"I expected much better from a hotel carrying the Ramada name. We arrived just after midnight, exactly as we had advised the hotel in advance. To our surprise, the entrance gates were locked. There was a phone number on the gate to call for assistance, but despite repeated calls, nobody answered. We could see reception from outside, and could clearly hear the phone ringing, but there was no one there to help. After standing on the roadside for around 15 minutes with two tired children in the middle of the night, I ended up climbing over the locked fence just to unlock the gate from the inside so my family could enter. Once inside, we rang the reception bell several times before anyone appeared. Around 20 minutes later, the receptionist (a gentleman with long hair) eventually arrived. Rather than apologising for leaving a family locked outside at midnight, he simply said he had been ”dealing with something”, that there were ”100 guests and just him”, and told us, ”you need patience.” Those are his exact words. I appreciate that staff can be busy, but this was a complete failure of customer service. An apology would have gone a long way. Instead, we were met with rudeness and a dismissive attitude. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I have encountered. The hotel itself was also disappointing. The photos on the website appear to be either very old or heavily enhanced. The grounds look nothing like the promotional images—there are no palm trees as shown, and the swimming pool sits right beside the car park, giving it a very different feel from what is advertised. The one major positive is the location. It's within easy walking distance of the city centre, which was extremely convenient. Unfortunately, because of the poor customer service on arrival and the misleading impression created by the website photos, I would not choose to stay here again"

"The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from the pier. They don't provide bottled water, and there's no facility to get drinkable water, so you'll need to buy your own from the supermarket. Drying clothes on the balcony is prohibited, so bring extra swimsuits or a portable drying device. The shower easily wets the bathroom floor."

"The breakfast always had hot dishes and was absolutely delicious. You could choose whether or not to have daily room service, and if you declined, you'd receive $10 credit to use at the hotel each day. This time, I opted for daily room service, but it was disappointing that on some days, towels weren't replaced or used glasses weren't swapped out."

"The location is excellent, about a 5-minute walk to the ferry terminal. There are also many supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and both the Kuranda Railway station and the weekend market are within walking distance. There were two Japanese women at the front desk when I was there. They were very kind and helpful, which made me feel at ease (though they might not always be there). The lounge space on the second floor was also great for taking a short break or organizing my luggage before leaving. I had a room with a balcony and could see a beautiful sunset. The facilities felt a bit old, but overall, I think it was a good stay. For Australia, it offered great value for money and contributed to a wonderful trip."

"The Executive Seaview Room was excellent value for money. The room had ceilings over 3 meters high, which made it feel incredibly spacious. The breakfast and dinner, along with all-day tea, snacks, and evening drinks, were all of a very high standard. We stayed for 3 nights, and there were no repeated dishes. The Executive Lounge is on an exclusive floor, so there were no other guests to disturb us, making it quiet and the restaurant uncrowded. The hotel also thoughtfully provided complimentary champagne and chocolates packaged from Cairns. Furthermore, the hotel's location is superb, within walking distance to the pier, city center, and night market, which is extremely convenient."

"This is my second stay here. You can drop off your luggage for free if you arrive early. If you haven't planned your itinerary yet, there's a dedicated staff member in the lobby who can help you with your plans and even get you some good deals. The whole place is clean and bright, and the bathroom provides shower gel. The location is convenient, just a five-minute walk to the night market."

"The hotel's location is excellent, with a wide variety of dining options right downstairs. Our family of three booked a suite, and they added a single bed in the living room, which was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast selection was also very rich and diverse, offering great value for money! A quick tip: there aren't as many hotels in Cairns as one might expect, and even during the off-season, this hotel's rooms can be scarce. It's best to book your entire stay at once, as trying to extend your reservation day-by-day might mean you won't find availability."

"The room was very clean. I spent a long time looking for a hotel, and most of them seemed old and outdated. This one was newer, so I quickly chose it. I got a courtyard room with a small balcony, which was perfect for sitting and enjoying a beer – very relaxing. The front desk staff provided service in Chinese, which was a really thoughtful touch. They clearly marked the locations of the shopping mall, pharmacy, and night market, which was super helpful. The only way to get to the hotel is by taxi from the airport, but overall, I was very satisfied with the stay."

"Although the hotel has been open for a while, the rooms are well-maintained and don't look old or dated. It's only about a 5-minute walk to the Reef Fleet Terminal, which is really convenient for taking a cruise to the Great Barrier Reef – you can even sleep in a bit longer in the morning! Since breakfast wasn't included with the room, we added it for two days when we checked in. It was around $40-something per person. I have to say, the breakfast was pretty mediocre, both in terms of variety and taste. Even the tables and chairs weren't as well-kept as the rooms; the chair I sat on was wobbly. Overall, the hotel is pretty good. The location is convenient, and the rooms are comfortable. There's a decent Italian restaurant on the way to the terminal too."
