2-Star Hotels in Kinta

I stayed here for two nights. The hostel is located in Ipoh city center, about a ten-minute walk from the core attractions of Old Town (like Concubine Lane and the Clock Tower) and the food streets. The hostel building is a century-old house with English-style wrought iron gates and windows, colorful floor tiles, and wooden stairs that exude a rich sense of history. The rooms have wooden floors, and the beds and duvets are very clean. The facilities meet basic travel needs, including a washer-dryer combo and drying racks, as well as separate male and female shower areas. I particularly appreciated the warm and thoughtful service from the staff, especially the male owner who thoroughly explained the history of Ipoh's development, nearby tourist attractions, and local cuisine. In the morning, there are four free breakfast options to choose from. This hostel is highly recommended, and I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Ipoh.

It was clean and safe. Bed is clean, shower is clean, common area is clean. Just a couple things: 1) wish the compound was smoke/cigarette-free (it was a middle aged local man who smoked in the area next to the pantry, looks like one of you idk); 2) don’t expect to go to bed early 😂 you can go to bed early but theres a bar below so you hear the music, and I was in the female dorm on level 1, lotsa noise coming from the floors above. However, people generally go quiet after, I think the bar closes? Which is 1am. Not sure, I went to bed around 10pm and was in and out of sleep. Overall the place is great.

The location is very good as it the hotel is very near to a lot of eating places and cookies/snacks shops. The deluxe king room that we booked was very comfortable. The reception staff speak English and they are friendly. The only setback was the bathroom. Water tends to flow out to the floor, outside the shower area, making the sink area very wet. If you bathe holding the shower head near the railing area, the water does not flow out. Overall, it's a very pleasant stay at the Host Hotel. :)

I found this place through Xiaohongshu and decided to give it a try. Personally, I feel it might be a little overrated. We chose the room type on the lower floor, and the room felt quite small. For a similar price, there may be other options that offer more space. I also noticed quite a bit of dust in different areas of the room. As someone with a sensitive nose, it wasn’t very friendly for me as I kept sneezing during the stay. The bathroom was fine when it was dry and there wasn’t much smell. However, after taking a shower, there was quite a strong odor that became noticeable and a little uncomfortable. The small courtyard area is nice for photos, but there were ants and quite a lot of spider webs, which made it feel like it hadn’t been cleaned for some time. On the positive side, the dessert and breakfast were very nice. The breakfast portion was generous and the welcome dessert was also lovely. Overall, I hope more attention can be given to cleanliness and maintenance, as it would definitely improve the experience.

I love the interior and the colour .So clean and nice. Lovely.close to town area. The gym dont have air condition but using fans .Pool was good. .Easy to access

Strategy place, industrial style interiors, quite unique, basic equipment are complete However, I doubt the water quality is not that good, the bathroom and toilet should be not covered by half transparency curtain

Okay hotel, located far away from town but just in front of a big shopping mall where you can find everything and anything. There is also a bus stop nearby where you can take a bus to town. The room was too small though and the price difference with the double one is small so if you can better book the double one. This one is okay for one or two nights if you don't mind small enclosures. Facilities are okay for the price.

check in is quick but need an improvement a little bit on customer service from receptionist. nearby had varieties of food like chinese ,indian ,etc . value for money stay

I felt that this is the worst hotel i’ve ever been. I paid RM100 for such a small room. Not functioning aircond. The aircond keep on off after 30 mins or so. And I need to turn it on everytime. I was already so tired travelling from Selangor to Perak. Too tired to wake up from the bed and need to face such problem. The hotel services crew should have check every room air-conditioning function before sell it out to customer. I would have go to cheaper hotel with better environment and space. Just the receiptionist has been treat us well. Price wise, it doesn’t worth every penny. Uncomfortable room. And hear knocking on the wall from different room. And i can hear people outside talking. The location of the hotel is okay. Nearby to some tourist attraction spot. I hope the owner can compensate us for such uncomfortable stay. We sleep in sweat! Keep on waking up. The only reason we people want to stay hotel is to sleep comfortably and rest peacefully. And I couldn’t get both from this hotel. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

The room was clean and the aircond was very cool. Nice , love it 💋
