Duisdale House Hotel
4.3/575 Reviews
The hotel is right at the entrance of Sky Island, opposite the sea view. The room facilities are new, clean and tidy. The most important thing is that all the staff in the hotel are super enthusiastic and help us answer all our questions. The beans for dinner and breakfast are awesome! Highly recommend everyone to stay here!
Greshornish House Hotel
4.6/557 Reviews
We had a 2 night stay here and although we persevered to ensure we had a wonderful time. Some of the room facilities were below parr ie. furniture broken and window did not close properly, not great when windy. The bathroom could have done with a heated towel rail, and not a wobbly free standing rail expected to hold 4 hand and 4 bath towels. The bathroom window (directly behind the toilet and easily accessible as low) didn't lock open ajar, with children and dogs this was important as there was no extractor or if there was it didn't work. The hot tap was wonky and twisted as you turned it... At the time of our visit we were informed that they could only cater for breakfast, which was delicious, but not the evening meal as we had booked. Sadly the location of the hotel is further afield, which caused us some inconvenience as bookings are limited in the surrounding areas, especially with children and dogs to accommodate. We were informed that the chef and kitchen staff had been working extended hours for weeks on end and needed a rest. The staff that were there were lovely. Unfortunately, the Manager didn't seem to be very organised and it is obvious things are starting to get overwhelming. His after care and manner, when we left a child's precious item behind, even though we were very patient for 6wks for it to be posted to us - note it still has not arrived to this day (obviously offering to pay), was well below what we expected from a professional establishment. Such a Pity! Really does let the side down when the staff are all trying their very best to keep their heads above water whilst running on skeletal staff.....and the manager still has time for a long holiday, in the height of the season - says a lot!
Toravaig House Hotel
4.3/563 Reviews
We have just spent 2 nights at Toravaig House Hotel & really enjoyed it. Our room was spotless & had a lovely view. Bathroom was obviously recently done & very clean. Lovely toiletries too. The staff were attentive & friendly, however the young Australian chap was by far the most chatty & informative on the area. We ate dinner on the first night which was absolutely lovely & the meal or service couldn’t be faulted. However, we did think the menu was very over-priced. We ate in a place in Portree the following evening which was half the price & just as nice. We really enjoyed our stay & would definitely return in the future.
Skeabost House Hotel
4.3/557 Reviews
The environment is beautiful, located by the lake, the service is first-class, the hotel is very cost-effective, the Scottish sister-in-law in the restaurant can tell jokes, the cooking skills are first-class, pure Scottish cuisine, and the main dish is recommended for the main dish, Scotch lamb shank.
Marmalade
4.5/570 Reviews
Lost one star for the appalling first impression delivered by our very surly initial reception (Erica), but regained it through the exceptionally tasty breakfast ( best eggs ever — don’t put any sauce on them) and efficient, personable service from all other staff. Also pleasant room, great location, good cuisine and vibe in restaurant
Cuillin Hills Hotel
4.7/5124 Reviews
The Cuillan Hills Hotel is a memorable experience. The view of the bay is intimate and awesome at the same time, and the service is warm and fast. A wood burning fire was always going in the beautiful library and the food was exceptional. I would recommend the dinner package, as it was a good value - and absolutely delicious! Portree doesn't have a lot going on, so the hotel was perfect for relaxing, reading, playing a game and enjoying the view and a brisk walk. It's like a step back in time, with luxury. As for rooms, I would recommend 42-45, with gorgeous sea views, comfortable sitting area, and a bathroom like a spa. My ONLY complaint is the hair dryer...! You have to hold a button to keep it activated, so if you use any styling product or tools, it becomes quite frustrating!
