Hotels in Longji Terraced Field-Ping'An Zhuang Village, Longsheng

By far one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had, not only because the installations are fantastic but also because of the friendliness of every staff member, the attention to detail and the hospitality. We arrived at 11 pm and the owner understood we were hungry and cooked us dinner despite the lateness (she even fetched vegetables from the garden behind the hotel), definitely our best stay in china and we’ve been traveling for 4 months.

Beautiful wooden mountain cabin with a breathtaking view from the window. The host was incredibly helpful – he even arranged our transfer to the next town. A wonderful family-run place with a gorgeous cat (his photos are what made me book in this place). The best stay we've had in a very long time. Highly recommended

Everything was amazing. We opted to upgrade our room when we got there for a higher floor. The view was really nice (when there was no fog). The man who ran the hotel also spoke good English meaning he could explain routes to us. Hotel was also located close to the gate meant convenient access to the transportation in and out of the park. Rooms were also very spacious and the hotel provided for everything that was needed. Only drawback I would say is the lack of an elevator. Meaning if you’re on the fourth floor like we were, it was a hike up and down everyday.

This is hands down the best homestay I've ever experienced! The hosts (the owner and his wife) are incredibly kind and welcoming. My suitcase had become exceptionally heavy after several days of travel and shopping. Without a moment's hesitation, even in the pouring rain, the owner single-handedly carried it up multiple flights of stairs. I was deeply touched by his incredible effort; it was genuinely hard work. Dinner was a heartwarming experience, shared with their entire family, and their children were absolutely adorable. The hosts are genuine, hardworking individuals from an ethnic minority group, dedicated to running their homestay with integrity and care. No matter what needs or concerns arose during my stay, the hosts enthusiastically went above and beyond to assist, genuinely caring for every guest. This is something I experienced firsthand. Finding such a wonderful place and meeting such kind-hearted people is truly a lucky and heartwarming part of any journey. This review reflects my honest opinion; if you're reading it, you can book this place without a second thought. The scenery, needless to say, is absolutely stunning, and the location is equally superb. So, when comparing similar value for money, I chose an environment that offered more warmth and positive energy. Encountering such fortunate and heartwarming people and experiences during a tiring journey truly re-energizes us, empowering us to face life with renewed strength and diligence. I believe this is precisely the meaning of why we embark on journeys! I am just an ordinary traveler, and I wrote this review purely out of gratitude for the profound kindness and genuine sincerity I encountered. I generally rarely write reviews. I've even specially included a photo with the host family, hoping everyone will support their business. There haven't been many tourists lately, but my experience was absolutely phenomenal.

Our stay was really nice and we enjoyed the view, fresh air and nature. The service was also friendly and helpful. She was really patient with our translating and was so kind to book us a car to get us to our next destination. We will for sure remember her kindness. Further, we must recommend her dish: beef potatoes. It was sooo tasty and spiced like Chinese-Western cuisine. Important: Our arrival was quite a journey booking a driver to drive us from Guilin to Longji. You must know that it is far away and you can’t drive to the hotel, only to the entry of the Longji Scenic area. There you have to buy tickets for the area if you did not book it in advance. There are some discounts for specific people, just translate the sign with the prices. After paying the entry ticket, you should buy a ticket for the sightseeing bus to take you up to your hotel. It is really a long way - wouldn’t recommend walking uphill to the hotel. The bus ticket also includes a return from your hotel back to the entry. Overall, recommending visiting the area and staying at the hotel.

The location is great, just a seven or eight-minute walk from the Ping'anzhai observation deck. The scenery is absolutely stunning, surrounded by mountains. Opening the balcony door from your room feels like you're living in the clouds. We went during the off-season, so there weren't many people. The guesthouse has a traditional Chinese architectural style, all solid wood, and the materials used are very substantial. The only downside is that you have to park in a designated parking lot quite far from the hotel, pay a high parking fee, and then buy an electric cart ticket to get up there. You can clearly drive up yourself, which I found very confusing and inconvenient.

We loved our stay here. Extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming host. Helped us organise shared transport to the hotel from Guilin West Railway Station for 80 yuan each. We hiked from Ping’an to Dazhai and she organised our collection in Dazhai and subsequent transport to Guilin, including luggage transfer. This also cost 80 yuan each but the price depends on the season. Clean, spacious rooms and the free fresh fruit was a nice touch. The host is also a great chef and made us both dinner and breakfast, the latter costing 18 yuan for two. Great location within Ping’an, halfway between the two famous Ping’an viewpoints - you can walk to one (about 20 minutes) then follow a mountain trail to the other (40 minutes between the two). Based on our hike to Dazhai, staying in Ping’an felt like the right decision as it seemed a little quieter and more authentic to us.

The Li'an Villa that friends helped to book is particularly amazing. The villa is pure wood structure, with elegant decorations, combined with rattan, relief, and wood. The landscape view environment is very good 👍, especially a happy trip. The little Mr. Zhao who received us was warm and considerate and patient, and took us to various attractions, and there were surprises every day. We bought beautiful and unnamed fruit under the mountain. Xiao Zhao helped us wash and cut the plates, told us how to eat, let us have the feeling of family and home, the hotel is quiet and warm and comfortable, the breakfast is very rich, and there is coffee ☕️, for this we stayed for another two days. Daughter said: I am in a good mood here, and I can read in peace. Thank you very much, Mr. Xiao Zhao, thank you for your thoughtfulness and beautiful sweet-scented tea. We will come again and will recommend friends to come.

The owners were very welcoming, and the guesthouse was very nice and clean. The food was especially delicious; after traveling for so many days, it was the best I'd had such a wonderful local chicken soup. We caught a lot of paddy field fish, and the owner helped us clean and fry them – they were delicious! He even packed up the leftovers and put them in the refrigerator so we could take them home the next day. The complimentary rice wine was also very good; the owner said it was homemade by his mother. It was really great! If I have the chance and time, I'd definitely stay here for a few more days.

Had an incredible stay here! The views are stunning (probably one of the best out of all the other accommodations nearby), the room was clean and the service was friendly. It's a family owned business and everyone is lovely. If you're taking a bus, it won't drop you all the way to the hotel but if you give the hotel a call, someone can come pick you up from the bus stop. I had a bit of a miscommunication with my previous hotel who arranged a coach for us that dropped us off at a very far away drop off point and someone still came and picked us up from there with no complaints (and did not charge us for it)!! We were also dropped back off at the bus stop on the day we left. No one spoke much English which made it a little harder, but we got by with a translator app. There are quite a few stairs to go up to get to the hotel which isn't great if you have lots of heavy luggage so I'd recommend packing lightly if possible. Having said that, if you have average fitness, you should be fine getting up and down the stairs, the trek is not too long. The views are definitely worth it! Would stay again for sure.
