Located in the innermost part of the pension village, this is an inn where you can enjoy a refreshing view. The building that was handed over from the previous owner was about 40 years old, but the water area was renovated very nicely, so I was able to stay comfortably. I asked for a course where I could enjoy Zao beef fillet with two meals per night, but I was surprised that all the dishes were very delicious and beautifully arranged. In particular, Tsurumurasaki's pasta has a good balance of kelp soup and you can eat as much as you want. We were really happy to stay in this hotel. The location was very central and connected with other mean of transportations (busses and trains) which is very beneficial if you are going to visit Zao Onsen or Ginzan Onsen. They also connected to this mall S-Pal (with supermarkets and small resto). The room very clean and full with amenities. The staff really helpfull. No complain at all.

The biggest advantage of Takamiya Forest Hotel is ski in & ski out, which is a good news for skiing friends. The hotel is not far from the station. There is an elevator and the room was quite nice with a wonderful view over the city. We paid about 36€ a night which was a good price for what we got. The bathroom was small as in most hotels in this category but everything was clean and well maintained. Extra free toiletries can be picked up at the reception, who was always friendly and helpful. The room could be a bit bigger as with two bags / suitcases you have to move some furniture for storage ;-) The English skills of some receptionists could be improved. In general we had a pleasant stay at the hotel and would recommend it.
