Hotels near Taman Negara Canopy Walkway in Jerantut

If you visit Taman Negara, there are not that many options where it comes to hotels. So try something a bit different for a change and stay at the Balai Serama guesthouse. We did, and we had the utmost pleasant surprise. First off, you won’t find it. That is why the owners pick you up as soon as you arrive in the village of Kuala Tahan. Be that by boat or by bus. For free, that is. Just call them, or ask a local. Where do you find it these days… The guesthouse consists of a sort of main building where the dining room is. The rooms are situated in a building next to that. In the middle you’ll find a beautiful garden. Ijat, the male owner, takes pride in maintaining it and that shows. In front of the premises, there is the river and jungle. Sometimes elephants pass by. You’ll hear lots of birds singing and the occasional monkey. You will also meet Marja, Ijat’s wife. She is from Holland and she will help you with everything you might possibly need. Be it a car transfer to the jetty, or to go out on an excursion. No trouble at all. The rooms are clean, with a separate bathroom, and a good working airconditioning. It is not that spacious, but large enough for a few days. Out front, there is a terrace with chairs and a small table. The beds sleep well enough for most people. Should you want to enjoy a drink, you can just approach Ijat or Marja. They have a selection of soda’s and beer (no wine) which is then charged to your room and you just pay when you leave. If you want, you can book some excursions through the guesthouse. Especially the whole day jungle tour is highly recommended. It is hard to get an experience like it anytime soon. The whole place has a really laid back atmosphere. No rush. Breakfast and dinner are served in the dining room which is entirely open on all sides. The meals are simple, but tasty and you’ll find that is is good and enough to get to to the next day. I wrote this in English as there are quite a few reviews in Dutch already. Apart from the Dutch guests, you will also find other nationalities so this will make it easier for you to read. I can recommend this place highly. We certainly had a great time and after the crowds and noise of Kuala Lumpur, it turned out to be a gem of tranquility. As a budget hotel you don’t expect much. The room was fine and up to standard. Location was fine. What let this hotel down was the breakfast. The simple choice is expected but we found the food on offer was cold. Eggs, sausages etc were in food warmers which were not in fact switched on . As breakfast was available from 6.30 I can only assume that the food was cooked at about that time so if you came down at say 8.30 or later it was cold to the point of being in-edible

If a room is absorbed due to age, then it is normal. Not normal it is if it is polluted, that must not be. Brand sticks in the carpet, destroy grips at the store, no hot water for it a refrigerator that is warm. The alleged hot water supplier, which was heatly polluting the tiles in the bathroom. The store and the top box in the dresser had to clean first time. To keep quiet of the window, the window bank and the hang - just not touch!!! Fon is there at the reception, the bed was okay, breakfast is rather not international, but also okay (if you don't expect anything) There is also a pool that people who were in there were fully dressed. I don't know how they react when you wear a bath suit as guest. There is no alcohol, clearly. But they don't even produce glasses so you can take another drink outside on the street. There is no tanning cleaner that you could have taken.

Very comfortable room with clean bathroom plus super friendly receptionist. Secured parking in front of the premise. Perfect location for those enroute to Kuala Tahan

It's very good budget Hotel, very clean and comfortable, Good stay, Staff also very helpful and friendly, they are helping carry my heavy luggage to upstairs, even though I'm not asking for help, Thank you so much definitely come again. Tq

Basic, fine for 1 or 2 nights. Bed was clean, room large enough. Air conditioning works well and it is very quiet. Breakfast simple but fine. There is no bar, but there is a small shop with water, soft drinks, beers, ice creams, cookies, etc. This is open from 10am - 10pm. Maintenance is overdue. The hotel moved 3 years ago, which doesn't mean everything is new. The rooms can be improved with some small efforts. Such as securing the sink, towel racks, etc. In the bathroom, the taps were leaking, causing the floor to be constantly wet. It doesn't really bother you when you put on slippers, but it is not very pleasant. The hotel is approximately 600m from the boat to the HQ. Easy to walk, but the hotel also offers a pickup that goes up and down regularly. This is very comfortable in the heat. There is a very small swimming pool. Actually it cannot be called a swimming pool but more of a dipping pool. This did give off blue. My son walked around with blue spots for a few days (the swimming pools in the photos are from the old hotel!)

No glass nor cup in the room, so one will need to drink from the bottle. Kind of irk, as we are in RMCO period, with COVID-19 still at large (6) Bed quality is below average (7) Hotel is above Watsons and 7-11, so expect some noises at night (8) The dressing table comes with a flimsy stool (9) The lift may not be sanitised regularly, at a glance on the lift buttons (10) Air-conditioner in the room blows directly to the bed and face, so could catch cold easily (11) The cleanliness of the room - spotted hair from the previous guests in the sink, toilet, bath area (12) Operator should stay at the hotel and see for themselves what are lacking - pillows, are they good enough? The toilet, clean? Air-cond, does it work the way it should be? The bathroom room, can it open fully?

This a new hotel in Gua Musang with a very good location. Nasken coffee is just beside the hotel, plus point there. The price is decent, however the sink in our bathroom was leaking hence the experience was not good there.
