Shangri-La Yunbian View Homestay (located in Dukezong Ancient Town) is up one of the street, offering close proximity to 四方街, where there are nightly traditional dance going on while not getting any of the noise. The room is clean, spacious and cozy with thoughtful amenities - equipped with heated floors, humidifier and oxygen generator with single-used tube to treat altitude sickness. A highlight (and life-saver) was the pick-up and drop off service from /to any point in the Dukezong Ancient Town with the 3 wheelers mini 'truck' —saving us from the struggle of dragging suitcases uphill over cobblestone streets (ki-clogging our way through). We got to ride on the back on of the truck with out luggage during pick up. The owners were helpful and responsive, making our stay smooth and enjoyable. Call the property to inform of your arrival and ask for most convenient pick up location. We extended our stay and had the opportunity to stay in 2 different room types. both rooms offered the panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains. The family room featured two separate bedrooms - one with a king bed and the other with 2 super-twin beds, each room has own vanity top, ensuite shower and a separate toilet. The twin room had two super single beds, a bathtub, a separate shower room and toilet, and a spacious vanity area. The homestay itself is bright and welcoming, with a lovely central sitting area, making it a great place to relax after exploring Shangri-La. Highly recommended for comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality!

Always Ready to Help (Even with Translation!): Even with language differences, the staff was super responsive on WeChat and helped with all our questions using translation. The hotel is located at the eastern gate of the ancient city of Duquezon in Shangri-La. The Tesco Hotel is located in a convenient location, it is only 3 minutes away from the center of the ancient city. The main part of the B & B is a steel-mixed-earth structure to avoid the sound insulation of the traditional wood structure. Design philosophy is open, innovative, humane and functional, with emphasis on the functioning and spatial organization of the various areas and on the formal beauty of the structure itself. The design is simple and generous, and the space is clean and transparent. The room heating facilities are all water-heating. It is most suitable during the dry season of Shangri-La. There are rest, tea and recreational facilities in the public areas.

We were initially worried about travelling to shangrila because of the altitude, but we got lucky with the hotel choice! The couple running the place is absolutely amazing!! The owner picked us up from the train station making us feel so welcomed and help us avoid all the hassle of the unlicensed taxis! Once we reach the hotel, they were also very considerate preparing Chinese desserts for us in case to ease up the discomfort due to the altitude (all FOC)! The room were also very modern with smart home system and heater available in the room! Oxygen supplies also available which makes it so convenient ( we really use it in the middle of the night as we lack of the oxygen)! The owner also prepare us with heat pad and lots of snacks as well! Highly recommended this place!

The location of the hotel is very convenient, whether it is close to the prayer wheel or the east gate. You can also take a taxi to Songzanlin Temple and pick it up at the hotel entrance. The oxygen concentrator is very useful. After a while, the blood oxygen level goes from 85% to 92%. The effect is remarkable.
