"If you're Korean, this is the place for you!!
I've stayed at various 4- and 5-star hotels in Chiang Mai, like the Marriott and Tamarind, but this was the most comfortable and clean, and I was very satisfied with the price.
1. Extremely clean - I thought it was clean from the moment I checked in, and there wasn't even a hint of the dampness or discomfort you often experience when traveling in Southeast Asia.
There's a common area on the first floor, and it's spotless. There's a cleaning lady, and she even walked around barefoot.
The indoor slippers I brought with me from Korea were so clean that I didn't even take them out until I moved to another hotel.
2. Two windows - The cross-winds provide good ventilation, and most importantly, the sunlight is fantastic. However, beware of bugs during Chiang Mai's rainy season. This isn't just a hotel, it's the whole of Chiang Mai. Haha.
It's not a clean room with air fresheners, but a clean room with sun-dried leaves.
3. Safety - Chiang Mai is a safe city, but traveling alone can still be a bit unsettling. It felt like home, not a hotel, so I felt reassured and slept soundly throughout my stay!
The female manager always asked if I was okay and if anything was uncomfortable.
4. Mattress and Pillows - There are many other accommodations in similar price range, but the bedding here is different. Most accommodations in Thailand at this price range have firm mattresses, but here, they're incredibly soft. Physical well-being is crucial for long-term travel, and the feeling of being well-rested the next day is incredibly different.
Not a single stain was even on the sheets.
All the amenities were clean. They seemed to always replace any dirty ones. The pillows were a bit high, so if you normally use a low pillow, it might be a good idea to bring your own. I just flattened them with my hand. The bedding was also all white, which was nice and clean.
5. Water Quality - Thailand has limestone water, so I brought a shower filter. Being an old city, water quality and drainage aren't always good. However, while the shower filter in my old town accommodation was changed once a day, here, it was changed every three days. The hot water is warm. If the water temperature is low, you can tell the manager and they'll raise it. They said they lower it for safety reasons. They were so kind that I felt a little guilty later.
6. Wi-Fi - It works great. I can watch YouTube videos.
7. Friendliness - The managers always greeted me with a smile and were very kind throughout my stay, which made my stay very comfortable.
As I was passing through the lobby, the manager handed me a bowl of homemade food, saying it was her own. Haha. It was homemade and tasted like nothing I've ever tasted before.
8. Location - There's a laundromat (not a coin laundry, but a drying service) that costs 40 baht per kilometer, 3 minutes away from the hostel to the right. It's also an 8-minute walk to the Old Town South Gate. There's also a famous bakery nearby, and you can find everything you need.
There's also a local market selling grilled skewers and fruit near Big C. (Bring cash, as many places don't accept cash these days.) There's a Michelin-starred Khao Soi restaurant right in front of the market.
There's also a cooking class just a three-minute walk from the accommodation.
Old City accommodations are often crowded and full of smoke, but this one is a bit further away, so it's quiet and the air is fresh. It's not a deserted area, though; there are plenty of local restaurants and coffee shops, so it's convenient.
I stumbled upon this accommodation on Google Maps, and I'm glad I found it. I was worried because there weren't any Naver reviews, but it was a pleasure to find it."
