The Jarvis at 220

We enjoyed so much our stay from start to finish. Ian was such a wonderful host. His breakfast each morning was delicious and his advice on dining and sites of interest were spot on. The B&B is historic but the bedding and bathrooms are outstanding. The front porch was a wonderful spot to enjoy coffee and wine. Looking forward to returning!

Our host, Ian, was gracious and provided great advice about where to eat and what to do in town. The breakfasts were gourmet quality. Our room was spacious and attractively decorated. The bathroom was large and comfortable. The shower was a particular highlight.

My husband and I were lucky enough to find this gem in New Bern. It was our first time in New Bern and the Jarvis, but won't be our last. The accommodations were beyond expectations. This historical home is beautifully decorated and the rooms are comfortable and cozy. Everything we needed was there. The Innkeeper Ian is the best! Very lovely man that makes you feel at home and prepares the most wonderful breakfasts! He also gave great advice on the area and where to eat. We'll definitely be back!

Exceptional service and luxurious accommodations all within walking distance to the best restaurants in New York Bern! Ian, the Innkeeper, made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. He went above and beyond to prepare delicious breakfasts each morning and gave great suggestions for places to visit downtown. This was one of the best bed and breakfasts that we’ve stayed in! We will be back!

We had the pleasure of staying just one night at The Jarvis at 220, and we’re already dreaming of returning for a longer visit. This beautifully renovated historic home in the heart of New Bern is full of character and charm, with elegant decor and all the modern comforts you could ask for. Our bed was incredibly comfortable, and our room had a sweet little porch out front where we enjoyed morning coffee. The bathroom was a standout—huge, luxurious, and spa-like, a true treat after a day of exploring. Ian, the manager and breakfast chef, was a highlight—warm, welcoming, and full of great stories. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and made us feel like guests in a grand home. Although we were the only guests that night, the house felt vibrant and full of life. We can’t recommend The Jarvis at 220 highly enough for a romantic weekend getaway or even as a beautiful event venue. We’ll absolutely be back!

The Jarvis is a beautiful house. It was like being in my own home( maybe nicer!). The decor is beautiful. It is a restored old home and not one detail was missed. The beds and linens were luxurious. I am picky, I need a nice firm bed with fluffy linens. This was just that. The bathroom was restored to modern efficiency with a full walk in shower but still eclectic. Coffee was ready early, and we enjoyed it on the front porch. Breakfast was not a buffet, but eggs benedict served hot. The town is completely walkable from the house. Great place for a cozy getaway. We will definitely go back.

At first entrance, my husband and I were immediately impressed by the elegance and beauty of the rooms and the warm welcome by Inn Keeper, Ian. We were no less impressed with our room (The Bruin). Our room was elegant and King Bed extremely comfortable with ample pillows and separate temperate control. Bathrobe and slippers in the closet for added comfort. Our bathroom (though a single sink) was ample for two but the HUGE and beautiful walk-in shower was an added bonus. Stay for the Breakfast! Extremely delicious and cooked by Chef Ian, who goes out of his way to accommodate your every wish. We will return!

This was our first visit to New Bern and we were so pleased that we selected the Jarvis at 220 for our one-night stay. It is memorable because the innkeeper, Ian, is a welcoming gracious host and made us a delightful breakfast in the morning. The rooms are all immaculate and beautifully appointed with gorgeous antiques. We stayed in the Jarvis Room and the extra-comfy king bed had beautiful linens. The bathroom was huge with separate sinks and filled with nearly all the toiletries you could ask for. It was a pleasure to meet and get to know Ian and we hope to stay there again on a future trip!
