Hotell Stella

Uppsala|1.49km from Flogsta
Room is nice and cozy, and hotel layout is unique. Combined shower/toilet design helps save space. Hotel does not have a 24 hour desk, and after hours support is lacking. Hotel has transitioned to a digital key, and mine did not work a few days after check in, at 2 AM. After hours instructions are to dial a special number on the front door keypad which results in a very short time to talk to the after hours support. I was instructed to access the hotel safe to retrieve a digital yellow master key, after multiple redials. The safe was full of physical keys, but no digital keys! My door had no physical keyhole. Repeated calls to after hour support urged me to keep looking for a master key, until I gave up and just slept on a couch in the lobby. When the morning staff arrived at ~06:30, they had to wake up another guest to retrieve the master key from their room. Staff was able to get me a functional key hours later. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel, and more importantly, my flight on my checkout day 2 days later would require me to leave the hotel before the morning staff arrived. I could not trust the hotel to maintain access to my belongings after hours, so I checked out and moved to a hotel with a 24 hour desk (the only reason booked Hotel Stella to begin with was because all others in the area were booked, but an opening came up). The new hotel was comparable price but much nicer for a similar price. Wish they would have had availability to begin with. I requested a refund of my unused nights from Hotel Stella and the owner blamed me for my experience. After multiple rounds of communication, he offered to reimburse me for the night I spent on the couch, but would not excuse me checking out early, calling my reasoning a ”fantasy”. This is a solid hotel, but beware the management!

Radisson Blu Hotel Uppsala

We’d just stayed in six other hotels throughout Scandinavia before ending our journey here, and my goodness, it was like stepping into a palace. Spacious rooms and bathroom, all amenities you’d expect and more (little things like shoe-shine kits and two sizes of water glasses), and views that went on for days. Friendly staff, as well. Proximity to the train station is probably the most important part, though. Literal steps away. This hotel was a very good decision.
Scandic Uplandia

Breakfast is good, free. It is estimated that there is no extra bed, it is suitable for children, because the surrounding area is the center of the city, there is no parking lot, but there are many cars on the side.

Elite Hotel Academia

We stayed one night at the Elite Academia Hotel in Uppsala and received amazing service. We were given a family room (room 514) and our room was spacious and luxurious with a nice view over looking the station. We also ended up taking an additional double room and this was pleasant and comfortable too. The breakfast was very good with a selection of breads and cold cuts. In addition, there was a range of hot food and some fun American waffle irons so you could make your own breakfast waffles. Parking was convenient with spaces both outside the hotel and in an underground car park with a lift that connected directly to the residential floors (parking cost was 220 SEK per night outside the hotel and 250 SEK for the garage). The hotel is also connected to a big Bishops Arms pub which provides a relaxing environment for unwinding at the end of a day. Really enjoyed our stay and hope we can come back one day - we'd love to try Miss Voon skyline restaurant on the top floor too. A great stay and thank you once again to the Front Desk Manager who checked us in on Sunday night, we really appreciated the amazing service you gave us!
Best Western Hotel Svava
4/559 Reviews
The hotel is diagonally across from Uppsala Central Station, the location is very city center, there is a mall downstairs, and life is very convenient. The breakfast offers typical Swedish food and the room comfort is also very good. There are parent-child rooms, one big bed and one foldable double bed; if the big bed room, you can add an extra bed.
Uppsala CityStay Hotel
3.8/519 Reviews
Because the hotels that I usually stay at were fully booked, I ended up at CityStay. There are many positives about the hotel such as central location, low price and cleanliness. But there are also negatives. Bathrooms and showers are shared like a hostel. The breakfast is mostly cold food. The only warm dish, boiled eggs, were undercooked. The rooms are spartanly furnished. If you are just looking for a cheap place to sleep and not spend time in the room it is adequate. Otherwise, spend a few hundred kronor more for a real hotel room somewhere else.
