A hotel that helps a colleague make a mistake. This family was good in all aspects of the evaluation and chose this family. The hotel's been making good comments. Nice position, too! Good recommendation!

Review: Extended Stay America 1951 Summit Tower Blvd Orlando (Maitland) FL 32810 General Manager Isabel Munoz We stayed here for 7 nights in March 2022 Location: Firstly, don't confuse this review with two other very nearby ESA hotels. Although the same brand, they can be quite different. Just north of Orlando, away from the ”attractions”, but very close to center city and the northern residential communities. Fast food restaurants across the street. Grocery within a mile. Other shopping within a couple of miles. The neighborhood is primarily upscale office buildings and residential; well lighted, quiet. We felt very safe here. Not much evidence of nearby public transportation. Outstanding health club complex (pools, ice rinks, basketball, tennis, pickleball, training) a short walk away, but pricey. The Hotel is older, and a bit on the ”budget” side (no ice machine, minimal free breakfast, no USB ports in the room), BUT... ...it's very well maintained. Our room and hallway were clearly recently refurbished, with fresh carpet and flooring, new paint on the walls (very professionally done), and everything works. We had a single queen suite, with kitchenette, dinette/desk, lounge chair, and isolated vanity and tub/shower. The exterior windows actually opened, the AC was quiet and powerful. Everything was clean. A coin-op laundry is on the 2nd floor, all machines worked. Internet basic was free, pay for upgrade (we used our Hotspot instead, 4 bars). Other features (that we didn't use): Outdoor pool, treadmills. Staff was friendly and responsive. We asked for and received basic cooking utensils; sometimes the room key card didn't work, but they were apologetic and quickly remedied the problem. Summary: this is a basic, but exceptionally well maintained hotel in a quiet neighborhood. My compliments to the Manager and Staff. We tipped them generously.

Very recommended to stay, cost-effective, the environment is very good. Beautiful environment, good geographical location, convenient transportation, comfortable and sanitary rooms, service staff are very enthusiastic, facilities are very humane, high-speed network signal is good, the view outside the window is good. The design of the room's small pendulum is also very distinctive. Next time, check in.

Orlando Downtown
My first impression of this property was very favorable. This is obviously an older Marriott property that has undergone a really nice refurbishment. Everything is updated from the lobby to the rooms to the M Club. I am a Bonvoy Platinum elite. I checked in on the mobile app and was pleasantly surprised that I was checked in promptly, however none of my room requests were met. High floor away from elevator are my preferences. High floor isn't a big deal but I was placed in a room directly adjacent to the elevator with no platinum upgrade. The room was very nice and updated and I was really happy with how well they had updated the rooms. My main gripe with this property was the poorly managed M Club with embarrassing food options. The breakfast was adequate and in line with most other M Clubs, however the evening hors d'oeuvres were embarrassing. On the Saturday evening of my stay the evening hors d'oeuvres were put out an hour late and when they finally were put out, the offering was frozen chicken strips (think kids meal at a restaurant) that were cold and the worst hard waffles that were obviously left over from breakfast (they serve the same waffles at breakfast). They were hard and cold. The person who set up the hors d'oeuvres didn't put out ANY serving utensils for any of the offerings. They also had very small platters of cheese, crackers and meats. There were so few crackers put out that they were gone in a minute. The person who set up the food went back to the front desk and never returned. The one other embarrassing miss for Marriot and their M Clubs is that they require guests to pay for drinks in the M Club. What a blow to their most loyal guests. Other competing brands offer complimentary evening happy hours. Overall this is a decent property, but they really need to step up their evening hors d'oeuvres game.

DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Downtown

Orlando Downtown
I spent two nights at the DoubleTree in Downtown Orlando as a result of being mandatorily evacuated due to Hurricane Ian. Most of the other people staying in the hotel were in a similar situation. I felt that the hotel did a good job of dealing with the huge surge of stressed out people. The DoubleTree wasn't our first choice, but when we decided to evacuate to Orlando, many other gulf coast Floridians were making similar choices, and we got turfed to this DoubleTree with a different Hilton property. The location is pretty good. It's close to downtown, close to the Lake Ivanhoe area, and close to I4. There were a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. The parking isn't exactly connected to the hotel, which wouldn't be a problem in non-hurricane situations. There was no valet when we arrived. There were staff available to help with bags, etc., although the person was helping the car in front of me, so I unloaded everything myself (which was fine). My parents were able to check in early for both rooms, and from what I observed in the lobby, they had enough staff that no one was waiting for too long for check in. They were definitely well stocked with bottled water and cookies for everyone checking in. We had two connecting rooms so that my parents could help with the kids and we could pool resources. The rooms have refrigerators which are pretty spacious. The rooms were a bit dated, but the beds were reasonably comfortable (although the pillows could have been more supportive), there was a practical set up of seating, and everything looked clean. Because the hotel was booked to full and because the Hurricane was going to go through Orlando as a tropical storm, there was no standard housekeeping available, but you could request new sheets/towels/amenities to be delivered to your room. I spoke with a bartender, and the Hilton had several employees who stayed in the hotel for the duration of the storm warning and storm to make sure that things were running for guests. I very much appreciated that they kept the kitchen (albeit with a very limited menu) and bar (full bar still available) running and that maintenance was available the whole time. While I didn't love the limited menu at the restaurant, at least we had the option of hot food! The hotel is on the same power grid at the local hospital, so we never lost power. The cable flickered a bit once the winds became strong. The window in my parents' room did spring a leak during the storm, but thankfully the amount of water that came in was manageable with a couple towels. The downstairs cafe and lobby became very waterlogged during the storm. But from a safety perspective, we all came through the storm. And when we elected to check out after two nights instead of the three we booked, the hotel graciously didn't charge us for the final night.
