The hotel is new and clean with excellent service, and has walkable distance to Thamel. There is security officer in hotel entrance which made me feel safe, and also a chinese restaurant with good quality of food. All of the staff can speak very well Chinese and English so communication is not a problem in the hotel. The most attractive point of the hotel is the owner å°ę˜Ž who is also a travel company owner. He helped me arranged airport transport, two-day Pokhara trip as well as one-day sunrise and city-sightseeing trip which were all very well organised with reasonable price. He speaks fluent Mandarin and I communicated with him via wechat for all the arrangements (just email the hotel to ask for his wechat). I can truly feel that the owner and all staff made best effort to make every visitor to feel warm and welcoming like a home. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kathmandu.

Pros Great location for exploring Themal and provided you are not too high up, you shouldn't hear any road noise as it's set back. I was on the 4th floor and could hear the incessant beeping motorbikes but had moved from the first floor where i heard none (but was directly above the kitchen so could hear banging and chairs scraping from around 6am). 2nd floor is probably a good choice Staff were all excellent Room cleaned daily with 2 large bottles of water provided each day Breakfast was ok - decent variety of fruit, local and western with custom eggs. Coffee was instant though. Air con has heat facility No deposit required on check-in Toiletries provided Cons Some noise depending on your room location - dont stay in 107 or room directly above the kitchen/restaurant No safe for passport, cash etc in room Breakfast area isn't particularly clean i.e. dirty table cloths/mats Poor standard of fixtures/fittings e.g. gaps in windows and doors, curtains dont quite close right, dirty shower curtain, the rooms have seen better days but for the price its still good value. No coffee or milk in room (or 3-in one) No phone charging point near the bed Bathroom mat was old and dirty, no floor towel Tips: take extra passport photo if you intend to get a sim card at the airport, unlimited data one with nepal telecom cost me $10 - signal was mostly ok. Get your currency before you arrive or take enough to convert there, the atm machines are expensive Taxi from airport to Themal should be around 350 rupees working on 50 rupees per km plys 30 rupees start charge. You will be hounded relentlessly by people from the second you leave the plane for tour services etc. It may seem impolite but dont make eye contact, say no thank you and keep walking, otherwise you will spend your entire trip speaking to them. Right now its cold at night, pack accordingly. Be prepared to pay for everything, every temple, every place of historical interest - foreigners are charged around 1000-2000 rupees each time. E.g. all the Durbar squares, main stupas and temples. Don't assume that because Nepal is a developing country it is cheap. It isn't. In fact i found it comparable to some developed countries and not cheaper than say Thailand. A meal would cost me around 1000 rupees. In a smaller more local place you may pay 500. Don't take your new trainers, it's a very dirty, dusty city but exactly what you would expect if you've ever seen it on TV - it's all part of the experience. For exploring all of the main parts of Kathmandu, id say 5 days is a good amount of time. I recommend the everest helicopter tour but on that note i will say that tours are very expensive here, more expensive than even Hong Kong, Thailand, etc!! I ended up walking to the main temples, Chandragiri, Bakhtapur for the more local experience.

The hotel is located on Thamel Street in Kathmandu, which should be the most prosperous street. There are all kinds of supporting facilities around it, not to mention the countless restaurants. We moved here from other hotels. The previous hotel had a very serious power outage and the hygiene was also worrying, but this one was not at all. There was basically no power outage for three or four days. Occasionally, the backup power supply was immediately supplied. It can be said that there was no impact at all, and the stay experience was excellent. The hotel was newly opened this year and is equipped with an elevator, which is very convenient for going up and down the stairs. There is a local Nepalese beauty at the front desk who can speak Chinese. It is said that she returned to Nepal from studying in China. Communication is completely stress-free. Everything went very smoothly with her when I checked in. In addition to her, the other handsome men and beautiful women at the front desk can speak English, so I had a very pleasant stay these few days. The boss and shareholders are also Chinese, very friendly and friendly. As long as we raise any problems, they can solve them for us immediately. The hotel is also equipped with washing machines and dryers, and even a gym, which is very very very convenient. The hotel is very very very clean. I am a person with mysophobia. I am so moved to tears to be able to live in such a clean and hygienic hotel in Kathmandu. When we finally left, one of the bosses and shareholders even arranged a car to take us to the airport. We didn't have to worry about it at all. Every staff member we met in this hotel was very nice. It is worth staying at this hotel. I recommend it. Chinese people don't cheat Chinese people.

Hotel Yak & Yeti
Hotel Yak & YetiHotel Yak & Yeti
Hotels in Kathmandu
Opened on September 27, 1977, Hotel Yak & Yeti is located in the heart of Kathmandu at Durbar Marg . The hotel began with 120 beautifully designed rooms. Today, it has grown to offer 241 rooms, blending classic charm with modern comfort. Staying at Yak & Yeti feels like walking through a living museum. The interiors are adorned with intricate artwork, antique treasures, and traditional Nepali designs that tell stories of the country's rich heritage. Outside, the lush gardens offer a peaceful escape, complete with green lawns, a serene pond, and striking sculptures that add to the hotel's charm. One of the hotel’s most iconic features is the Lal Durbar Convention Center, a restored part of the historic Lal Durbar Palace. Built in 1890 by Prime Minister Bir Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana, the palace showcases a unique mix of European, Persian, and Nepali architectural styles. Today, it serves as an elegant venue for weddings, meetings and grand events. Guests can also enjoy browsing the shopping arcade, where local crafts and souvenirs let you take home a piece of Nepal. In the waiting area, you’ll find a colorful, eye-catching gazebo created by contemporary artist Tsherin Sherpa. The artwork reimagines traditional Tibetan Buddhist motifs with modern influences, creating a space where sacred traditions meet global culture. From the vibrant Ganesha statue to traditional panas (oil lamps) and fine architectural details, every corner of Yak & Yeti radiates Nepali character. At the reception, the beautifully carved aakhi jhyal, a traditional wooden window greets you with timeless elegance. With warm hospitality, royal touches, and a deep connection to Nepal’s past and present, Hotel Yak & Yeti promises a truly memorable experience in the capital.

Location is superb, right in the middle of Kathmandu, walking distance to Thamel. Other interesting landmarks are easy to reach with the helpful taxi drivers (always present outside the gates). Hotel staff are very kind, sincerely engage in conversation and helpful in providing tourist information. Rooms are cost and warm decorated. Hotel has a beautiful garden suitable for a relaxing stroll. Swimming pool is nice and very clean! I highly recommend this hotel above other hotels in Kathmandu. The room is large and clean, the bathroom is large, and the facilities are new and newly renovated. The hotel is on a busy commercial street, but the room is quiet. When we returned to the hotel from the Monkey Temple, the front desk guy patiently told the taxi the hotel location and driving route, and waited for us at the intersection. The boss helped us to determine the fare for the two attractions with the taxi driver, and personally drove us to the airport at 5:30 in the morning, and provided take-out breakfast. The restaurant on the first floor provides Chinese food. The dishes taste very good. The boss cooks personally, and the waitress has a good attitude.

We knew the service would be good as soon as we booked, and within hours we received a welcome email, listing the ways we could contact them if we needed to. On the pick up at the airport, they were speedy and efficient and the taxi ride only took us 20 minutes with traffic. As we walked through the door we were blown away by the interior decoration, only then to find that hotel had been a former palace! Historic artifacts and pictures were strewn through the hallways and the outside only matched the royal feel with perfection. We stayed in the royal suite, with a big bed and balcony. The staff were great, the breakfast was standard for off peak times and although the location isn't in the depth of Thamel, the area most will go out for eating and drinking, it was within 30 minutes drive of most landmarks and as it was the ambassedy/ office worker area, there was a nice vibe. There were some things that can't be controlled. The hotel did a good job of providing heat as the weather in February is still chilly. The pollution was real. Especially as you walk nearer the streets, something to think about if you are sensitive to this. Apart from that, It was all really wonderful. Niraj Yadav the receptionist and the team, we thank you dearly.

I was worried because there were no reviews from Japanese people, but the Google rating was good, so I made a reservation and it was a big hit! The design seemed new, so I asked and found out that it had just opened last month, and it was incredibly clean! (That's why I understand why there were so few reviews) I think this hotel is suitable for Japanese people, so I'll write a review. Good points •It's a new building, so it's new and clean •There are many global design outlets (there is also a USB type at the bedside) •There are two 1-liter PET bottles of water •It has a jacuzzi, sauna, and mist sauna (I didn't use it, but the mist sauna smelled so good that I wanted to use it. It seems like it would be better to bring a swimsuit.) •The breakfast is delicious! They also make masala tea! •The staff is super kind (the manager also understands a little Japanese) •It's located off the main road, so it's quiet at night! •The bed mat was firm and I slept soundly! Notes •I thought I had booked a room with a bathtub, but it wasn't available for my room type! If you need one, it might be better to inquire in advance. •I stayed for multiple nights, but cleaning was not included. I had my luggage spread out so that was better for me, but I wish they had at least changed the towels. I asked at the front desk and they gave me new towels so it was no problem! There was a currency exchange on the way to the hotel and the rate wasn't bad. Anyway, it was clean and cheap, and if I stay in Kathmandu I'll come back!

An unforgettable and warm hotel in every aspect! Clean and the food is great! Because my family was temporarily ill and admitted to the local hospital, this hotel was only about ten minutes away from the hospital, so I chose this hotel. It is located in a government office area with good security. The hotel is designed in Nepali style. The rooms are very good and tidy. They know that I go to visit the patient every day, and they send a car to take me to the hospital every day. They always check on me and my family, which adds a lot of warmth to the pain of being here with the patient! The quality of the restaurant is also high, and many of the dishes are excellent. It is said that it is also a gathering place for government officials, so it is often full of guests! I stayed here for more than ten days and it was very cost-effective! --The free airport pick-up is also great

The skyline restaurant is the best at sunset in this hotel. They have a transparent glass floor to watch everything under your feet. Many locals also get dressed up and come here to enjoy the million-dollar-worthy sight. You can also enjoy the buffet breakfast at the same restaurant if staying here. I used the swimming pool and sauna on 9 floor. The staff there are very attentive and friendly. Feel like a queen being there! The room is super clean and smell nice! I am amazed by the A.C. System. Believe me that’s very rare to find in Kathmandu! All is very good from the beginning of check-in and till the end. They have free drop-off transportation to airport. So I would highly recommend to book the last nights in Nepal and enjoy a relaxing evening of here!

Amazing
GGuest UserThe hotel service was almost impeccably superb. I arrived and was departed by the same polite receptionist, Manoj. The bed was cozy, the toilet was nice (equipped with a range of toiletries) and the interior room was just wonderful. Breakfast was decent and simple. The staff were always ready to serve you. The welcoming atmosphere was somewhat delightful.🫠 The manager even helped us with our planning of Kathmandu- Pokhara and provides all the necessary details that we need to know over there. Saves us a lot of time. šŸ‘šŸ¼ The location was just right. Easily walking access to nearby food place and market for essential buyings. Just that the tv programs were all news channels, that was a slight bummer but most of the time we were out so it doesn't really matter. And our room view was limited maybe because we were on the lower floor but the home style feels overcame the restriction. There is a saying: ā€Perfect goodbyes leave nothing unsaid, thereby there's nothing left to come back for.ā€ Overall, even with just 18 rooms in this hotel, I didn't regret making it my destination to rest at Kathmandu. It was truly a lovely place and I hope it prospers widely in the future. Lastly, for all the staff in Kumari Boutique Hotel who appreciate our existence that one week stay, thank you a lot! šŸ™šŸ¼ šŸ™šŸ¼

Amazing
GGuest UserI recently stayed at Hotel Anuttara in Nepal and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. My room was clean and well-equipped, providing all the essentials for a comfortable visit. The hotel’s restaurant offered a diverse menu with tasty local dishes. Its convenient location made it easy to access shopping and dining options nearby. Although not a retreat, the lively atmosphere added to the experience, making it ideal for travelers wanting to immerse themselves in the local culture. I highly recommend Hotel Anuttara for anyone visiting the area!

Great
GGuest UserWe had the pleasure of staying at this exceptional hotel for a total of 6 nights, and we couldn't be more thrilled with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff displayed an authentic and warm hospitality that made us feel truly at home. Their genuine friendliness and willingness to assist with every request went above and beyond our expectations. One of the highlights of our stay was the remarkable cleanliness and tranquility of our room. It was evident that great care was taken to ensure a pristine environment, allowing us to relax and unwind in utmost comfort. The icing on the cake was the superb internet reception, which allowed us to stay connected seamlessly throughout our stay. Our stay was punctuated by delightful mornings indulging in an exquisite breakfast spread. The puri or chapati and curry quickly became our favorites, perfectly complemented by the aromatic masala tea and the flavorful masala omelette – a true culinary delight! The hotel's al fresco dining experience was an absolute treat. The ambiance was charming, and the food left an indelible mark on our taste buds. With each meal, we explored a plethora of different dishes, each more tantalizing than the last. It's safe to say that the culinary offerings exceeded our expectations in every way. A noteworthy mention is the hotel's convenient proximity to Boudha Stupa, a mere 10-minute walk away. This made our visits to the stupa incredibly convenient and allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in its serene atmosphere. What sets this hotel apart is not only its remarkable amenities and services but also the unique opportunity it offers. The daily free yoga and meditation sessions held within the monastery on the premises are truly transformative. We highly recommend inquiring about the schedule from the attentive hotel staff – it's an experience that added immeasurable value to our stay. In summary, our time at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of attentive staff, immaculate rooms, delectable cuisine, and the added touch of free yoga and meditation sessions make this hotel a standout choice for anyone seeking a memorable stay near Boudha Stupa. We wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to fellow travelers looking for an unforgettable experience. Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay truly remarkable – we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to return! Tip: Indulge in delightful puri & curry breakfast, relish al fresco dining, rejuvenate with free daily yoga. A tranquil oasis near Boudha Stupa.

Great
DDaisydainikanshijieExcellent service: The staff is warm and considerate, and you can feel the caring service from check-in to check-out. During the period, I asked the hotel manager for help to take a taxi many times, and I got very active help, which greatly saved the fare. • Comfortable room: The room is spacious, modern and clean, the bedding is soft and comfortable, the bathroom facilities are complete, and the water pressure is sufficient. The water quality is also very good, and there is no online rumor that the water quality is bad and cannot be used to rinse the mouth. • Rich breakfast: The breakfast is rich in variety, including Nepalese specialties, Asian and Western breakfasts, and Chinese handmade cakes. In particular, the local vermicelli cooked by a special person is particularly delicious. • Complete facilities: The hotel has a variety of leisure facilities such as an outdoor swimming pool, steam room, fitness center, spa center, etc. The rooftop swimming pool overlooks the entire city and the Himalayas in the distance, as well as the gym and spa center.

AAnonymous UserThe location is perfect, right at the heart of the city. The view is great, too. The staff are amazing: Bibek informed me about everything I asked, from means of transport to some specialties. I didn't have a kettle in the room, and he got me one. The breakfast was nice, although served only starting from 11 am (which is a bit late to my taste). The biggest issue is hot water that is warm, but i guess that's the case pretty much everywhere in Nepal. There's an AC, a bar of soap, a toothpaste and a toothbrush, a towel, two chairs, but no desk.

じじじたびIt's close to Durbar Square in the Thamel district, so it's conveniently located just a 10-minute walk (or a leisurely 15-minute walk - I'm not sure how long it took). There is also a popular restaurant in the same building. The staff are very friendly and always attentive. You can feel free to ask about bus and flight arrangements and tour applications. I wouldn't say that every corner of the building is clean, but the corridors and toilets that are used on a daily basis are cleaned several times a day. There are both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms.

DDesvsdayIf you want to experience the Nepalese style, this is a very good choice because it feels like living in an ancient monument. The equipment in the room has been tidied and the comfort is very good. The hotel is near the Great Pagoda, about a 15-minute walk away, so you can have a quick look at the city.

GGuest UserThere is a garden and the restaurant is also in the garden. The single bed is a little small but very comfortable. There is a terrace facing the garden. Fortunately, it closes at 8 or 9 in the evening, so it becomes very quiet immediately.

CChristinalvxingdarenBecause I didn't catch the plane, I found a small hotel temporarily in the early morning. facility: Although the hotel is small, the hardware facilities are relatively good in Nepal, which is good. There is air conditioning, hot water and card swipe door locks, which are advanced. But there is no hair dryer either… health: I still saw the hair... environment: Room comfortable Serve: The breakfast provided is relatively simple (Picture 6 is the breakfast menu) The service attitude of the staff at night is good, but the service attitude during the day is average. In the evening, my friend in Kathmandu sent me to the hotel to pick up my luggage and take me to the airport. The hotel staff was even more hospitable.
