Our family had a wonderful impression of Tambun Retreat after our one-night stay. The hotel offers a serene and comfortable environment, surrounded by lush greenery, providing a perfect escape from city noise. Our room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped, making our stay very pleasant. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel well looked after. There are plenty of attractions and dining options nearby, and transportation is also very convenient. Although it was only a one-night stay, our overall experience was extremely satisfying, a relaxing and lovely memory. We will definitely choose to stay here again if we visit Ipoh in the future.

I found this place through Xiaohongshu and decided to give it a try. Personally, I feel it might be a little overrated. We chose the room type on the lower floor, and the room felt quite small. For a similar price, there may be other options that offer more space. I also noticed quite a bit of dust in different areas of the room. As someone with a sensitive nose, it wasn’t very friendly for me as I kept sneezing during the stay. The bathroom was fine when it was dry and there wasn’t much smell. However, after taking a shower, there was quite a strong odor that became noticeable and a little uncomfortable. The small courtyard area is nice for photos, but there were ants and quite a lot of spider webs, which made it feel like it hadn’t been cleaned for some time. On the positive side, the dessert and breakfast were very nice. The breakfast portion was generous and the welcome dessert was also lovely. Overall, I hope more attention can be given to cleanliness and maintenance, as it would definitely improve the experience.

A mountain-view room that purifies the soul. The air was fresh and humid after the rain. Swimming at the foot of the mountain was a great escape from the heat. Playful long-tailed macaques roam around. The security guards were also very friendly and helpful. Great value for money and a wonderful host – I accidentally left some personal belongings behind, and both the host and security guards promptly helped me communicate and retrieve them. Looking forward to enjoying life at The Cove again next time! ❤️⛰️

A great stay for my family. The unit is clean and spacious enough for us. 1 parking slot is provided and it is near the lobby. Check in was easy too. Owner was quick to response to my questions and requests. The kettle was malfunctioned and they give us another the next day despite it’s a weekend. My boy had so much fun at the playground and swimming pool. Will come again if there’s a chance.

Apartment Features: The apartment I stayed in was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed. It had an open-concept layout that combined a comfortable living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy dining nook. The kitchen had all the essentials—fridge, stove, microwave, and even a washing machine, making it perfect for longer stays. The living room had a large flat-screen TV and comfy seating, creating a great space for relaxation. The bedroom was cozy with a large, comfortable bed, and the bathroom had a clean, modern feel with a spacious shower and high-quality amenities. The air conditioning was a lifesaver, especially with Ipoh’s warm weather. Service: While staying at The Cove Hillside, I felt like I had the best of both worlds—privacy and comfort, but with access to excellent service. The staff was incredibly friendly, offering quick check-in/check-out and always willing to help with any requests. Housekeeping was efficient, keeping the apartment spotless during my stay. They also provided helpful information on local attractions, making it easy to explore the area. Amenities: One of the standout features of The Cove Hillside is the range of amenities. The infinity pool is absolutely breathtaking, offering sweeping views of the surrounding hills. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing. The fitness center is well-equipped with modern machines and free weights, great for staying in shape. There’s also a barbecue area that can be reserved for gatherings, which adds a nice touch for family or group stays. Plus, the complex is gated with 24-hour security, so I felt very safe and secure throughout my stay.

+ Strategic location, close to Ipoh train station and a mosque. - No elevator (this was already stated in the app). I requested a room on the first floor since I was traveling with my parents, but this couldn't be accommodated. As a result, we got a room on the second floor. It was very noisy at night with vehicle sounds, especially motorbikes, probably because of its location right on a crossroads.

I needed a place to stay for a quick business trip, and Hotel Pulai was perfect. The location was convenient for the place I needed to go. The prices were affordable, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly. Plus, free parking was a great bonus.

A special mention to the security guard downstairs, who was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which made the overall experience even better. However, there are a couple of areas that could be improved. The water pressure in the shower was extremely low—so much so that it made showering quite difficult and uncomfortable. Additionally, for a two-bedroom unit, only one access card was provided. This was quite inconvenient, as the card is required not only to enter the unit but also to use the elevator, making it challenging for multiple guests to move around freely. Overall, while the stay was comfortable and enjoyable in many aspects, addressing these issues would greatly enhance the guest experience.
