleaned up after ourselves but unless we went in with scrubbers, bleach and steam cleaners it would take days to clean up the mess that was the kitchen I was in a room two singles and a double and not enough room leftover to swing a cat never mind put all our gear bags etc we were literally on top of each other There’s no shared sitting room or anywhere other than the kitchen to relax, converse or do anything really ! The bathroom was ok apart from the bath panel Hanging off oh and the mould around the bath/shower but it was hot !
