Beach Hotels in Cairns

This hotel was the best I stayed at during my trip to Australia. Although the overall exterior of the hotel looks a bit old, it's still fantastic. The location is the best, right by the bay in Cairns. When you open the window, the fresh sea breeze washes over you, and you can see the coconut trees swaying outside from your bed. I never wanted to come inside when sitting on the balcony every day. The room facilities are also quite complete, although the bed is a bit soft. It would be perfect if it were a little firmer. The hotel's breakfast restaurant is on the first floor, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window while having breakfast. There's a wide variety of breakfast options, and the egg burrito is delicious. If I come to Cairns again, I will definitely choose Hilton Cairns again.

The room was nice, exquisitely decorated, and well-equipped. The breakfast was plentiful, and the service was thoughtful and attentive. The location was convenient, close to the pier, night market, and supermarket. I was particularly impressed by the hotel staff; they were polite and professional during check-in, very helpful, and their meticulous service left a lasting impression. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I have the chance.

The environment is clean, and the breakfast buffet is delicious and varied. The location is just right, a 5-10 minute walk to the dining and entertainment streets in Cairns city center. Dinner at the coffee bar was also quite good.

I accidentally booked this hotel and found out it was non-cancellable when I tried to cancel, so I had no choice but to stay. Overall, it was okay; the room was a bit small but quite tidy and clean. The front desk staff were very friendly. The restaurant was under renovation during our stay, so we were given vouchers to have breakfast at the hotel across the street. Clearly, for an extra AUD$80 a day, we could have stayed somewhere much better. The hotel hallways had no air conditioning and were very stuffy and hot. However, there was a free coffee machine downstairs with complimentary coffee. The swimming pool looked dirty though, and no one was using it. The location is a bit far from the Reef Terminal, about a 17-minute walk.

The location is excellent, about a 5-minute walk to the ferry terminal. There are also many supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and both the Kuranda Railway station and the weekend market are within walking distance. There were two Japanese women at the front desk when I was there. They were very kind and helpful, which made me feel at ease (though they might not always be there). The lounge space on the second floor was also great for taking a short break or organizing my luggage before leaving. I had a room with a balcony and could see a beautiful sunset. The facilities felt a bit old, but overall, I think it was a good stay. For Australia, it offered great value for money and contributed to a wonderful trip.

Stayed at Mantra Trilogy and honestly had such a good experience. The location is perfect — right in the middle of everything and only a short walk to the lagoon, night markets, restaurants, and clubs. The rooms were clean, modern, and spacious, with amazing views and a really relaxing vibe. The pool area was definitely one of the highlights, especially for chill afternoons before going out at night. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, and the overall atmosphere felt safe, comfortable, and perfect for a girls trip or little getaway. Would definitely stay here again when I’m back in Cairns!

The hotel isn't in the city center; it's located along the main road. Check-in was remote – they sent us a code for the main door and a safe containing our key. The rooms are a bit dated, and the cleanliness isn't top-notch, but overall it's okay. In the bathroom, the shower door was wobbly. Regarding breakfast, the hotel description states that vouchers are only for weekends, but in reality, they're available every day. Perhaps this is just for the winter period, I'm not sure. They provide AUD 20 per person for breakfast at a neighboring building. And let me tell you, that breakfast is divine! It's an à la carte menu, and we tried many things over three days, and everything was delicious. Of course, we paid extra, but it wasn't a huge amount. One day it was AUD 11, another day AUD 15, and for the one in the photo, AUD 24. Water is complimentary, coffee is AUD 6 – so you can definitely stay within budget if you skip the coffee. Also, behind the café building, there's a laundry service where you can wash and dry your clothes. It's AUD 6 per wash or dry. Nearby, there's a 'Night Owl' convenience store that was open when we arrived late, and a pizzeria next to it was also open, so you won't go hungry. The room really could have used a microwave. There was crockery, but we had to wash it in the bathroom sink, and no dish sponges were provided.

The unit is adequate for my family of six for a 3-night stay. Basic necessities are generally met, and the overall stay was acceptable. However, there were several maintenance and usability issues that affected comfort. Some air-conditioning remotes were faulty or missing batteries, requiring us to swap between rooms to find working ones. The telephone/RJ45 connection head was also broken and left dangling, with wiring not properly connected, which gave a poor impression of upkeep. In terms of sleeping comfort, the beds are quite soft and the pillows offer very little support. The positioning of the electrical wall outlets behind the bed also made it inconvenient, as we had to shift the bed forward to access the sockets. For kitchen use, it would be helpful to provide basic dishwashing supplies such as a small bottle of dishwashing liquid and a sponge, especially when only a few items are used in the dishwasher. On a positive note, the bathroom facilities are in good condition. Water pressure is strong and hot water is consistently available, which made showers comfortable. Overall, the stay was acceptable, but there is clear room for improvement in maintenance and basic guest amenities.

The room facilities are relatively old and the lights are dim. Slippers and toothbrushes are not provided. Shower gel and shampoo are of poor quality. The room was on the first floor and there was noise. It should be the sound of the air conditioner engine or other machinery. The breakfast is simple and does not provide the delicacies of various countries. It only has bread, fruits and some drinks. A separate deposit of 50 AUD is required upon check-in, or 100 AUD in cash.
