What a fantastic stay. Firstly the hotel has been renovated beautifully our superior room was great with everything you could need for a great stay. Secondly we stayed half board and both breakfast and dinner buffets were spot on. Great selection at both with regional and international cuisine. Third and finally the service levels were exceptional throughout the best I've ever experienced at a hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone whether it be the concierge, a waiter or room service all exceptional. Will 100% return to this hotel

Make sure you avoid rooms at the front where the building work is being done and be aware that the pool is a bit of a walk from reception.

Great location, lovely sized clean well appointed rooms. We had a partial view room which was good, the non view rooms look over a courtyard. Staff very friendly and helpful. Always someone to help in reception- Dervla? Was very helpful. We read other reviews before going and would agree the bathroom screens do not stop the water, why is the shower gel at the other end of bath? So a few irritating/poor design bits. Hairdryer too short to easily use. Sliema itself had a lot of construction going on while we were there, some close to hotel but didn’t spoil our stay. The outdoor pool is run by another company, it’s a fab location but quite a long underground walk but worth it. Gym was good. We didn’t book food but did eat in bar and that was nice. Restaurants aren’t far away and a lovely coffee shop about 2 mins away. Would stay there again, lovely trip

i highly recommend this hotel. me and my girlfriend visited recently for her 29th - it was both our first trip together as a couple as well as our first time in Malta. the location was lovely, a mall right next door and right in front of the sea. you’ve got a long ***** of restaurants and bars at your fingertips too. the room was gorgeous. very clean. very modern. i had a look in the spa and it was also lovely. the pool areas were nice too! (outdoor pool has a bar/restaurant) all the staff were excellent and they accommodated my requests as best as they could. 10/10 would recommend and stay here again.

Lovely stay at the Barceló Fortina hotel. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable and every evening the housekeeping team came to our room to see if we needed anything and to give us chocolates which is a nice touch. The staff were lovely and the facilities including the beach club were great. We were really pleased we chose the Fortina for our break and would definitely return.
