We have traveled to Japan many times, but this was our first time staying at a ryokan and it was so much more than we anticipated. Every staff member was so friendly, kind, and spoke English. We booked a corner suite with a private onsen. As others have mentioned, the check-in process is very individualized and leisurely. We were asked to sit down, they brought manju and tea, and a staff member (Reimi) explained everything to us. Reimi also escorted us to the suite and provided more information about it and the onsen. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding with multiple courses at each meal. Even though food is served in their dining hall, each party has it's own partitioned eating area (with shoji doors). Our son didn't feel well toward the end of dinner and missed dessert. We were surprised that our server saved his dessert and presented it to him at breakfast. As we checked out, the manager gifted us with temari ball trinkets. If you are visiting Matsumoto, Nagano I would highly recommend staying over night at Hotel Tamanoyu.

I visited him at the end of the year. This is my second time at Asama Onsen. It takes about 20 minutes by bus from Matsumoto Station. It was a regular Japanese-style room on the top floor with an area of 8 tatami mats (35 m2). This room is a very ordinary room, but there are a few stairs leading down to the room from the entrance, so please be careful when choosing a room if you have difficulty walking. There are three open-air private baths on the 5th floor and a large bath on the 1st floor, and I enjoyed both the private bath and the large bath. It was a hot spring that was soft to the touch. You can enjoy your meals in a semi-private room without worrying about being seen. Although both dinner and breakfast could not be called luxurious, they were reasonably sized and delicious. In the evening, events such as concerts are held from around 8 o'clock, so music lovers may enjoy it. I visited here to relieve the fatigue of the past year, and I was satisfied with the hot springs and food. Although it is a long-established inn, it is clean, quiet, and comfortable.

It was a breakfast only plan, but it was full of content. The first thing that surprised me was the concert held at night. The owner himself sang a song, and I listened intently. There is also a private bath and an open-air bath, so you can take a bath without crowding. In addition, each and every staff member is smiling and pleasant to serve customers. Next time I would like to stay with a plan that includes dinner.

I searched for the first night in Matsumoto for a trip to Shinshu hot springs to relax as a couple, and chose it based on word-of-mouth evaluation. Barrier-free and open-air bath with room seemed to be attractive. The room was quite different from the photo impression, but I was able to fulfill those two points. (It seems that the cost performance of about 35,000 yen per person is far from being achieved, but I will endure it). The quality of the dinner is that of a normal hot spring inn. Shinshu beef and soba noodles (28) were normal, and there were no other features, but I was surprised that a mandolin concert started during the meal as a countermeasure against corona. Usually after mealtime. For guests who want to eat quietly or who don't like mandolins, it would be "violent". I thought it would be rude to the performers, so I had to put up with it until the end of the concert. At night, I took a bath in the open-air bath in my room. The oil temperature cannot be adjusted for each room because the hot spring is directly poured onto the wall above the bathtub. I'm worried about the morning, so I put the lid on tightly and went to bed. Early in the morning, the open-air bath with the room was mostly water. Call the front desk. Since the person in charge is not at work, I will contact you from here ... Then there was no contact at all for 30 minutes, and the things in the inn were left unattended without coming to check the temperature. I couldn't take it anymore and protested over the phone. Finally, a person who called himself the "representative" appeared... I said, "Check it yourself," and he began to check the temperature of the open-air bath for the first time. Adjust by the side. Drained the water bath with the room and filled it with hot water... The breakfast was neither good nor bad. the payment was raised. After that, I left a lot of things in the shower room that I didn't use. From the next day, I spent a rich time (best cost performance) at a familiar hot spring inn and healed my bad memories.

I stayed one night at Kamiyamada Onsen and enjoyed it so much that I was looking for somewhere to stay another night while sightseeing Zenkoji Temple. Booked a plan. The bath in the room is a real hot spring that will make you tired from the hot water, and you can always soak in hot water. I was able to take a bath without any problems. Since it was winter in the morning, the water temperature of the shower in the shower booth was low, but when I called, they responded immediately. dinner. Each small side dish is delicately seasoned and looks cute! Thanks to the cheerful Nakai-san, it was a lot of fun, and I had so much fun that I had to refill the pickles. Even I, who doesn't usually eat beef, enjoyed Shinshu beef to my heart's content. There was no odor. Bespoke dishes include local delicacies such as grilled bandits and horse sashimi. Soba. The word of mouth was so highly rated that the hurdle may have been raised. The collaboration between the noodles and the soup is amazing. The concept of "delicious soba" that I have received so far has been overturned. After dinner, I saw a violinist's concert. The song "Kimetsu no Yaiba", which is popular now, was also wonderful, and the song unique to Nagano reminded me of my hometown and I was deeply moved. If you request a song you like, they will play it for you. I think that is also a valuable experience. During the concert, snow fell thickly outside the window, and it was a fantastic night. A wide variety of artists seem to perform every night. Irresistible for music lovers. The futon in the room is also comfortable. We weren't good with air conditioners, so we wore the sweatshirts we brought with us, but thanks to the feather comforter, we were able to stay cool. breakfast. Choose from rice porridge, white rice, or fermented brown rice, and get unlimited refills. I enjoyed three. I could feel the thoughtfulness of the host, who said, "Please return home in good spirits." Staff at the store are very kind. On the way home, I received a map of delicious soba restaurants. I went to the No. 1 soba restaurant, but it was only for customers with reservations because it was Sunday. I went to other soba restaurants written on the map, but Tamanoyu's dinner soba was more delicious. Lol The quality of all the dishes I received at Tamanoyu is so high that I'm worried about cooking at home from tomorrow. Lol I thought it was a really nice inn from a female perspective. Appearance, taste and quantity of food. As an aside, the three days and two nights I stayed in Nagano Prefecture were extremely comfortable. Is it because I ate soba noodles day and night? I searched online and found that soba is rich in dietary fiber and is very good for intestinal activity. The gourmet food at the ryokan energized me, and while I bought some soba noodles as a souvenir, I thought it would be great if I could visit Tamanoyu again tomorrow, taking care of my health. Among the hot spring inns I've been to so far, it was a highly satisfying inn competing for 1st and 2nd place. I am sure there will be a return visit.

Arrived a little early, the parking lot is across the street from the inn, so I left my luggage and moved by myself (it seems that they will also provide valet service, but it is a corona disaster). Soba tea and Rokusuke Ei's design? The impression is that the check-in procedure is done at the smiling hot spring manju, temperature measurement, questionnaire, etc. Please note that the room key is not an auto-lock. Although it has deteriorated over time, the key points have been renovated in a modern Japanese style, and it is easy to use. There is a king size bed and a massage machine in 35 square meters, and I was completely healed by enjoying the hot spring. Speaking of Japanese modern, there are many places where the ceramic bowl of the washbasin is small, but this seems to be able to make soba noodles? Large thing is installed and is ◎ personally. The food is delicious, from the appetizer to the main Shinshu beef and the soba noodles at the end. I was very satisfied with the quantity and quality of salt-grilled fish, tempura, and assorted pickles. The service was also good with a friendly feeling without being overwhelmed. The hot spring was tasteless and odorless, and it was nice to have a soft feeling, but is it a cypress in the large public bath? The floor of the open-air bath is slippery, so be careful. The free private open-air bath takes 40 minutes, and you need to be careful when the wind is strong. There was a jacuzzi button on the wall, so it stopped after about 10 minutes, so it was hard to go to press the button every time. I had a good time soaking in the bathtub and looking at the sky. There was a mini-concert after dinner, but I didn't participate due to the corona crisis, and I think it's a project that I definitely want to participate in after the corona is over.
