One of the finest places we have visited. The hospitality and the attention to detail was excellent. From the moment the vehicle pulled up, to the moment we drove off, the attentiveness of the staff and the approachable and friendly atmosphere made the entire vacation so much better. The property on its own was serene and quiet. Clean and full operative. The suite and plunge pool was spotless. Be aware the water temperature in the pool does drop drastically due to the trees around covering up the sun. A heated pool may have done the trick. Limited views of the Sigiriya rock is possible provided the skies are clear. Trees in the adjoining properties blocks the view but it does not take away too much from the experience. Our Butler Dilanka gave us a fully detailed brief on arrival. This made utilizing our time better, so much more easier. Huge thank you to the staff, You guys were fantastic!

The property is very remote, on a very bumpy dirt road, but you can see Sigiriya Rock from the property. The separate villas are dotted around the water gardens and connected via dirt paths, there is a buggy to take you to the reception, pool and dining areas although sometimes we walked as it isn't very far. The villas are spacious with balconies and are spotless and the bed is so comfortable. There is one restaurant on site where you can have all meals, the food was delicious and large servings. The only negatives are the hotel is not anywhere near a village so you can't go for a stroll to explore Sigiriya village and therefore must eat and drink at the hotel. Also, the pool area is lovely but there is no shade (the umbrellas don't cover the whole of the sunlounges) so it gets very hot. There is a pool bar but the service was poor, if you could find someone to take your drink order, it took ages to then get the drinks. Overall, we loved our stay here though, it was very relaxing, the staff were lovely and the food was great.

We loved our stay at the Water Garden for two nights as part of our honeymoon and were sad to leave! We were given the most beautiful spacious villa with all amenities and more. The best thing about this hotel resort is the wildlife! Wild crocodiles were seen in the waters around our villa (don’t worry it’s safe!), countless peacocks, monkeys, wild elephants nearby and the biggest array of bird life. The sounds when you wake in the morning are stunning, it’s very peaceful and beautiful. The pool was fantastic and the restaurant very accommodating. Special mention to Nipun the butler who was very warm and friendly, so helpful. The buggies to transport around the property are a great idea, very handy and efficient. We wholeheartedly recommend Water Garden!

My husband and I stayed two nights and Facilities, food and the service is exceptional and the villa is quite spacious and the plunge pool was surrounded by a stunning wild life. i highly recommend for anyone who is looking for to spend some quite time in a peaceful environment. And there are lot of leisure activities and so you have plenty of area to wander alone.

This place is pure bliss. If you want to get lost from the world and relax this is your ideal hotel. Consisting of stand alone luxury chalets you can get lost in nature. The staff and service is on point with just the right level of interaction. Both western and Sri Lankan food is prepared to perfection. The pool is directly facing the Sigiriya rock capturing the true bliss of this hotel.

Great villa and service, good food and cocktails. Maybe more sweet choice at breakfast would be appreciated. Nice surroundings and cozy buggy all over the property. So close to Sigiriya: the best place to stay for a couple of nights. Very kind room assistent, Shashika; he helped us with problems with the safety box, the night before leaving!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Water Garden Sigiriya. The location is amazing and the suites are gorgeous. We had our daughter staying with us so the staff had set up a spare bed. The staff were absolutely fabulous - nothing was too much trouble for them. The weather was quite wet while we were there so the staff came to collect us for dinner in a buggy. Lastly, the food was wonderful - including beautiful gluten free options (again, nothing was too much trouble). Only regret was not staying longer!

Beautiful hotel with great staff and services. Fantastic view of the rock and a lovely pool to relax at. Restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced. The room, superior delux, was beautiful and very spacious. I would recommend this hotel.

Fantastic experience from the moment we arrived and were met by our butler Nipal. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with an amazing view of Sigirya & great facilities. The food was outstanding; I have many allergies and the chefs couldn’t have done more and were super careful - so would recommend for anyone with dietary requirements. The service from all the staff couldn’t be faulted and the villas had everything you could possibly need. Lots of wildlife too. The buggy service around the site was greatly appreciated. We were very sad to go and wished we’d booked for longer. A great base for trips but also somewhere to relax and recuperate. If we return to Sri Lanka we’ll definitely stay here again.
