The Bull Inn

Overall service was okay but the accommodation side needs upgrading and a proper cleaning to spruce the place up. Staff are respectable and accommodating.

We stayed in room 3 at the bull, the location was fantastic, the downside was the bathroom was across the hall from our room and it was a tiny bathroom that felt it had been shoehorned into an cupboard, it had mould over the walls and celling of the bathroom. The actual room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable.

Nice location close to rail station. Pleasant good service. Clean room. Nice breakfast. No cereal available. Bathroom cramped.

I only booked for one night to break our journey to North Wales from London, so my expectations were not that high, I just wanted a bed for the night. The location was within walking distance from Shrewsbury station, down a small alley off the main shopping street. I didn't realise it would get quite noisy, and there was actually a band playing in the pub the night of our stay - our room was directly above it! So we went to bed late! For some this could've been a disaster, but saw the funny side and at least the band were playing songs I liked, and I travelled with ear plugs so did manage to get to sleep. The room was well equipped, comfortable & clean besides this. I had booked breakfast but due to not realising what time it would start from and having to be on an early train, actually couldn't stay for it. To compensate the lady who checked us in kindly offered to make us lunch instead, so we had some sandwiches, nuts, crisps and snacks from the bar to take with us, which I appreciated, as I was travelling with my young son.

Super location in the centre, excellent & friendly team

A lovely one night stay at The Bull, The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially as I was travelling with my arm in a sling, even to the point of offering to cut my breakfast up so I could eat it 😂😂😂 this was very appreciated! In my room the shower cubicle needed a better clean as there were long hairs from where some one has washed their hair and the bedroom curtains needed blackout blinds in the actual window recesses to block out the street lights, and in the recess, as people could look up from the street and see behind the curtains. Signage or more visible prompts explaining where to go to check in would also be good ! All that having been said I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others needing a short stay in the town.

Wi fi need to be fixed

The Bull in Butcher Row is an iconic piece of Shrewsbury history. It is an old traditional inn. The rooms are small and clean. The staff are exceptional. I would give a hearty recommendation , in particular to, Aggie, Mia and Joe, who showed me the greatest of respect. Apart from a minor hiccough with the heating, which was resolved, my stay was a wonderful experience. Should I return to Shrewsbury I will certainly stay at the Bull in Butcher Row.

after checking in they informed us that they were not doing food after 4pm we had not been informed of this they said it was they only had one chef so we checked out i booked this in november and there was no indication that there was a problem on their website they stated they they were serving food until 9pm if they had contacted me to let me know that they had a problem and were not doing foood i would have cancelled
