Nice hostel in convenient area of the city! Rooms and toilets are clean however number of toilets is not enough for the number of guests Otherwise all good - great for a short stay

Location is excellent with lot of cafes and restaurants. I took the Intercity coach which dropped off at the tourist information site. From there it is a less than 5 minutes straight walk and then turning right to reach the hostel. Very friendly and helpful receptionist however do note it is closed at 6pm. Toilet and shower areas are very clean despite huge group during my stay. Shower gel and towel are provided which is great for me. I stayed in private single room which is good enough for me. Have kitchen with fridges, microwaves, stoves , utensils, pans , cleaning soap…… paid washing machines. U can parked your luggage after checkout for free. Walking distance to Rotorua Central Mall which has a food court and McDonald n KFC for slightly cheaper meal options. Entrance to hostel are always locked with passcode thus felt safe . I will definitely stay there if I am in Rotorua.

Location is at the centre of Rotorua. Many travellers from the world stayed here. Communal kitchen was well equipped. Recommended

good location-- near a lot of shops. Free parking in front of the building but only until 9am. If you want to park in the building, parking fee is $5. Good stay overall.

We stayed 3 nights in a private room at Rock Solid. The first room we got assigned was just below the lounge area and given the walls are so thin it really seemed like a group of people was in our room. The manager was very nice and moved us into a different room- walls still thin but at least in a different location vs the first room. The common areas are big and clean + you get 50% discount on the climbing wall gym which we used!

Comfy and clean, not busy this time of year

The rooms itself were not the cleanest with stains on the carpets and bedsheets. However its very near rotorua central and super convenient to walk around. Note that the walls were really really thin and during my stay, other guests were super noisy and it really ******. That could have been better. Otherwise, it’s pretty okay.

Everything was good, more empty than expected and that is amazing for be quiet but if you want to know people it’s not the best hostel

Strategically located at the city center, this place offers great convenience to a lot of restaurants nearby. The infamous Polynesian spa is within walking distance (about 5 minutes walk) and other attractions such as government gardens, sulphur point, lake Rotorua etc. are within walking distance. We got a double room for more privacy, basic amenities are available but I do not think there is a hairdryer (I brought mine anyway) so prepare one if you were to stay here.

Clean and tidy, the staffs were friendly and helpful, close to intercity bus stop, many restaurants and cafes around there, and nice view from their balcony!
