Kurofune Hotel

I think it was pretty good. I booked a private hot spring room, and being able to soak in the hot spring while watching the sea and feeling the breeze was very relaxing. I personally thought the breakfast was also decent.

The room was very spacious, and both breakfast and dinner were extensive. It offered great value for money, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations.

The private open-air hot spring was really good, and the breakfast definitely deserves a thumbs up. The snacks and drinks during dessert and afternoon tea were delicious. There were quite a few insects, and we had to ask staff for bug spray to deal with them. However, the overall arrangement was great, and we'd definitely come back if we get the chance! 😆

This hotel offers great value for money, with a good location and nice views. The ocean-view hot springs are a definite plus, and it's within walking distance to Shimoda Station, with convenient parking. However, there are a few drawbacks: 1. The facilities are a bit dated, though well-maintained. It's suitable for those who appreciate a more traditional style. 2. The latest breakfast time is 8:30 AM, which is too early for late risers. 3. The biggest issue was cleanliness: there was a lingering smell of *[redacted]* on the duvet cover, which was quite disgusting and suggested it hadn't been properly washed or disinfected.

They have a free happy hour every night! 🍷 It's such a treat! Even though the overall environment and service are just so-so, this happy hour really bumps up the rating. There's a plaza right outside the door, and a seaside foot bath just a few minutes' walk away. Breakfast isn't great, but it's still decent value for money.
