Hotel Balocco

We stayed here at the end of Sept, into October for 1 week and loved the hotel. It has great views down to the harbour and has a relaxing feel, whilst you see other guests at breakfast its generally really quite around the pool and the hotel offers amble parking if you have a car. There are numerous restaurants and a supermarket in walking distance and reception are happy to make recommendations/ reservations. The breakfast had a good variety from cold meats and cheeses to scrambled egg and bacon or pastries and cakes. They do offer lunch but this was more "formal eating" and snacks such as toasted sandwiches werent available until after 3pm, it would have been ideal to have more snack options throughout the day. The drinks were fairly expensive (approx 8euro for a small beer and 10 for prosecco) but then again hotels usually are and there are alternatives near by. Other things to note : the hotel offers a shuttle to the beach, pool towels, a hairdryer and the mini bar can be used as your fridge.

The staff at Hotel Balocco were professional, welcoming, courteous and beyond accommodating. There was not one staff member who did not possess all these qualities!! We absolutely adored every single one of you and you were the highlight of our stay there. We had the suite with the huge terrace with amazing views!!! Highly recommend it!! The hotel has many excellent restaurants nearby and is a quick ride to the port. If I could make one recommendation, it would be to have a hot tub/jacuzzi as the cooler temps in the shoulder season prevent using the cold water pool. Breakfast was great and every lunch at the pool was as well. Many delicious cocktail options outside and even more at the inside bar. Loved our stay and can not wait to return.

Initially we stayed at Balocco for three nights, and then moved to another hotel in Baia Sardinia where we were supposed to stay for the rest of the week. It was way more expensive, but unfortunately it was also really below par, and we quickly realized we did not want to spend the rest of our vacation there. We contacted Balocco again and luckily they had a room available, so after two days we went back although we had paid for two more nights at the other hotel. Balocco is beautifully situated on the hillside overlooking Porto Cervo, with a great pool and poolbar/restaurant which also serves an excellent breakfast (and, as expected, the best coffee…). The hotel has such a nice vibe to it, the atmosphere is so relaxed and Balocco never feels crowded even though it was almost fully booked; but they only have 40 rooms which gives it a more intimate and personal feel. The rooms btw, are really clean and well equipped, with a balcony or patio facing the pool area. We instantly felt at home, mainly because the staff is simply amazing, from housekeeping to the reception, bar and restaurant. We didn´t catch all the names but want to mention Evelyn, Belen, Betty and Luciano at the restaurant and Bruno at the lounge bar. And of course Tina, Augustino and the rest of the crew at the front desk who will help you with everything from airport transfer to table reservations at nearby restaurants – and there are a number of reasonably priced high quality restaurants within walking distance. We certainly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return. Niclas & Anneli

There are so many excellent reasons why we return to Hotel Balocco every year. Apart from its absolutely stunning, world-class location and style, the staff are the very best. They are so welcoming and go over & above to make us comfortable and well cared for. Damiro & Roberto lead their superb team with grace, intelligence & humour. I wish every hotel could learn from them!! From the wonderful, Tina & Augustino at the front desk to Rita, Sara & Giovanni and so many others. We are very grateful to return most years to the same faces, how rare that is! As a sailing team, we get to stay in a lot of wonderful hotels around the world, but the Hotel Balocco, this is such a rare gem. Many thanks & best wishes to you all,

This hotel is listed as 4 stars but having stayed at 5 star hotels it is far superior!! The location ,setting ,pool area ,large immaculate rooms and hotel are gorgeous. The breakfast buffet and restaurant meals are delicious. The concierges Damir Roberto Tina Sall and Agostino treat clients as family with such great care and concern . Staff as well as the guests I met are so friendly making my stay here the most fantastic in spectacular Sardinia!! Hotel Balocco is just fabulous !!!!

We absolutely loved staying here!! When we arrived Roberto kindly informed us our room was upgraded and we felt like we had the best room in the hotel. The view was amazing from every window in our room. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was great and breakfasts were delicious. Oh and the pool is perfect. I was sad to leave his hotel. It made our holiday!! Thanks for having us!! Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend to everyone!
