Took my mom out for a trip and saw Aling's live stream on Douyin. She came across as very practical, genuine, and unpretentious, so we decided to stay for a few days. Overall, it was a really good experience. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there's a water feature with koi fish, which gives a vibrant and lively feel. The two young men working there were incredibly attentive and patient in answering our questions, and their demeanor was very refined. We also had the good fortune to meet a compatible travel couple, Sister Liu and her husband, at Aling's place. It felt like such a serendipitous encounter for people from the north and south to meet here. In the evening, we gathered in Aling's courtyard to chat, drink tea, and share our travel experiences. He was incredibly caring and attentive throughout our stay, taking the time to help arrange our itinerary and providing valuable local insights. Mr. Sing's assistance was invaluable - he personally helped us with our luggage from the main entrance all the way up to the hotel, which we greatly appreciated. His local knowledge really enhanced our trip, as he introduced us to excellent dining options and guided us to the best shopping areas in the vicinity. The genuine care and attention to detail shown by our host Mr. Sing made our stay not just comfortable, but truly memorable. By chance, I booked this guesthouse/hotel located at the top of Lion Rock, and the overall environment and hygiene were excellent. Not only can you get a panoramic view of the ancient city, but you can also see the snow-capped mountains right from your room. The third-floor terrace is very comfortable; in the afternoon, they offer complimentary drinks, and you can enjoy the scenery while basking in the sun, which is incredibly relaxing. The owner, a young man, is also wonderful – cheerful and kind-hearted. Since I was traveling with my 80-year-old mother to Lijiang this time, the owner was incredibly thoughtful, paying attention to every detail to ensure her comfort. Bringing my mother here has been a long-cherished wish of mine, and she was very satisfied with her two-day stay at this guesthouse. Many thanks to the owner for making these the best memories for my mother in Lijiang. Good conscience is the best brand, and kindness is priceless. We love it here, it was our highlight in Lijiang Ancient Town, the hosts were all friendly, the rooms were as advertised, free airport pickup, complimentary tea and fruits, cleanliness was spotless, spacious and advanced. Had a small cute rooftop for the view. The hosts however were our highlight, we felt genuinely cared for, they ensured our safety and comfort. Every time we are clueless they never fail to give their best to help us, ensure we have a good time, provided all relevant information, gave tips so we don’t get scammed by extreme high prices. At the end of the journey we felt like we made friends along the way, would definitely recommend and come again. Big thanks to Ah Azhong for being our host, we were grateful for your service. The place is located near the north gate but there is a closer exit/shortcut about 10 - 15 mins that is more accessible towards the didi areas in comparison to the main location entrances in the map.

Banyan Tree Lijiang is absolutely beautiful! Even though it rained both days of our stay, the traditional Chinese courtyard felt perfectly in tune with the weather, offering a unique charm. Before booking, I was a little worried after seeing the hotel's pictures – I'm not sure how they took those promotional shots, because in person, the scenery far exceeded my expectations. All my photos were taken with a phone, so they're quite authentic. The service was also excellent; when my child wanted to sleep alone, they even set up an extra bed for them. The hotel offers plenty of activities to keep kids entertained, and there are small animals and many fruit trees on the property. The osmanthus flowers were already blooming during our visit, filling the air with their fragrant scent. On our last day, they even arranged a travel photoshoot for us. All in all, it was definitely worth it!

The environment here is beautiful, with lush greenery in the courtyard and fresh air that instantly helps you relax. The bedding in the rooms is exceptionally comfortable – a good night's sleep here will leave you feeling completely refreshed! The service is incredibly thoughtful and attentive; no matter what you need, they'll help you out, making you feel as warm and welcome as if you were at home. Step outside the inn and you can immediately experience the ancient town's unique charm and leisurely pace of life, making it perfect for a relaxing vacation and capturing some great photos! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and immersive experience of Lijiang's culture!

This guesthouse has an amazing location, just a few minutes' walk from the Grand Water Wheel. The rooftop viewing platform offers stunning panoramic views of the entire ancient city. The owner was incredibly welcoming and even upgraded me to a room with a view for free! The breakfast, with rice noodles, eggs, and congee, was simple, clean, and delicious. Any questions I had throughout my stay were patiently answered by the front desk staff. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Lijiang.

This stay was surprisingly good! I initially thought the hotel might be old, but to my surprise, because it's entirely made of wood, it's very well-maintained and has a charming Chinese aesthetic. A lot of investment clearly went into it, with all solid wood decor. The rooms are spacious and come with a terrace. There's plenty to do at the hotel; the kids absolutely loved the cute pet park and feeding the fish, and the swimming pool was their daily favorite. Even though the hotel is large, there's a shuttle service, and calling for one at the front desk is very convenient. Don't miss the complimentary Platinum Travel Photography session included with the package; we did ours in casual clothes and were pleasantly surprised by the photos – no need for any editing at all. I appreciated the convenient location and service, but the misleading tour arrangements, unexpected extra charges, and poor coordination made my overall stay frustrating and disappointing. Location: The hotel is in the southern part of the Old Town, which has fewer crowds than other areas. It’s quieter, still beautiful, and easily accessible. Service: The hotel offers one complimentary train/airport pickup if arranged in advance (for 3 night stay). The staff helped carry my luggage from the South Gate (cars can’t enter the Old Town) and provided welcome fruit upon request. Breakfast was as described, though the noodles were undercooked. The staff were responsive and helped me book tickets, including a trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain—but this is where things went wrong. Initially, the hotel staff quoted me a reasonable price that matched my research and said the schedule was flexible, I could spend as much time as I like. When I went to book, they suddenly told me I needed to pay about 200 RMB more because I was a foreigner—something I knew wasn’t true from my experience in other cities. They also said lunch was mandatory. I was short on time and wanted convenience, so I accepted the extra charges. Although I was told that jackets, oxygen bottles, and water would be provided, the driver took me and other Chinese tourists to a store to buy additional oxygen and energy drinks at four times the normal price. There I was told the “free” oxygen bottle was too small—information the hotel hadn’t mentioned. I bought one just in case but never needed it. I booked a sunrise tour with a 5 a.m. pickup, but we didn’t actually see sunrise at the mountain—partly due to weather, partly because the schedule wasn’t designed for it. The driver took me to Blue Moon Lake first, then the cable car, and the Impression of Lijiang show last. He kept saying I was short on time, so I needed to buy an additional ticket for battery car to get around and rushed through Blue Moon Lake without knowing how long the walk should take, only to end up waiting an hour at the cable car. After the show, we were taken to lunch, which had no menu—just a very basic hot pot shared with random strangers seated at the same table. The driver texted me to hurry up because other passengers were waiting and even told me that they didn’t pay for lunch because they knew it wasn’t good. That upset me even more. Overall, I felt rushed, overcharged, and misled, and the whole experience made the trip far less enjoyable. Amenities: The amenities were as described, but there was no daily housekeeping or towel replacement.

The owner warmly welcomed us, helped with our luggage, and thoughtfully introduced us to fun places nearby, instantly making us feel at home. Check-in was super fast, with absolutely no annoying waiting. The room was incredibly spacious, decorated warmly and comfortably, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly. I slept soundly and woke up feeling refreshed. The room was spotless, and the bathroom had no strange odors, showing that the cleaning was meticulously done. You can even enjoy tea, chat, play cards, and drink with the owner. It's perfect for a trip with friends.
