Rayfont Shanghai Xuhui Hotel Reviews

It is a local housing building. Condition is bad. It is very different from the photos given on the advertisement. The air conditioning is not working. Not recommended.

The Rayfont was always a bearable 2 star hotel. Now it's more like a slum. It seems renovations have been going on for many years. Guests are 'greeted' by a filthy elevator, a smelly, dilapidated room, a noisy unusable air conditioner, a hard bed and woken up by jackhammering. You couldn't pay me to stay here. The only salvageable parts are the location and ability to take a shower.

Really good value for money, you get what you paid for.

Room nice, big balcony. Service good! The breakfast a little poor in my opinion, don’t ask too much.. but only bananas as fruits(?) Anyway, considering the price… I’ll be back 😁 I can buy some fruits myself 😅

I have stayed here before, the building is now an apartment block. I could not find the hotel , staff said next door but that was a bank. Contacted trip who said they work contact hotel and refund booking. 5 days later still not hear anything. I spent 30 mins going around looking for hotel entrance no success the hotel was not on same location as previous and not at address on Trip

The facility is completely different from it used to be (before pandemic) with various ways. Its lobby has been moved into a different building with very small space. Also, it is not facing/near street and hard to find it. Even Taxi could NOT drive through into. We had to carry our luggage to walk through the gate and to find the building. We booked an 18 M^2 room for 4 days (because there was no larger room during this period), then a 25 M^2 room for 7 days. However, during we checking-in, we were told they (rooms) were the same, which mean we had to stay in the small room for the additional 7 day, where we even could not open our luggage. Then, we had to cancel booking for the rest 7 days. Within the hotel building, everywhere (lobby, hallways, outside of room) had goods/boxes piled up. It made us feel we were living in a storehouse. Overall, it should not be defined as a "hotel".

Location is decent enough. Thus hotel has gone down in quality since I arrived in china. It took a long time for hot water to come through and the room looks very tired. Walls are dirty and pealing.

Old and smelly room. I arrived at 1 am and there was nobody at the reception, I had to wait 1 hour before check-in. Expensive parking fee. Bad experience.

The hotel's location near the metro was excellent, providing convenient access to transportation. However, the room itself was disappointing. It had an old and unclean appearance, and there was a noticeable lack of fresh air circulation, resulting in a stale atmosphere. Additionally, the lighting in the room was too dim, making it difficult to see properly. The biggest inconvenience came when I forgot my phone charger upon check-out. Surprisingly, nobody from the hotel contacted me about it until I returned later in the evening to inquire.

Good room, comfortable bed nice bathroom etc. The location was a little tricky to find, you need to go into a residential area first then you’ll be able to see it easily. However I had to ask some local shop owners to guide me. Would be best if the hotel had a photo guide of the location. Would stay again though, the staff were friendly and the price was fair.

No wi-fi in rooms, no instant coffee and no tissues. Poor environment and nothing, but a bed in tiny rooms.

The hotel has changed over the years with the reception now past security. The main issue that they have no renovated in over 10 years so it is getting very tired.
