Charming hotel, with an old-fashioned style. We were told at the front desk we could opt in to having it cleaned during our stay, which we didn't do, and they cleaned it anyway. The main ding was the nearly unusable wi-fi. Connection wouldn't stay connected more than a few seconds at a time on any of our devices.

A light shown all night outside of our room. The temperature in the room was too warm and no ability to change it. But the hotel and convenience were great.

The room was spacious, having said that, it needed a small table and two chairs to have a place to sit and eat or play a game. The bed was way too firm, neither myself or my husband slept well. I appreciate the grounds staff keeping things clean but they need to run the leaf blower at other times than 5 PM or waking us up at 7 AM. The bathtub drain was slow and I stood in 2 inches of water while showering. Also, there needs to be some artwork on the walls, it gives the feeling of a funeral home. The staff was very friendly and checkout by text is very convenient. The locked gate is great for safety. With just a few changes, it could really improve the guest experience.

Built in 1907 this grand old hotel is charming. Rooms are small but very adequate. Decorated in the style from when it was built. Very nice deli/bar downstairs. Several very good dining restaurants within easy walking distance.

First, let’s go over the positives. It’s a beautiful historical place with kind, attentive staff. Now onto the negatives. When you first walk in the lobby has a very strong but pleasant, perfumed odor. However, that odor permeates through the entire hotel despite being on the fourth floor I felt like I was suffocating in my room. It gave me an excruciating migraine, and I was not able to spend any time in the hotel room. I spent all of my time outside, sitting in my car until it was bedtime. I was forced to sleep with the balcony door and windows open, causing my room to be freezing cold. When I went to check out, I discovered I had been randomly charged $400 extra and the staff was unable to figure out how or why I was charged And was unable to remove the charge without me contacting my bank which my bank that I needed to contact them and I still am missing $400. It’s too bad because if the hotel had it made me physically ill and broke it would’ve been a lovely’s day.

Very nice hotel, clean and well managed. Management easy to work with, the location is really good for restaurants and bars, trolly across the street goes to the airport or Larkspur. I liked it a lot.
