This B&B is a truly magical place for photo opportunities. 📍Location: Gung Nong Village, Ganzi.
Directly facing the Yala Snow Mountain, with breathtaking grassland views and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, every window is a frame, making every shot a masterpiece. At night, you can even use the terrace to capture the starry sky and snow-capped mountains with long exposures.
The room has floor heating and air conditioning, and the 270-degree snow-capped mountain view is right before your eyes. The housekeeper was incredibly attentive, providing afternoon tea and warm milk. The food at the B&B exceeded expectations, and the matsutake mushroom and chicken soup hotpot was truly delicious. If you're in Gung Nong Village, Shanyu is a great choice. The scenery is breathtaking. [Highly recommended]

GGuest UserWe had an excellent stay here. The host and staff are super kind and caring. My partner was suffering from the altitude when we arrived and they immediately set us up with an oxygen concentrator. He felt better almost immediately. We are thankful they had one! They kept checking in on our health throughout our entire stay.
We had a beautiful big room on the fourth floor with views of Mt. Yala and life around the river. Loved the in floor heating. Even if you don't get a room on the 4th floor, there is a sitting area up with the view. The hotel is close to the main street, 10 minute walk to Tagong Monastery, 20 minute walk to the study monastery and 5 minute walk to the trail which leads up over the grasslands to Ani Gompa and Muya Dasi.
We can't thank the host and staff enough - they made a delicious hotpot on our first night, looked after us everyday and found us a ride onto Danba. They and we managed the English translation apps enough that we could work through the language barrier.

GGuest UserThis hotel was good except for the disappointment about the gym. We booked this hotel specifically out of others in kangding as it was written on booking that the hotel offers a gym. We are on a training program and need a gym. When we arrived and asked about the gym they said that the gym had not been opened yet. When I asked why they advertise themselves as hotel with a gym the response was “we used to have a gym, now it’s under renovation because some of the equipment is out of use”, and when I asked if I still could use what equipment that was working, the response was simply no and that I can go to an outdoor exercise area outside in the freezing cold. So rude! Except for this the hotel was totally fine, nice rooms and good breakfast. Just don’t advertise what you don’t have online, it leaves costumers dissatisfied even if the rest was good.

GGuest UserCame here on a friend's recommendation, and it was excellent, truly exceeding our expectations. We were traveling with our family. The hotel called us ahead of time to provide parking details. The parking staff were incredibly warm and helpful, guiding us with parking and even assisting with the check-in process. The rooms were quiet and spacious, making them perfect for families. Parking was also extremely convenient, and we even had the chance to visit Qingge Square and Liuliu City. The front desk staff were highly professional and knew the Chuanxi scenic spots inside out. They even customized a travel itinerary specifically for us. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next visit. Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe B&B is right next to 318, but not on the highway. Instead, it is in a yard a few dozen meters back from the highway. There are a few houses in front of it, which just blocks the noise from passing cars on 318. Parking is easy, almost all rooms face the distant mountain view, and the rooms on the first floor are not damp at all and have no odor. The appearance of the homestay is unremarkable, but the rooms are eye-catching: 1. The standard rooms are large enough, with bright windows, blackout curtains, and rich three-dimensional light sources. 2. Very clean and tidy. 3. The bathroom is spacious, with dry and wet areas separated. Two people can take a bath at the same time. The hand sanitizer is much more convenient than a piece of soap. There is plenty of hot water, and they thoughtfully provide free disposable toilet seats. 4. There are many sockets in the room, enough for two people to use various electronic devices. The ******* proprietress is friendly and enthusiastic.
The restaurant is on the third floor and the kitchen is very clean and tidy. The prepared breakfast includes butter tea, porridge, steamed buns, pickles, and eggs. It is quite pleasant to sit by the window and eat breakfast while enjoying the scenery outside. Having written so much, it seems that I am really satisfied.

The night view outside the window is charming, and you can see the brilliant lights of Kangding City. The underfloor heating was incredibly warm – I didn't feel cold at all! The guesthouse hostess was incredibly warm and friendly. I'm usually a bit introverted, but her proactive greeting made me feel completely at ease. For breakfast, she served homemade porridge, eggs, steamed buns, and twisted rolls. The steamed sweet potatoes were exceptionally soft, tender, and sweet – so delicious I almost asked her where she bought them! Next time I'm in Kangding, I'll definitely stay here again!

JJake Vaughan 杰克Amazing hostel with cozy interior and a really lovely host who made the stay extra enjoyable! The location was ideal for me as the hostel is high enough up the hill that you get an stunning view but still only have to walk around 10 minutes (up/down hill) to get to the centre of the city. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the common area for relaxing is beautifully decorated in traditional ******* style. The host was really helpful and caring (always bringing us tea and snacks) and we had some great conversations with her about life in Kangding. She gave us lots of advice on what to do in the city, helped us out organizing cheap transport back to Chengdu, and even made us a super unique and delicious fusion meal of yak steak with salad. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere with a traditional feel and a great view!
