The waitress in the hotel lobby was very friendly and polite. Since the hotel is a historical building and there is no elevator, she was small but very attentive in helping us carry our luggage up the stairs to the room. The room is spacious and the decoration is very warm and has a British town atmosphere. The hotel's breakfast was very good, and the children enjoyed it very much. It is a small British town hotel with high cost performance and service.

Excellent Hotel, immaculately clean, beds very comfortable, the manager and all his staff were welcoming, friendly, and did everything to ensure we had a brilliant stay. Would recommend Sandbach as a great place to visit, plenty of historic attractions and easy access to Chester and nearby towns.

Haven't even had the breakfast yet, but the room (16) is perfect for us. Ground floor, 6 foot wide superfine bed walk on shower, all beautifully decorated. Dinner was off a set menu being Sunday , but there was still plenty of choice and the food was cooked to perfection. I dont usually like roasts but I cleared the plate. The waitresses were lovely, friendly and helpful. We will be back!!!

The good - friendly enthusiastic staff, nice decor, good size rooms, good amenities,. The bad - Our room was unexpectedly in an outbuilding directly off the carpark and right next to a busy main road with cars and lorries rumbling past through the night which kept us awake - you could feel the vibration in the room - this was particularly annoying as I had specifically requested a quiet room. We ordered lunch in the restaurant and all the dishes came out a separate times with things missing we had to ask for, meaning we couldn't relax and eat together. Breakfast was poor - I'm vegan and they didn't even have any alternative for butter for my toast - I can't believe they didn't have flora or sunflower spread in a supposed 5 star establishment - what about anyone who has a dairy allergy? The quality of the rest of the breakfast was not good - either with some items undercooked, some overcooked - again items missing from the breakfast which we had to ask for and wait for. Really disappointed as it could have been so lovely.

Just had a two night stay at The Wheatsheaf. What a lovely hotel that has clearly had a lot of money spent on refurbishment. Everything was great for our stay. First night evening meal was excellent. Reasonably priced. The room, in the annex was stunning and large with king size bed and sofa. Staff throughout were so friendly, overall making a lovely feel about the place. Will definitely be back.

We stayed last year and had a lovely stay… Fantastic breakfast, I couldn’t fault it… Will definitely return, but I really don’t understand the “no toilet brush because it’s hygienic“ comments by management after just having seen the Four in a Bed documentary and we had the same problem and commented to each other at the time! Advice to management: just buy new ones each time. You can get them for £1.42 from Viking direct. Problem solved. You cannot expect people not to want to clean their own toilet if they have tummy trouble! It’s pretty disgusting to expect people to live like that. You can’t complain Something is “unhygienic” then ask people to leave the loos in a state. Without going into detail, this was the first time we stayed together in a hotel, and it was not pleasant for either of us!

I booked as I wanted a reasonable priced 5 star hotel to celebrate my birthday. We had a great stay. Booked direct with The Wheatsheaf as opposed to ***********, better rates. Specifically wanted a room with a bath, the room did not disappoint. The bathroom is lush! We arrived later than planned (around 7:30pm) and thankfully had the last parking space. The car park isn’t that big. Check in was fine, even with a little wait. Check in is in the same space as the bar/restaurant and it was very busy in the restaurant. We didn’t eat in the restaurant. Left it too late and food finishes at 9:30pm. Lovely renovated room. Lovely smell as you walk into the room. A portable fan was on as we entered, making the room really cool. Quality furnishing with great room amenities. The bathroom is bigger than the bedroom The bathroom door could do with a clean (on the bathroom side) The bath was clean but there were random hairs in there. Scruffs on the bathroom wall which ideally should be painted. No hooks to hang towels or dressing gown whilst in the bathroom. Some of the bulbs in the chandeliers had blown and needed changing. Lastly, the room got extremely hot, even with the fan on. Literally had to have a cold shower to cool down. I think an air-con system will eventually be needed. Great cooked fresh to order breakfast, fresh pastries arrived a bit late but they were overdone. £15 person is a tad bit expensive but it is what it is. Overall great stay and will definitely be back.

This was our second stay in this wonderful hotel in the beautiful town of Sandbach. We arrived late and were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, the fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge was an excellent addition. The food in this hotel is fantastic, the breakfast was cooked to order with plenty of choice but the highlight of our stay was the superb Sunday roast, highly recommended. Compliments to all the staff for a great stay but a special thanks to Danny and the team in the kitchen.
