Guest UserPerfect 3-Day Business Stay during NIFF 2026 – Tulsi Kathmandu Hotel 🇳🇵
Stayed 3 days at Tulsi Kathmandu Hotel during the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF 2026), and it turned out to be an excellent base for a business-focused trip.
Location
Very central in Thamel, within walking distance to key areas, restaurants, and festival venues. Ideal when the city is busy due to events like NIFF (held April 2–6, 2026 in Kathmandu). (The Film Nepal)
Rooms & Facilities
The hotel is brand new (opened 2026), with modern, clean, and well-designed rooms. Strong Wi-Fi, desk space, and quiet environment made it suitable for work between meetings. (Tripadvisor)
Service
Staff is consistently described as very friendly, attentive, and professional. Check-in and support were smooth, even during high-traffic festival days. (Tripadvisor)
Business Suitability
- Reliable internet
- Comfortable workspace in-room
- Central access to venues
- Calm atmosphere despite busy surroundings
Food & Amenities
Good mix of Nepali and international cuisine, rooftop terrace, and convenient airport transfer options. (***********)
Overall
A strong choice for short business stays during major events like NIFF. Combines boutique comfort with practical functionality.
Rating: 5/5
Best for: Business travelers, short stays, festival visits
Would recommend and would book again.

Guest UserConvenient Stay Near Kathmandu Airport
The hotel is very well-located—close to the airport and right in the center of Kathmandu. Airport pickup and drop services were provided, which made our travel hassle-free.
Food:
The breakfast buffet was good, and the highlight was definitely the poori bhaji. However, the Nepal Thali was disappointing and needs improvement.
Rooms & Property:
Rooms were a bit small but had all essential toiletries. The building is a 7-story structure, so don’t expect spacious gardens or play areas for kids.
Facilities:
Swimming Pool: Available, but since it’s not temperature-controlled, it’s not practical in colder weather.
Parking: Bikes should ideally be parked in B2, but there’s no lift access to B2, so you have to walk to the ground floor to use the lift.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Make the swimming pool temperature-controlled for year-round usability.
Provide better access to B2 parking or reconsider the arrangement.
Improve the quality of the Nepal Thali.

Guest UserLakhey Hotel is the best hotel in Kathmandu! The staff are super friendly, check-in is very easy, and they always help me get a taxi. They offered a welcome drink, which was lovely. The boss speaks excellent Chinese and even arranged a trek for me—very satisfying! Hot water is great, breakfast is delicious, and their Sichuan restaurant has amazing food (must try!). After my EBC trek, I stayed here again because I missed Chinese food. Location is nice, rooms are big—I stayed in room 1108 with a beautiful Kathmandu city view. Highly recommend to everyone. Very satisfied with Lakhey Hotel service. Best of luck to the team—hope to see you again!”**

Guest UserThis is a newly built hotel, and it's rare to find such clean bathrooms in Nepal. It's located in a quiet spot at the entrance of Thamel, right next to the Garden of Dreams. While it's a bit far from central areas like Durbar Square, it's a great place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet at the hotel.
Since it seems brand new, the room was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was also spotless, so I felt very comfortable using it. The breakfast area on the 8th floor offered a lovely view.
The front desk staff were polite, but during breakfast, I noticed other guests were asked for their egg orders, whereas I wasn't (perhaps because I had already taken scrambled eggs). Also, coffee (other than instant) at breakfast was an extra charge.

Guest UserThe environment and hygiene conditions are good, quite decent for Kathmandu. If you have a late flight, you can pay extra to request a late check-out until 6 PM.
I'm giving the service a 2-star rating because of two front desk staff members.
Staff member A miscalculated the amount when I was paying the remaining balance plus breakfast (everyone, please pay attention to the numbers they write down, they might not always be correct). After I pointed it out, it took him a while to realize his mistake, and I almost overpaid by more than $10.
Staff member B kept asking me if I had paid on my last night, even after I told him that I had paid the full amount on my first day. I had to answer at least three times before I got visibly annoyed, and he probably finally checked the system and confirmed my payment before he stopped asking.
I was originally going to give a 1-star rating, but on the last day, after checking out, I was waiting for my ride in the lobby for a long time. The lobby manager kindly came out to ask about my situation and mentioned that next time I could request a late check-out, which brought my rating back up to 2 stars.
I hope they can update their front desk system, at least so they don't miscalculate numbers when settling bills, and so they can easily check payment status instead of repeatedly asking guests who have already paid.

A great hotel in the heart of the Thamel district. Both the rooms and common areas are decorated in a national style, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The panoramic restaurant on the 7th floor is fantastic – delicious food with a diverse breakfast buffet and an extensive menu for other meals, including both local and European dishes. The hotel also has a very good spa, though it doesn't operate late into the evening. The staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable.
Highly recommend.

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the service, as well as the food is excellent. The rooms however, are very old and small (we were able to change rooms after bringing this up with reception). The location is in Thamel and getting to nearby attractions is convenient
