Good Ol' Days Hotel

I booked this place over a month in advance, and it has a lovely modern-retro vibe, very cozy. The shower and toilet are separate, and it even comes with a Dyson hairdryer. The room feels different from a typical hotel room. On the ground floor is a coffee shop owned by the same person, which closes at 9 PM. You can use your card to enter and exit through the side door. Upon check-in, you get two complimentary Americanos (you can swap them for other drinks by paying the difference). It's very convenient if you're visiting Yeongdo, though it's a bit far from Gwangalli and Haeundae. Little surprises: 1. Toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower caps, etc., are provided. 2. The mini-fridge drinks and snacks are free. 3. A handwritten note and a creative cultural souvenir are gifted. Amenities: Convenience store: Across from the coffee shop. Shopping: Nampo-dong Walking Street, Lotte Department Store, Olive Young, etc. (10-minute walk). Restaurants: Many dining options nearby, and the owner also provides recommendations – check the check-in guide. Minor regrets: 1. The bed frame has sharp corners, and due to its placement, it's easy to accidentally bump into it. You need to be mindful of your walking path. 2. The separate shower room has no place to put clothes. I booked Room 2 this time; I wonder if other room types have a better layout. This place is very relaxing, perfect for a two-day getaway to clear your mind. The owner is also very enthusiastic. Afterwards, you can switch to another hotel in Haeundae or Gwangalli to enjoy the sea, explore attractions, and go shopping.

This hotel is super conveniently located, just a 100-meter walk from Haeundae Beach. The lobby is on the 3rd floor, and there's a convenience store and bakery on the ground floor. Plus, you've got a McDonald's right outside and a Starbucks across the street. Lots of dining and entertainment options nearby, which is great. They have a rooftop pool, and on the 5th floor, there's a gym and laundry facilities. Just a heads up, the laundry is an extra charge, unlike what you might expect in China. The room was generally clean, with a similar decor style to an Atour hotel back home. We booked a room with a side sea view, and it was lovely to relax on the sofa and see the ocean. However, the front desk service wasn't great. They accused us of having cigarette butts in our room, even though none of us smoke. They just made baseless accusations without any proof, so their service definitely needs improvement.

The view is absolutely stunning! You can see the highway with the ocean view, plus Gwangandaegyo Bridge! The room was super clean and the bed was comfortable, though the pillows were a bit soft. The location is quite convenient, with OY department store, Shinsegae, and some delicious pork soup restaurants nearby.

We stayed at this hotel during the BTS concert in Busan, and it was the most budget-friendly option for us. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets were crisp (which made sleeping even more enjoyable). There's a cafeteria on the 1st floor where you can make instant noodles, grab coffee/water/tea, and they also provided tea and coffee sachets in the room. The room has a TV with Korean channels (something for everyone!) and streaming platforms (Netflix, Disney+, etc., but you'll need to use your own account as they're not paid for). We also liked the hotel's location. It's a 30-40 minute walk to Gwangalli Beach (we didn't try taking the bus).

I was satisfied with cleanliness until the last day when I noticed that my sheets had what seemed like dried blood on them. Location is amazing but that’s also why it’s a popular choice for tourists. Getting an elevator from 8-10am and 6-8ish was rough. But loved the location! Service is average, nothing to complain about but nothing exceptional either which is not a bad thing at all. Pleased with the hotel amenities fitness centre but the room amenities seemed like it was setup with just the bare minimum. Would have been nice to have a larger mirror outside the bathroom or even have a light for the small mirror inside the cabinet. Fridge was very small - could not fit takeout containers without turning them sideways. Shampoo, conditioner and body products all seemed pretty cheaply made. Shampoo didn’t even foam up and conditioner felt no different than hand soap. We’re at a different hotel now and after using their products for one night my hair actually seems healthier than when I was back home.

Beautiful condo but service left us wanting. There was a coffee maker that takes pods and we were a party of 6 and we were given 2 pods for duration of stay. Front desk gave use two more with a statement that this was service and we should buy pods at the convenience store. After checking around for more than a day at at lest 6 different stores, including Starbucks, there were none to be found. The last day I went directly to the cleaning staff room and they gladly gave us a box. Pillows were the same shoes. The guy at the front desk sais that even though the advertising said there was a pillow menu that no there wasn't. After my spouse developed a sore neck I again went directly to the cleaning staff who ran up to our room with what we requested. I don't understand the philosophy. Definitely didn't feel welcome.

Hotel ADELA

If you are looking for a stay with a view in Busan, Hotel Adela offers some fantastic visual perks, though it comes with a few logistical ”hurdles”—quite literally, if you end up taking the stairs! Here is a detailed breakdown of what to expect. The Room & Amenities The first thing you’ll notice is the generous room size. Unlike many cramped city hotels, there is plenty of space to move around. The View: The highlight of the stay is undoubtedly the stunning harbor view. Watching the bridge light up at night is a great way to wind down. Comfort: The beds are comfortable and provide a good night’s rest. Condition: While the room is clean, some of the furniture is starting to show its age and feels a bit dated. Facilities: Basic toiletries, drinking water, tea, and coffee are all provided. Note that the toilet and bathtub are in the same space (not separated). Climate Control: Be aware that during winter and early spring, the air conditioning is disabled. If the room gets too warm, you’ll need to crack the window to let the crisp Busan air in. The Elevator Challenge (The Biggest Downside) The most significant drawback is the elevator situation. The hotel only has three elevators, which is insufficient for a building of this size—especially since it is a popular choice for large tour groups from Taiwan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Peak Hours: Between 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, the elevators are perpetually packed. The Struggle: It can be so challenging to catch a lift that I actually had to walk down the stairs from the 15th floor to the lobby. If you have mobility issues or heavy luggage, this is a major factor to consider. Dining & Convenience On-site Eats: There is a Korean Fried Chicken restaurant on the 2nd floor that is definitely worth a try—the taste is quite good! Convenience: A CU convenience store is located right in the lobby, which is incredibly handy for late-night snacks or essentials. Breakfast Tip: I recommend skipping the hotel breakfast package. The restaurant is on the 24th floor, meaning you have to wait for the elevator to go up, and then wait again to get back down to the lobby to start your day. You’ll save money and time by eating at one of the many local spots nearby. Location & Accessibility The location is a strong point for shoppers and explorers: Metro: About a 7–8 minute walk to Nampo Station. Shopping: Very close to Lotte Shopping Mall and the famous Gwangbok-ro Shopping Street. Note: The building is shared with another hotel (North Harbor Hotel), which contributes to the high foot traffic in the lobby and elevators. Hotel Adela is a solid choice if you value a spacious room with a beautiful view and want to stay near the Nampo-dong action. However, the elevator delays are a serious test of patience. If you choose to stay here, try to avoid traveling in and out of the hotel during peak tour group hours! Pack your patience for the lobby wait, and definitely grab some fried chicken on the second floor!

Overall, my stay was terrible. First of all, this place shouldn't even be called a hotel. On Google Maps, people refer to it as an inn, or at best, a guesthouse. We stayed for two nights. On the first day, some of my friends were assigned rooms that had a very strong renovation smell upon entering. They requested to change rooms, but several other rooms had the same issue. The manager's attitude was awful at the time, and they treated my friends as if they were being unreasonable. Secondly, the front desk hours are from 7 AM to 10 PM. After 10 PM, there's no one at the front desk, and you can only call for help. We left our room card inside, so we called the number provided by the front desk, but no one answered for a full two hours. In the end, a Trip.com customer service agent helped us get the room code so we could finally get in. Regarding cleanliness, some of the rooms weren't completely cleaned when we checked in. There were still empty liquor bottles from the previous guest on the balcony. The only thing worth mentioning is the location. This 'hotel' is a 5-minute walk from Haeundae Beach, there's a convenience store right outside, and the night market is also nearby. However, Uber's location services were inaccurate for this place.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful and relaxing stay! It was definitely worth all the research we put into finding this place. It was clean and quiet, and check-in was a breeze. The location was also great, making it easy to get around according to our itinerary. Highly recommend this place for good value-for-money accommodation in Busan!
