Go from the front desk to the back and cross the bridge on the river and enter the building with the room. It is a clean and rustic inn. In addition to the open-air bath and the public bath, there are 6 rental baths that are aimed at each. The bath is free to enter if it is empty rather than a reservation system. It is also convenient to be able to confirm ”empty” on the TV in the room. The meal is served in a private room prepared for each room near the front desk in the morning and evening. It was not a menu that was aimed at, but it was a dish with a feeling of handmade. From the pick-up, the guide, the meal waiter and one person were in charge. I had a service that matched the pace of the customer without hurrying. In the morning, he was sent to the master of the inn and received a handwritten thank you later.

It is a secret hot water near Kurokawa Onsen. When I stopped at the parking lot, the inn was greeted and guided immediately. There is a semi open-air bath away from all rooms. I stayed in a room called a day of forest, where I can see bamboo forest from the bath. The bath on the room is a small inn, but this is a wide rock bath, and it was the best inn I have ever used. It was also good that the bedroom and toilet was away. The family bath along the river was very hot, so the temperature was considerably lowered by water. The large bath near the mother's house, where the atmosphere stairs were down, was good in the morning and night, and it was three times, but it was rental. The meal was very delicious with morning and evening thoughts. However, it was a pity that the person in charge was a new rice, so there was no explanation of the dish. There was an explanation from the lady general at breakfast. (I think dinner books are required.) Especially rice is excellent. I returned for the first time. I heard the brand to the lady general on the way back. When I returned, I was brought with a different tea bowl and I thought my care was great. Because it was spring festival, I thought it would be ruined if there was a person in a country with a large voice, but I was able to spend very quietly at the dining room. I thought that maybe even the inn was thinking... And the dryer in the room is weak. Amenities are substantial. I was happy that there was cleaning, lotion and cotton swab in the public bath. The phone can't see the email unless you go out. The price is also reasonable compared to a famous inn nearby. During the day, stop by hot springs nearby, and if you stay here, it is the best!

We had a wonderful one-night stay at this onsen ryokan. Hospitality: The staff came to the carpark to greet us as soon as we arrived. We waited at the bar area with green tea. The reception staff could communicate well in English. Onsen: Our room had an indoor bathtub/onsen so we could enjoy anytime. We could book a free 50-min private family onsen, which was outdoor with a nice view. The public onsen (indoor and outdoor) was available 24-hour (except for the 15-min cleaning time at 9pm each night). We went at night so couldn't see much of the outdoor view there. Food: Our package included dinner and breakfast, both traditional Japanese style. We're very full! Room/environment : There was 10 detached units and ours was one of them. All traditional style with tatami and futon for sleep. Dinner is served at the restaurant and each room seems to have a private / segregated section so we didn't see other guests while eating. The whole place is not big and not much to do, but you feel like surrounded by greenery.

It features both Japanese and western style rooms, all of which have a constant flow of water from the spring. The hotel features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths in which guests can relax while enjoying the surrounding mountain scenery. The hotel prides itself on its food and uses local meat and home grown vegetables to make creative dishes which taste great and look stunning.

A quiet remote inn in Okukurokawa. There are only 8 rooms in the vast land. Because each room has a bath, I don't meet people in the large open-air bath, and I rarely meet people in the hotel. The room is a calm Japanese-style room. The floor I stayed on was on the 2nd floor, but when I opened a door, I went down the stairs to the 1st floor from here and went to the indoor bath. The bathroom is filled with steam and is a hot spring that flows directly from the source. The service is also substantial. Welcome fruit was prepared in the refrigerator. The food is also vegetables from the home vegetable garden and locally produced Japanese beef. The rice is also delicious with locally produced ”Akigeshiki”. It was a satisfying hotel in everything.

Ryokan with our spectacular. The hotel is very close to the hotel with a person at the entrance, indicating where to park, very close reception that explains everything and accompany you to the room, with tea service and sweets nothing more to reach. The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre and is located in the heart of the city centre. I made a reservation to visit Kurokawa Onsen Village. I came by bus and was worried about getting to the accommodation, but after contacting the friendly host, I was able to go back and forth more comfortably! : ) The accommodation is also really nice! The air is so good in nature and the surrounding scenery is so beautiful. The inside of the accommodation is cozy and clean, and most of all, the host is very friendly. The charm of a guesthouse is interacting with people! I met 6 or 7 people during the two nights I was there, and it was really fun to get together at the accommodation and chat together in the evening after everyone had finished their schedules! I will definitely come back next time with my friends. Thank you so much to the host!

The service staff was very friendly, we received us at the main entrance when we arrived by car, helped with our luggage, led us into the restaurant, and introduced us to various ingredients and cooking methods. The cooking method for dinner is very special, setting up a fire on the sand and barbecuing, the taste is very unique. After the meal, lead us to the room and explain one by one, very professional. The location is relatively remote, but it can be regarded as a feature. The hotel has a public bath, but we didn't go because there is a private bath in the room and the water temperature is very comfortable. Compared with other high-priced brand hotels, the price is really first-class, but the location is really remote.

We stayed for one night from July 9 (Sat) and stayed with a couple in the Japanese style room ”Nikwa” on the third floor. The purpose of this time was to touch the nature of ASO and to feel the liberation and to soak in a hot spring with good quality of springs. The room was more modern and sophisticated than I thought and more than expected. It was a room that was renewed last year. What I was worried about was that the closet was an old Japanese house, and it smelled mold without lighting, and the mattress on the bed was a little too hard, and the view was not good even on the third floor. The bath was a pure source hanging water, which did not heating, water or circulation, and the hot water temperature was just right, and it was a very good quality hot spring as rumored. However, the size is small and there is no open-air bath. I also used ”taruyu” in the rental bath, but it was well maintained and very comfortable. The meal was ”red beef steak seat”. There were many items and all were very delicious, but I thought that the red beef of the heart was a little fat and the mountain woman fish was quite small. The service was made to be a woman from Nepal, but there were several points that I was worried about, such as vertically distributing rectangular dishes of incense. I think this is a problem of staff training. Overall, it is a very old established inn with a very historical style, and it is well understood that it is carefully maintained, and it is thought that it is a hot spring inn with a taste. I felt that the charm of this inn was exhausted by the word ”good quality hot spring”.

A traditional onsen hotel, recently renovated and facilities modernised. The twin bed room is large - about 50 sq m in size. In addition, there is a balcony overlooking an excellent view. The breakfast and dinner buffet are fine, though not very special. I like the Japanese style dinner better. The hotel is situated inside the mountain. Access is not easy. There are no shops nearby.

We found a good deal on the web site, which included discounts for having proof of vaccines, plus coupons totaling ¥8,000. I think the coupons were part of the ”Go To Travel” campaign. These coupons could only be used in Oita prefecture, by the next day. The hotel has a grand, luxurious appearance and feel, but also feels dated. After check-in, we took the shuttle bus to the outside onsen (about 5 minutes away). This was included in the price (I am not sure if it is actually owned by the hotel. There is a fee for people who are not staying at the hotel). This onsen was glorious! All the baths are outside, surrounded by trees and nature. The only caveat is that there were many stairs going down to the onsen. I did not expect that at all, and it was not easy on my knees (no problem for my partner). The other onsen in the hotel (there were two) also involved walking (it is as large hotel), and some stairs too. The floors in the onsen seemed more slippery than I remember any other onsen I have visited before. Dinner was buffet style. Due to COVID restrictions, we had to get our temperature checked, and wear plastic gloves while serving ourselves (there was a box at the table, and a container for disposal of them). The seating was partitioned, and it was very comfortable. Even though it was a buffet, there were 3 choices for seating: 5:00 pm, 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm, with a 90 minute limit. The food was good, but my partner had to stand in line at a station for freshly prepared meat for 30 minutes. Breakfast was served in the same place as dinner. We got a lower-priced deal, and our room was on the 1st floor. The hallway was a little dark compared to the other floors (which we had to access for the front desk/entrance to the hotel and to get to the dining area and the onsen). To me, there was a musty smell that my partner did not notice. The place is older, and it is right next to the river, and it was the middle of Japanese (humid) summer, and I assume not all the rooms are like this. There was a can of roach spray in the closet (which thankful we did not need!), and requests not to open the windows to prevent bugs from getting in the room. The sound and site of the river outside the window was wonderful. The beds (two twin beds) were comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. It was my partner's 50th birthday, so we mentioned this to see if they had any thing special (even for an extra charge). They gave a card and a plastic rose (I think the rose was for the birthday), but said they did not have anything else. The water pot already had hot water in it when we arrived. I appreciate that. They also had the kind of coffee in which you open the single pack, put it over the cup (good size, not tiny like some places) and pour hot water on it (like a one cup drip coffee- not instant). I often travel with these types of coffee packs as a lot of hotels in Kyushu only have instant coffee or none at all in the rooms. The

MMrjekalAlthough the location is in the mountains and the road to get there by car is rough. I am very satisfied with the room condition and size. The surrounding scenery is very beautiful, but because it is deep in the mountains, the air is on a different level. The Finnish sauna and bathtub facilities are luxurious, and all appliances for dining are provided. There's also a beam project, so it's a good place to spend time. It would have been nice if they had informed me in advance that check-in would be done without anyone and that room check-in instructions would be sent via email. Unlike ryokans, breakfast and dinner are not provided, but you can get them at the nearby Kurokawa Onsen. The surrounding scenery was so beautiful and the air was clean, so my parents who took me there were very satisfied. As I was checking out, I saw a raccoon running and the kids were screaming with excitement. I'm planning a return visit and I think it would be a good idea to stay for more than 2 nights.

LLareina__Because of the unreliable reservation of agoda, I made a reservation here at the last minute. But I didn't expect it to be such a great experience. It is a separate accommodation. Meals will be delivered to the main hotel. It is a little off the beaten track. It is near Oku-no-Yu. The room is big and has a private bath. The old man serving is very talkative. GGuest UserIt’s not a luxury ryokan and there’s only a few pictures and little info about the room. I don’t know what to expect but the photos taken by other guests around the property were truly beautiful. I stayed in the room “Shion” and it was one of the five (?) rooms that contained an en-suite bathroom. It looked like a dated traditional Japanese room in the hotel’s website, though I know that this ryokan was actually built and opened in the 90s, not an old property at all. It was located next to the nicely decorated coffee room, vending machines and close to the reception area. Dining place was just a little further. All connected under one roof. This is very important for us since it was rainy on the day we checked in. I was satisfied with the room’s decor. The room was more spacious than expected. Clean, cozy with a lovely scent of tea in the air. The in-room foot bath unique to this room was a nice touch and it was more convenient than those Kotatsu-style foot bath. We enjoyed it very much. The irori was not fired with charcoal but was covered. The arrangement is good since the charcoal fired hearth will make the room stuffy. I usually don’t like sleeping on tatami, but I slept soundly that night with the fluffy futon . Also I don’t hear any noise from the neighboring room or the traffic outside. This is not a top-tiered ryokan. You may well be aware that the number, size and quality of the towels provided cannot compare to those luxurious properties. There was no free mini-bar but just vending machines. The in-room rock bath was small and rough. There’s no butler, of course. If you have problem adjusting the temperature of your bath, you have to tell them before dinner. Dinner time is fixed at 1800 and you will certainly see other guests when you step out of your room. Nevertheless, our stay was comfortable. Staffs were polite and hospitable. The room was equipped with good heating devices, a fully automated toilet, a powerful hairdryer, and some good quality skincare, hair & body wash, which I wanted to buy. I was pleasantly surprised by these. The public and private baths were located in another side of the main building, where you need to pass through an outdoor moss-covered courtyard. We didn’t go to the public open-air bath but had checked out the private indoor baths, they’re rustic, just a bath & without any other facilities but looked interesting. Meals were served in a private room in the restaurant. It didn’t come with horse sashimi, crab, lobster or other sumptuous ingredients but it tasted good. The add-on premium Akashi beef, however, was not impressive. I decided to stay at a ryokan near the Kawabata street just because of the Yu Akari. However it turned out to be a very good experience though I still didn’t like to bump into other guests during my stay. Oyado Nishiyu is a great choice and the property has done a good job making their guests comfortable.

1131anthonyjIt was a quiet inn a little far from the center of the hot spring town. There seems to be a transfer service to the center of the hot spring town. You can go to the center in about 15 minutes on foot on the slope. I stayed in a Mezzone type room. On the 1 floor, there is an inner bath and an open-air bath, a washroom and a toilet, and a massage machine, so you can spend it with nonbilli. The inner bath and the open-air bath are connected by the door, but the underside of the door is open, and the washing place of the inner bath was cold this season. There were other large open-air and rental open-air baths, and I enjoyed the bath. Dinner was very delicious and satisfied with both mass. The service is well served and it is a popular inn. There were many breakfasts and rice, and of course the rice was delicious and satisfied. I think it was a good inn because I want to be nonbillied in the inn. I want to stay in a flat house type room this time.

Cchinaa41Meals and services are as others write. Kurokawa Onsen is 3 degrees. At first, it seems to be abolished like thinking ”is this abolition village?” before this became popular, and the hot spring was good but rough, and the inn was bad, and it was the end of the hearing from Nakai San about the bad mouth of other inn. After that, it became popular what happened, and when it revisited, it was issued by the inn as' hot water bill ', and people other than the guests could enjoy hot springs. ”It became a good hot spring area.” I thought so. ... but it is a little change, but the competition consciousness between the inn feels like a nose. There were some impossible times for the time to put the hot water bill and the time to use it, and it was difficult to use. It's small, so there's no way to do it now, but I'm worried that I feel a disturbing wind just knowing when it was abolished.

JjojopengStayed for 3D2N from 11 June to 13June 2019 with our Family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children aged 13,10 and 9. We drove from Hakata , took abt 3 hours for us to drive here as we stop by an Aeon mall halfway to stock up our supplies and the meat for our BBQ dinner. Our chalet is just beside the check in area, also near the public onsen and camp site . If u are at this resort, do go to the campsite to admire the magnificent view of Mount Aso and the surroundings. It's so beautiful! Sunrise is at 4.30am... For 2 consecutive morning , I woke up at 5am to take a walk and view the sunrise. I'm lucky that the first sunrise was a cloudy day , watching the sun rays shining through the clouds, looking at the clouds evolving into different shapes falling on the mountains... Every moment is a beautiful picture... The next sunrise was a clear sky, I could see mount Aso clearly with some smoke coming out , the beautiful sun rays falling on the mountains and pine trees forest makes me feel like I'm in a painting. And lucky me, I spotted a group of 4 wild horses from afar . They were at the valley and slowly made their way up and were really close to the camping ground. So blessed to see them upclose. After my morning walk, I would go to the public onsen to have a soak. There is a female and a male onsen area, they would switch the area everyday. The public onsen will be closed from 9am for cleaning and switching side. Reopened in the afternoon during check in time. Although there is a private onsen in our chalet, it's good to experience the beautiful public onsen area... As I'm early, there's no one in the public onsen. So I have the onsen to myself. Cooling temperature abt 22-25 degrees in the morning, soaking in the hot outdoor onsen is such a luxury. BBQ dinner: we have a BBQ pit right at our door step. We paid 2,000 yen to have the BBQ equipment for the first night BBQ dinner. It's advisable to stock up your supply before u reach the mountain area. There are a few Aeon malls along the expressways from Hakata to Kurokawa onsen area. We bought some beef, pork and Vege and marshmallow. Although we only arrived at around 5pm, settling down then setup the fire etc, we manage to get everything started by 8pm.The kids enjoyed and we all had a good dinner. It's really a special experience for us as BBQ in a cold weather is so much enjoyable than in the hot humid Singapore . The chalet : we have a living room with a large low table as the dining table, a TV , a toilet , a fully equipped kitchen, a fridge , a rice cooker, toaster oven, microwave oven, pots pans, utensils, kettle. There is also a air purifier and air-conditioning units. The futon beds are on the 2nd level. There's total 5 beds for us. We have to lay our bedsheets and pillow covers. Towels are also provided. No house keeping service throughout our stay. We did not drive out during the 3days 2 nights. I brought a picnic mat, so brought the kids for a picnic at the campsite area. Being city kids they

GGuest UserWhen I went to Aso for the first time, I was worried about this open-air bath. The location is Kurokawa Onsen (it is also included in the hot spring bill of Kurokawa Onsen, but the location is far from Kurokawa Onsen). There was also a pool, it was an ordinary pool, but the surroundings are just overlooking the plateau, and the cows in the distance? It is a wonderful view to see and see. The drinks in the lounge were machines, so they were not very delicious. The buffet, which I didn't usually do, was done at this time, so it was helpful for my children (there was a color 々 that made my children happy). After all, this open-air bath was more liberating than I had imagined! It was nice no matter what time I entered. Also, my best memory was the starry sky observation session at night. I was really impressed by the starry sky I saw while listening to the guide's explanation outside. I'm glad I stayed at this hotel!

GGuest UserWhat a perfect service with nice and kind owners. The owner can pick you up at the bus stop for free if you want. The price of stay was cheap and reasonable and they provide you with Japanese traditional style meal with reasonable prices as well. I would recommend this Ryokan. I wish I could visit this again.
