Isola di Cocco Ayurvedic Beach Resort

We reached the location at 4:30 PM on 28-March and requested for a boat trip during check-in but at 5 PM, we were told that due to high tide warning the public boats (public boats run by various union) were not available, we then went to the reception stating we saw boats with passengers, and we were told they were private boats. We had come to the resort from so far just to see the natural beauty of the backwaters. We were also told that boat service can be requested only before 4:45 PM (which we did at the time of check-in) or after 8 AM next day(it becomes quite warm in summer esp. at the beach). Later we realized that the all the public boats (run by the unions) were running as normal. Near the swimming pool (where they drop and pick up passengers), the boats were accepting passengers directly (with reduced rate as compared to what was mentioned by the resort ***agement). The boat drivers even mentioned that they pick the guest till 5:30 PM and can pick up at 6AM as well(if requested directly with them earlier). The boat drivers were giving the service as usual on that day. We ended up just roaming around the hotel. We even met few people inside the resort who had mentioned that they took the boat service at 5:15 PM. Please also note that the bathroom/toilet/restroom in their heritage villa is open which is not mentioned in their website. The service from all other staffs were good except the reception ***ager. As the main purpose of the visit did not materialized, we were utterly disappointed by the unprofessional behaviour.

Very beautifully located by the dramatic Arabian Sea and ***groves a perfect place to rest and recover after long travels. Buffet breakfast and dinner was varied and plentiful. Rooms were beautifully cleaned daily by Bhindi who made us some lovely towel sculptures. Housekeeping supervisor Praveen was very attentive and we had lovely chats with him. The Ayurvedic hospital gave us super massages - unforgettable experience- so oily!!! We also had a Balinese massage at the spa which was delightfully energising and relaxing. Thank you to jobe who helped us select our treatment. Everyone is friendly. Sageeta at the front desk even helped me with making a payment. We were very happy with our stay. We loved taking an afternoon tuk tuk to poovar town for a coffee and look around and chat with shopkeepers. The birds and nature around the resort are lovely to watch too.

Compared to other hotels on our tour this was most disappointing. Had 3 days at the end of our stay. Didn’t see ***y smiles from staff. Food plentiful, although restaurant didn’t have an inviting atmosphere. We had to keep asking about facilities, communication could have been better, a folder in reception, booklet or folder in your room. We made the most of our stay, boat trip down the ***grove, visit to the ‘sand island’ seen from the hotel, tuk tuks to Poovar & Kovalam are a great experience. Special mention to Sheela at the therapy hospital for the tentative massage (thank you)

Lovely hotel, great views of the sea and backwaters! Rooms very comfy and clean with outside shower rooms. Staff all very helpful and friendly, restaurant food very good and caters for different tastes! Swimming pool good with loungers and shade.

A lovely hotel, the staff are all very helpful and cheerful! Our room was kept clean and tidy and had all we needed including an outside bathroom! The restaurant is very good and again staff lovely, plenty of food I could eat as I don’t like too spicy! The grounds are well kept and tidy, the pool is big and clean! Reception staff very helpful! This hotel has the most beautiful grounds but sadly the staff are the most miserable I've come across. This was the last stop on a 2 week tour and up to this point, every hotel has been great. We endured 2 nights in a row of violent fights with staff in the restaurant, and they refused to call the police. It was traumatic with young children witnessing awful scenes. Waiters were only interested in Indian guests. We were refused late check out, despite the hotel being empty and they would not budge. Showers and toilet by the pool disgusting and our room needed a proper deep clean. Nothing at all to commend this hotel other than the gardens. Our other 6 hotels have been great so we are not complainers usually.

I liked this hotel a lot. The location, the staff, the views, the food, the cleanliness and the facilities were all spot on. We were upgraded to a room with a private pool which was a lovely touch. The rooms were beautifully equipped and more like a small apartment than a hotel room. The grounds were immaculately maintained and the pool area by the restaurant was fantastic with the best shaded areas and sun beds out of the 5 hotels we stayed in. Unlike most hotels, they had an area where you could sit and have a beer or wine taking in a wonderful view of the inland waterways over to the beach that was reachable via a short water taxi ride. The yoga studio overlooking the inland waterways was an inspiring place to to a bit of early morning exercise and like most other hotels, there were plenty of mats. A lovely hotel that we would definitely return to.

1) Rooms are good and big 2) location - you will be lost 3) Being a 5 star proeprty, iron broad and iron was missing 4) They will give slipper and shaving kit on asking. They should be kept in room itself 5) Breakfast - not able to cook north indian properly - service is just worst - need to ask multiple times for live dosa and hot parantha 6) Swimming pool - awesome 7) Take more time to spend in resort other then spending a night only - resort is worth exploring Tips : Please spend ample time here in resort. Can't reach by public transport, only accessible via private vechile being located in remote area.
