Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina Resort is one of the best hotel and experience I had. The location is great which easy access to both north and south part of the island. Facilities are the best, especially the water activities. We tried almost all marine activities and all are great. Staff are wonderful and really helpful. They helped me from the day I book the hotel, marine activities arrangements, room service, and front desk. We definitely will come back to meet the great staff and hotel.

We went during off peak season so the outdoor pool facilities were not open. Nonetheless we had a really nice time at the hotel, my daughters really enjoyed the beach and the art&craft activities. Breakfast options were great too. We def want to return again in summer to experience it in full!
Lots of dining options within walking distance from the hotel as well. There’s also a nice playground 2 min drive away. Very good base for the mid/ north part of Okinawa travel.

The hotel is very good and the staff are proactive. English standard is not too high. However, the staff are polite and give prompt service. Some hotel directional signage is unclear. However, it is a good 5-star hotel. Comfortable and worth staying.

Halekulani Okinawa has definitely exceeded our expectations, mainly by the following reasons:
Service:
The hotel offered great first impressions to us, as mango smoothies were offered to us during check in, which was a nice touch to the experience of having a tropical feel even before exploring the whole resort. Also, we were given a free upgrade by the hotel workers, which definitely leveled up our experience.
Design:
The hotel has used the same design as the resort in Hawaii, including the signature orchid flower pool. This really made our family feel like we have been instantly transported into a tropical paradise. The hotel has also been designed to mix in with the spectacular view of the sea and sunset.
Size of the hotel:
Halekulani has a total of 5 pools, 2 blocks of buildings, which gives us a good time to actually explore the hotel instead of knowing what’s where in one single glance.

The hotel decoration is a little old, but it is very clean and gives people a very comfortable feeling! The public facilities are comparable to 5 stars, and the restaurant, swimming pool, beach, and rest area are all great; the hotel has a particularly strong natural atmosphere, and the dense vegetation is the result of years of maintenance; there are two indoor and outdoor swimming pools in the hotel, and the white sand beach has fine sand. The only ”regret” is that it has been calm and there are no waves these days. It is worth mentioning that the breakfast included in the hotel can be replaced with a buffet lunch, and snow crabs can be eaten to your heart's content. Children under 5 years old are free, and you can directly use the ”meal ticket” to eat in the morning or at noon. In terms of transportation, the airport's LIM-C or LIM-CD can reach the hotel entrance, which is convenient for back and forth, and you need to buy a ticket. As for the shortcomings mentioned in some reviews, such as the curtains not blocking light, low water pressure, etc., the problems do exist but are acceptable. I wake up naturally at 8 am Japan time and 7 am Beijing time every day. The only thing worth noting is that the air conditioning in the room is very cold, and those who are afraid of cold need to pay attention. One of the very good experiences so far is worth writing so many words!

This is a beautiful resort hotel. I like the room, the service, the breakfast and the hotel surroundings.
Staff at the front desk are so warm and helpful. When we notify them there's a problem with the bathroom door, the repairman is there within 5 minutes to fix it.
The breakfast buffet has such a large spread, Okinawan, western, Japanese and the English tea is of very high quality.
The hotel is only a short distance to Cape Manzamo and Cape Zanpa and also not a long drive to Churaumi Aquarium, so the location is quite convenient if you want to visit these places. There's a big parking lot within walking distance for the hotel guests.
I wish that I can return to this hotel some time in the future.

Outstanding
Ppoco nyanThe facility was clean and stylish everywhere.
It was helpful that they provided a baby bed, diaper trash can, step stool, and even children's body soap.
Also, since we were traveling with a child, the in-room washing machine was very useful.
Since we had a baby, it was comfortable to stay in a clean room where he could crawl.
The breakfast buffet was really great, and the seafood bowl that you can make yourself was popular. There were also Okinawan dishes, Ryukyu porridge, and Okinawa soba.
The salad corner had thick, beautiful salmon! It was very delicious.
There was also a wide variety of bread, including churros.
There was also a Western-style side dish corner and a rice accompaniment corner.
I had it for breakfast, but it seems that you can change it to a lunch buffet for free.
A kind staff member asked me if I wanted to take a family photo near the pool.
When I asked for eco-cleaning, I received a 500 yen ticket that can be used in the hotel. There were snacks sold next to the restaurant, and there was a convenience store in the facility that sold drinks, snacks, and souvenirs, so I used it there.
The large public bath only has one bathtub, but it was spacious and relaxing.
I'd like to go again!
GGuest UserWe could not contact the host when we arrived. We had waited over an hour until we contacted the CS of Trip.com. And CS couldn’t contact the host too.
We waited almost two hour until CS did contact the host. This was a very bad experience for us.
But luckily the place is good. Huge, clean and lovely view. And the beach is just in front of us. Nice sun set.
If you have enough patient for waiting and the noisy sound from the bike at midnight. I will recommend you to stay.
AAnonymous UserWonderful hosts.I stayed in the attached two-story townhouse. Upstairs was a roomy bedroom with 3 big-sized single beds. Downstairs had a new bathtub/shower combo in the bathroom. and roomy kitchen had all modern amenities and served as the family room. Great outdoor space for a BBQ or just to relax with some snacks and drinks. Best part was my dog could enjoy being inside and outside with no restrictions. Just be considerate with your pet. (pay pet fee upon check-in ¥1,100) Breakfast was delicious.
BbagbbakiIt's a good value resort located in Onna Village in the central part of the country.
I hate small rooms, so I looked around to find a relatively spacious place.
There were two double beds, a large living room, and even a large refrigerator.
I really liked the jacuzzi.ㅎㅎ
I stayed for 3 nights, rented a car, and went around here and there. In the evening, I wore slippers and pajamas and went around eating at various places starting from Onna Village Izakaya.
There was a convenience store nearby, so I filled the refrigerator with Orion beer.
I had a hearty 3 nights.ㅎㅎ
The breakfast was clean and good. It was better than a buffet.
NNuonuokafeiRenaissance Hotel has a very holiday atmosphere. There are more than 5 dolphins, a group of manta rays, several big turtles, many birds, and two poor little kangaroos on the beach. I arrived at 12:30 and checked in first. I could get the room card at 2 o'clock and check in. Check out at 11 o'clock. I didn't participate in any paid projects. In winter, boat activities such as watching the sunset yacht and the glass boat watching small fish are closed. The others are touching dolphins and feeding manta rays. It's okay not to participate in them. I went to see three dolphins swimming in the shallow sea first, and some were locked in a small area. Those who didn't make an appointment in the small area could not enter but could watch from a distance. They would perform circling and other projects. There are three restaurants in the hotel and three outside. The room I booked includes breakfast and dinner. For dinner, I made an appointment for the sushi restaurant buffet at the front desk. There are few seats and make an appointment in advance for the first show at 5:30. The quality is very good. There was tuna that day. The dining order was good and super satisfied. For breakfast, I went to the buffet restaurant on the first floor. First, find the staff to get a number, or scan the code to get a number. This store is open until 10 o'clock and the buffet breakfast on the second floor is open until 9:30. There are many people but there are Internet-famous turtle bread and hand-squeezed orange juice. At first glance, there is nothing to eat, but everything is delicious. There are more children in this restaurant than on the second floor, and they are noisy. The sea view of the Renaissance Hotel room is not as good as that of the Monterey Hotel. Its view faces the play area. The room is a bit old, the shower station is in the bathtub, the toilet is in the shower room, and the towel is placed on it. The toilet is not separated separately, which is very unhygienic. The curtains are not shading, and the windows are not soundproof. There is a loud noise when someone is racing in this area. Overall, because there are dolphins here, the price is reasonable, and the food is excellent, it is worth a five-star recommendation.
55anThe hotel is conveniently located in Onna Village. Facilities and amenities were great. Car park, gym, swimming pool, sauna, restaurant, food stands, and plentiful leisurely space. Room was spacious and could accommodate up to four persons. It came with a washing machine-cum-dryer, cooking utensils and crockery. Great for family vacations. Self check-in and checkout. If I had to name one thing that I was most unhappy with, that’s gotta be the cockroaches in the communal areas of the building. (We were absolutely fine with the spiders, geckos and grasshoppers though.)
GGuest UserWe had a great stay. We stayed 3 nights the first time and came back for another 3 nights. Hotel is close to Kadena AB. We were stationed there back in the late 80s and early 90s. Excellent breakfast. Attentive staff. We enjoyed the complimentary performance of Okinawan dance. We also hung out at the izakaya to listen to music. Hotel is beautiful. Loved it!
GGuest UserWe brought our 3+ years old boy on a 2 night stay during golden week (May 2024) and opted in for a dinner buffet on the first night. It was 2200 yen per adult n foc for my boy. The spread was limited but worth all its penny as the beef was so tender and juicy so i feasted on it. All other dishes were also very good.
The private beach was convenient and the water was so clear it looked like mineral water. There was a 50% discount voucher you can get from the hotel reception for the banana boat ride at the private beach and our boy enjoyed this and another ride. The young instructor who pulled us out on a jet ski for our water rides was friendly and went at a good speed for our 3 year old who was doing the water actitivties for the first time without us having to tell him to do so. He even went to the coral reefs and picked up a starfish n a sea cucumber to show our boy before returning it back to the sea. The water activites was affordable with the discount, price similar to Msia/Thailand/Indonesia resorts i have been to.
I was apprehensive booking this resort after reading the reviews on the state of the hotel showing signs of aging. However, the place was well maintained. There was an unpleasant smell when i opened the door to our room but its actually just the tatami which needed some airing. After opening the windows to let in the natural breeze, all was good. Cleaniness for toilet was good too; just need to figure out the temp control for the shower. The onsite onsen was clean and easily accessible at the basement, and wld have cost us at least 1200yen for a visit to a public onsite iin naha.
Totally recommend this resort for a fam outing with young children. I understand they have barrier free access rooms on the first floor of the resort so there were some families with elderly too.
TTezpezMy boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Ocean Resort PMC. The location is convenient if you have diving plans, with the diving drop-off point right next to the hotel. There's also a surf and diving shop and school below where you can ask about lessons and equipment. Although we had already booked our diving elsewhere, it was just an 8-minute drive away, and they even drove us back to the hotel, which was a bit amusing.
Overall, the stay was fair, but there are a few things to note. After 11 AM, the elevator is not available, and the parking lot is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. However, there's a 24/7 convenience store just across the street, which is very handy. The ground floor has a washing machine that all guests can use. After 11 PM, you have to use the stairs, which can be a bit scary as there's no light. The hotel has a kitchen, but it lacks basic utensils.
For the price, I felt like I could have picked somewhere better, but the location and amenities were decent enough for our needs.
AAnonymous UserPlace was a little harder to find at night as it is located in a remote area. The self check in was a little troublesome through trip as the check in code was not provided. Call the staff using the iPad to verify your identity. The room is big and relatively comfortable.
