The room was quite small for two guests, and the bathroom was also very cramped. It was difficult to open our luggage comfortably. The mattress was thin and gave me back pain. Check-in was done at a separate building, which was not convenient. The only positive point is its close location to Gojo Station. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and would not stay again. I’ll opt for a more modern and comfortable hotel in the future.

I was gladly surprised. I booked a room for only myself and it was big enough for two people to sleep in. It also had two little spaces with doors where you could put the suitcase in. Everything was clean and smelled good. The shower is a little surprising the first time you use it but as a female solo traveler I had no issues. The location is very good, close to public transportation that takes you to all the main places to visit. I'd book again.

The accommodation was very good, very Kyoto-like, and very close to a twenty four h convenience store. The ground floor rooms required walking through a small open-air garden. The privacy was excellent. The hotel staff were very friendly and could communicate in English. One drawback was that some of the rooms had poor ventilation and no power outlets in the bathroom. Overall, however, it was a very good stay.

I think it is a good price for this location in Kyoto, but I expected to have a bathroom inside my room, as shown in the photo. But the toilet was public after all. There is a public sento around the corner. Nothing specific I would say. I've seen much better ryokans/hotels in Japan for a lower price. Still, it's good for 1-2 nights.

The Japanese-style room was perfect for one person. Conveniently located, it's convenient to all the attractions. The front desk service was excellent and communication was easy. The best part was that there was a Hakusanyu hot spring across the street. It only took a minute to get back to the hotel after using the hot spring. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kyoto. 👍😂

The soundproofing is poor. While the hotel's rules state quiet at night, I was still seeing people washing up in the hallway at one or two in the morning during my stay. The multi-person rooms on the first floor seem to have better soundproofing, so consider booking for a larger group. However, for the price, it's a great place to stay during your trip, and the mattress and quilt are quite comfortable. The nearby Hakusanyu bathhouse is clean and very comfortable. There are vending machines right outside the hotel, and a convenience store is a five-minute walk away.

Pros: Conveniently located in the center, close to everything. Clean, like everywhere in Japan. Very soft, comfortable bed linens and mattress, pleasant to sleep on. There's a shared kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and some dishes. Cons: No one kept quiet, very noisy, with parties and drinking in the kitchen. No soundproofing at all. No soap in the sinks or toilet, no alcohol-based hand sanitizer to wipe down the toilet. Before check-out, I received a message with the check-out rules, stating that luggage storage is a fee of 1,500 yen (twice as expensive as a subway locker). Check-in is very late, check-out is very early.

The hotel is very convenient for travel, and is within walking distance of the subway station and bus station. The service is very good, the front desk has Chinese service, and the contact information also has WeChat. The Japanese breakfast provided by the hotel in the morning is delicious. The staff were very friendly. They also gave me accurate guidance. They put a white cover on the blanket, but I'm not sure if the cover is that clean. Since it's a guesthouse, there's no soundproofing at all. You might wake up to the sound of hammers around 7-8 in the morning. Still, it wasn't bad for a cost-effective stay.

The room was clean, but there were things left by others in the shared bathroom. The toilet was ok. The place where I stayed was not in the same building as the check-in place. It took 5 minutes to walk. The staff was very friendly, but there were too many rules to follow before and during the stay. It was the first time that I had to pay for storing my luggage on the day of check-out.
