Quite satisfied and great location for the price! Location is great and almost walkable to major parts of central Kyoto. For example Nishiki Market 1 minute (but overpriced), Karasuma and shopping streets 1 minute, Hankyu train line for going Osaka or other places just 6 minute, Big local shopping malls like Fresco and LIFE or Takashimaya store just 10 minute. Moreover it is within walking distance to Gion area and Panchoto alley and river. Although the room is small, is convenient and bed was quite tall that myself as Big Caucasian 180+cm had no issue in size of bed. Shower and toilet also very clean and have all amenities included. Also the lobby is good to mingle or eat food as there is microwave available. The luggage can be kept free-of-charge after checkout if have Suica. Breakfast is a bit simple and at Datour. not bad, but maybe can take without breakfast for more flexibility.

Shampoo is fragrant, but people with long hair may need treatment. No face wash. Water is free, alcohol is sold in the lobby, but it is sold at the next road station and the price is the same. Alcohol is sold until 12:00 and you can't eat at the hotel, but there is a food court-like thing that is last ordered at 19:30 at the roadside station next door. There are lunch boxes and souvenirs at the roadside station, so I wonder if I can buy them and eat them at the hotel. There is no room to upgrade to a suite or something. If you don't come by car, you will have to take a bus to the nearest station, but it's about one in two hours.

The rooms are pure Japanese style, spacious and comfortable. There is a hot spring on the second floor. You can take a bath in the morning and evening, because the hotel does not have a few rooms, and it is very quiet. This is my favorite. When I checked in, the boss gave a guide map of the surrounding attractions, which was of great help to me. The surrounding attractions, Jingoji Temple, are within easy reach. Behind the hotel is the mountain road leading to Jingoji Temple. The fare is 600 yen. Nishikyo Temple is 5 minutes away. The fare is 500 yen. Takayama Temple is about 15 minutes away. I think it is a newly rebranded hotel. The room i had was very spacious. It is very near to Takashimaya and the train station. Also walking distance from the central shopping district. Centralized enough to visit a few of the famous sites in Kyoto.
