Mixed Experience at Hilton Syon Park: Room Delays, Unexpected Pool & other charges
Rating: ★★★☆☆
I recently stayed at the Hilton Syon Park for four nights and had a mixed experience overall. While the hotel had some positive aspects, there were also a couple of disappointing aspects that affected my overall satisfaction.
Let's start with the positives. The majority of the staff members I encountered during my stay were friendly and helpful (80% are foreigners). They were always ready to assist with any questions or requests, which made me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. Additionally, the hotel's breakfast, while very basic is just acceptable. The room was quite spacious and beddings satisfactory.
Unfortunately, there were a few issues that detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay. Firstly, upon checking in at 5pm, I was disappointed to find that my room was not ready until 6:30pm. Although the gentleman at the front desk was kind and apologetic about the delay, it was an inconvenience after a long journey and negatively impacted my initial impression of the hotel.
Another unexpected disappointment was the pool usage policy. I was surprised to discover that there was a charge of £25 per person for a 90-minute session to access the hotel pool, something that isn’t mentioned anywhere on trip.com. Considering the Hilton brand and the premium I paid, I did not anticipate such an additional cost for utilizing the pool facilities. This seemed disproportionate and out of line with the expectations I had for a hotel of this caliber. I heard other people complaining about it, even others complaining that they had paid for it and it was smelly.
Additionally, it's worth noting that while complimentary water was provided in the room on the first night, I was surprised to find that there was a charge for the water on the following nights. This was unexpected, as I would have assumed that water would continue to be complimentary throughout my stay. It would have been helpful for this information to be communicated clearly, again not a nice feeling from a Hilton.
On the whole, while the Hilton Syon Park had several positive aspects, such as friendly staff and an acceptable breakfast, there were a few disappointments that affected my overall impression. The delay in room availability during check-in, the unexpected charges for pool usage, and the shift from complimentary to paid water in the room were not in line with the level of service and value I expected from a Hilton.
Great location and loved the roof top bar - breakfast buffet food choices excellent- everything was clean and all staff I encountered were very helpful- I would love to come back and stay
good location and spacious room. The hotel is located within 5 minutes walking distance from Gatwick South terminal. I paid an extra £25 to get check-in in the early morning.
Helpful front desk , breakfast was very nice and staff at the breakfast was very friendly and welcoming, one of the best friendly hotel.
Location is the very convenient if you are visiting the Warner bros. Harry Potter experience. I would recommend this hotel 1st time

Unfortunately not a gd nights sleep, stayed in 3 different rooms in the first 24 hrs of our stay due to very uncomfortable squeaky beds and gave up after the 3rd room as we couldn’t face being moved again.. rooms very dated and in need of major modernisation. Location was not great for us as it’s a 15 minute walk to the nearest tube station (Kensington high street) as Kensington Olympia tube station is only 5 minutes away but tubes only arrive there weekends and are few and far between but that’s our fault for not researching that correctly.
Staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast was 1st class ..
If only the hotels room deco was at the same standard as the staff/breakfast this would have been a top 5/5 hotel except the location didn’t suit us.
The central part of the hotel is filled with light and space. Great when you are in the restaurant.
Rooms are clean, spacious, quality sheets and pillow.
The staff is available and very nice. I had an issue with my shower and it was sorted asap.
Plus of course the proximity of Heathrow T4, with a fully covered passage to go to terminal.

I LOVE IT I WANT TO GO BACK, the room was so pretty and clean, I’m from Spain so here is not the same weather as there but the room was warm and the beds were so comfortable and I love it the food and the staff were so nice to us.
Good location next to tube line. Went to bar for a drink, 2 large glasses of rose wine was £36! Breakfast for myself and my sister was also £36! I know London is expensive but prices a bit steep. Also no breakfast tea in the room just Earl Grey and fruit tea. Room OK with all the amenities you would need.
Terrible hotel. Checked in, got to room only to find someone else in bed. Was told by receptionist that ‘there couldn’t be’!! Stayed two nights. On both nights first two items on menu choice were unavailable. On second night third choice was Nachos. Delivered to table without chilies, sour cream or cheese. So just the tomato sauce then. Apparently the chef couldn’t find the ingredients 🤦. Upon check out charged twice on card. Asked how stay was and told. Ignored. Never stay there again.

GGuest UserAmazing stay in Hilton London Tower Bridge. Excellent location near Tower Bridge/ The Shard, well- taken care of a very polite, pleasant ,very considerate and professional service from Ivy at the reception who upgraded our booking with complimentary breakfast/drinks after realising we are celebrating an occasion. Will definitely recommend and book again.

LLiamSimmonsStaff at The Waldorf are incredibly attentive to any / all needs.
I asked for a later checkout and plates for food early in the morning after a night out and they accommodated that for us.
The hotel is placed in a prime location, just a stones throw from Covent Garden and about 28-30 minutes walk from Regent Street. The hotel is only accessible by key card after hours; to ensure guest safety.
Amenities in the room included an iron and board, kettle, drinking glasses and coffee / tea cups. The shower had fixed shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers.
The mini bar was fairly priced for central London, but hadn't been cleaned (hence the slightly lower score on cleanliness).
The air conditioning dried my throat out throughout the night, but turns off automatically if the window is open, so had to deal with that / just had water next to the bed throughout the night.
The downstairs bar had a great atmosphere and boasts a large menu. Great for a late nightcap.
Overall the experience was great. Our Queen room cost £179.00 for the night (excluding breakfast). I was offered two forms of upgrades. A larger Queen Room with breakfast included was only an extra £40.00, and a Kings Suite with access to the executive lounge and breakfast was £80.00 extra.
NNH1Hilton Park Lane London:
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Park Lane in London, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This luxurious hotel truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly and attentive staff who made the check-in process a breeze. They were knowledgeable, accommodating, and went out of their way to ensure that all my needs were met. The level of professionalism displayed by the staff was truly commendable.
The rooms at the Hilton Park Lane were nothing short of magnificent. Spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities one could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep every night of my stay. The room also offered stunning views of Hyde Park, which was an added bonus.
The hotel's dining options were superb. I had the pleasure of dining at one of the on-site restaurants, and the food was absolutely delicious. The menu featured a wide range of culinary delights, and the service was impeccable. Whether you're in the mood for a casual meal or a fine dining experience, the Hilton Park Lane has something to suit every palate.
The hotel's location is another major advantage. Situated right on Park Lane, it offers easy access to some of London's most iconic attractions. Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, and Oxford Street are all within walking distance, making it an ideal choice for tourists. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near several public transportation options, making it easy to explore the city.
The Hilton Park Lane also boasts excellent leisure facilities. The fitness center is well-equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, allowing guests to maintain their fitness routines while traveling. Additionally, the hotel features a luxurious spa where guests can indulge in a range of treatments and therapies, perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Overall, my experience at the Hilton Park Lane London was absolutely fantastic. The hotel's impeccable service, luxurious accommodations, convenient location, and outstanding amenities make it a top choice for both business and leisure travelers. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the heart of London.

Great hotel
FFrancesFabulous stay. Our room was spotless and quite big by London standards. The hotel staff were lovely , always helpful and smiling . Can’t wait to stay again.
HHoHotel service was overall shocking. I had a room + breakfast prepaid for 4 days. I returned to the room late on the 3rd day to find that the hotel had mistakenly cancelled my room with my belongings within and let it out to someone else. After a long time of reasoning back and forth, the hotel finally got me another room and they found my belongings, but the next morning, I was told by the restaurant that the new room I was assigned to did not come with breakfast even though I had paid for it. I also did not get any message from the duty manager who said that she would follow up on possible refunds. There was only one duty manager I encountered later who actually performed proper service recovery. He was the only service staff I would commend. In terms of physical infrastructure, the elevated hotel entrance does not have a ramp, only steps, and is not suitable for those with mobility issues or wheelchairs.
SSophia92Great hotel,
The room was clean and spacious
The only downside is the onsite parking only has around 25 spaces and you can’t book online you just have to turn up and hope for the best. Despite this the man at the concierge desk gave us an alternative parking address which was only 4 minutes walk from the hotel
