I'm not sure if it was good luck or if my expectations were just low, but I booked a double room for around 360 ringgit. First off, the room was indeed quite small; you could probably walk from the door to the bed in four steps, but it wasn't so cramped that two people couldn't turn around. The bathroom door was an older sliding type, but it worked fine. Although there was some yellowing on the bottom tiles of the bathroom wall, it wasn't dirty and there were no hairs or anything. The bed wasn't damp or dirty either. In fact, the cleaning staff would come very early to tidy up (if you don't want them to clean, remember to hang the 'Do Not Disturb' sign the night before, as they start around 9 am). The air conditioning was also very cold; we even slept with the duvet on at night. The curtains were excellent at blocking light; no light seeped through. BUT! The views outside the door and window weren't great. The view outside the door was actually fine, just a normal, quiet street in a small backyard, no issues there. I think if you don't have super high expectations, staying here is perfectly fine. At 360 ringgit for two people, that's only 180 ringgit per night each (and it includes breakfast, a pool, and the staff even leave a handwritten greeting card for you at night – no kidding! And this price actually includes a bunch of taxes; the original price is normally around 300 ringgit, not in Malaysian ringgit, mind you). Also, the door was a bit old, not an electronic one but the kind you open with a key. However, after 12 am, there's a gate downstairs (don't ask how I know, my brother and I got locked out when we went for KFC late at night). There's also a security guard downstairs, so I can tell you that if there's any significant commotion, the guard will be right up. Another downside is that due to the local climate, there might be geckos on the walls, but I felt they were more scared of people than vice versa; they'd run away at the slightest sound. They only stayed on the walls. There's no elevator, but the stairs aren't strenuous at all, it's only two floors (I stayed in 02, so if you're afraid of geckos, you can avoid that room. There were no bugs or spiders in the room, which I was initially worried about). Okay, so much for the cons, now for the pros. The front desk ladies were all very friendly and helpful. Because there were some communication issues, we used a translator, but they were still very diligent in their service and clearly explained everything without being perfunctory (and it's the same three or four ladies, so those with social anxiety don't have to worry about not recognizing anyone on a second visit). The room had both hot and cold water, and the bed was very comfortable. I found it quite good to sleep on, perhaps a bit on the firmer side, but not so hard that you felt like you'd been run over by a truck (if you're looking for a top-of-the-line mattress, then disregard my comment). Anyway, I slept very well for both nights. It was also very soundproof; I saw many tourists during my stay, but I didn't hear any loud noises at night (perhaps our group was just very considerate? Hard to say). Also, the location is fantastic! There are restaurants downstairs – Middle Eastern, Malaysian, and Indian cuisine. Walk straight for less than five minutes and you're on the beach, super convenient. There are also several duty-free shops nearby. The hawker street is just a right turn from the exit, and it's like a night market all the way down, even livelier at night. It's full of shops selling food, drinks, and goods; it's definitely not deserted. I don't know who started the rumor that Langkawi is desolate. I can only say it feels very 'alive'. I flew in from Kuala Lumpur, and in KL, I felt like tourists were constantly checking in and out, like refreshing NPCs. But here, the sense of 'living' is strong; you can even feel like you can integrate into their pace of life, which I think is exactly what you want for a vacation, isn't it? It's really lively at night, with people everywhere on the beach. Everyone is very amiable and approachable; no one rudely stares at you or anything like that. When you make eye contact, they just offer a smile and appreciation (at least I didn't encounter anything else, but it's always essential to be safe when traveling). The guesthouse's pool is, yes, very clean, and there are even little cats keeping you company. One very friendly cat; the staff didn't chase him away and even put out a small mat for him to sleep on. What else? Oh, breakfast. Breakfast was more local fare; I didn't take pictures, so you can make your own arrangements. I'm not a shill, I'm not trying to deliberately write a good review. If I were a shill, I'd never tell the truth. I'm just writing this spontaneously because it's the first time I've felt such a vibrant, 'alive' atmosphere abroad. (Oh, another thing I just remembered: the guesthouse doesn't have a washing machine, but about a five-minute walk down that night market street to the right, there's a public self-service laundry with dryers). Alright, time to sleep; getting ready to head back home tomorrow.

Had a really pleasant stay at Arch Studio Cenang. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The facilities were good and the location was convenient, especially for getting around Cenang. The service was also friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Overall, a great place to stay and definitely worth considering for a trip to Langkawi. Would happily stay here again!

The hotel is really good, but the breakfast is shockingly bad - kids portions and poor quality food. The room was clean. Pool was small, but enough for kids. Staff kind and friendly. Location excellent - close everywhere.

The hotel location is excellent, right across from Cenang Beach. Breakfast is served next door.

Free kisses chocolate is a plus point. Bath water pressure slightly small. Overall it’s a good stay with good location at Cenang.

Arrived earlier to store my luggage first, and the staffs were nice. They informed me when my room is ready to check in. The AC has been turned on before I entered the room 👍🏻 small treat was given to every room too

Great location, near to the beach, right opposite Underwater World. Mini Swimming pool for dipping and relaxing is right outside of the room. Room is spacious and comfortable. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Love the decoration and the boutique theme. Bed is super comfy that I slept throughout the night.

Actually, it was a good stay for me and the location is the best for solo travellers. If you ask me to tell you one thing I'm sorry about, the breakfast was not as good as the option and the taste was not as good as I thought.But overall, it was quite good and worth the money.

Stayed at Arch Studio Cenang for a short trip. The hotel location is excellent and very near the beach, which was very convenient. However, the reception experience was not great as guests still had to complete online check-in themselves. The standard room was also very basic with limited facilities.

Great location in Cenang. But not beach facing and not great value for the price. But is good for short stays.

We enjoyed the smooth check in process and friendly staff. The breakfast cafe was surprisingly convenient and had friendly workers. Rooms were cozy and clean and location was outstanding. We liked the funky decor and daily chocolates on our pillow! The bathroom door kept sliding closed and a shower screen/curtain would have been welcome. Overall, we highly recommend ASC to anyone who wants a low-stress and friendly stay in Langkawi!

At first glance, the room seemed nice, but everything was fake. The bedding and towels smelled bad. The iron frame bed was unstable, wobbly, and felt like it could collapse at any moment. We were so scared to sleep on it, fearing we'd be held responsible if it broke, so we reported it to Trip.com backstage. Eventually, someone came to fix the bed by adding a screw, but no nut, which just shows how shoddy it was. The most unbearable part was that on our first day, a stranger tried to open our door multiple times. Luckily, our family of three had double-locked it, and we just watched the doorknob shaking. On the second day, our child was tired and stayed in, and he experienced the same thing alone in the room. This time, someone was frantically ringing the doorbell, then knocking, and repeatedly trying to open the door – it was absolutely terrifying. Because of the first day's incident, we had already told our child not to open the door for anyone. The breakfast was terrible, just one meal option, and the only meat was in the hamburger at the very end! The front desk staff smiled, but they seemed much friendlier to white guests. The balcony door was incredibly difficult to open and close! Absolutely not worth it! Such a terrible experience. So terrifying!

The room was decent, quite spacious. The birds in the courtyard started chirping early in the morning, which was a bit noisy, but other than that, it was pretty quiet. Yellow Club is diagonally opposite, about a 10-minute walk away. It's an ideal spot for watching the sunset. The breakfast area is a bit small, so if you go at the wrong time, you might encounter a crowd and have to wait in line. Breakfast is a set menu, with about five or six options to choose from.
