Mount High Luxury Country Estate

The worst treatment we’ve got. The racism was louder than anything. We came in good spirit of the long weekend of heritage month. Firstly the codes were provided to guests prior to the day of arrival the had double check who the guest was the didn’t expect us at all. When we got there the allocated us the wrong room stable and the room didn’t have flowers as advertised..we asked them about the flowers the said the flowers died. Then we let everything slide since the were using the ****ing as an excuse. After the long day of touring Mpumalanga the shower was either extremely hot or cold.😏 we had negotiate for clean towels Later that evening my partner and I were talking and giggling we had a knock around 20:35 saying ‘that we are loud and we are disturbing other guest the want to sleep’ few minutes later rugby game commotion started . That made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome on our first night. The last straw was the last day. We had checked out and we were still finalising payments for breakfast. the told us that check out time is 10:00 (in other words evacuate from the premises ASAP) cause they had other guest coming . You could see them tip toeing around the non black guest preparing the stables for them getting them fresh flowers and shower gel.

What a stunning place. It was our last night on a road trip through Mpumalanga and what a treat. We stayed in the stable rooms - they are SO beautifully decorated. All unique. Super comfortable beds. The gardens are also amazing. We had a great welcome and treated to the most delicious meals in the events room. A cosy fire and beautifully set table. The best dessert we have ever eaten. The kitchen area at the stables was great for an early coffee and rusks. The trails are well marked and we had a lovely walk in the morning. Would love to come back. Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed here for two nights and it was absolutely stunning. The whole place is so beautiful, each room is different and just georgeous. The managers Santie and Tippie are the most heartwarming people, they prepared us a wonderful stay. And after two days it feels like we are leaving friends. Tippie is a famous and really great cook, the meals he prepared for us as our “private chef” couldn’t have been better and tastier. It was a feast to watch him preparing the food in the beautifully kitchen while having some tasty wine. For sure we will come back, you don’t meet such wonderful hosts very often. Incredible experience! We stayed at mount high after three nights in the bush - and it was wonderful. Will be back for sure- pure relaxation in a wonderful atmosphere. Attention: SUV advisable, because the gravel road on the way is quite challenging.

This was the nicest property we stayed at during 3 weeks in SA. The only issue is the drive to the property is rough, making access to restaurants prohibitive. I recommend this property for isolation and relaxation.

We had a PHENOMENAL experience at Mount High Lodge. A beautifully decorated house, views you cannot describe and an atmosphere of immense relaxation. We also made use of the option to have Tippie Enslin as our chef for the weekend. What a great experience having shared great food with Tippie during our weekend at Mount High lodge, where he shared his great culinary skills with us by preparing our food for the weekend. Waking up early to the smell of moerkoffie and freshly baked sourdough bread permeating through the house. It is a great place for friends to come together. Cannot wait for our next visit. Cannot recommend Mount High Luxury enough.

We had a wonderful stay here. Nice rooms, very friendly people, beautiful surroundings but mostly we felt like being their guests. Waking up with the smell of fresh baked bread, having diner at a large table in the kitchen while the food is being prepared right in front of you. You can come here as couple, with friends or family or for a wedding.
