Stayed four nights on the 3rd visit to VGR. Nice, clean and very comfortable 2nd floor room with full sea view, only separated from the ocean by the (not very busy) road. Comfy beds and a quite large balcony. The roof sun terrace less crowded than expected and a very good breakfast served in the busy roof restaurant. We found the evening buffet on the ground floor better than some other reviewers have indicated; variation and decent quality. Very kind and helpful staff all over. Hotel VGR is no luxury but solid comfort 50 m from the beach. Recommended.

Reception is very welcoming with Gonzalez and Alfonso being very helpful. The comfortable room I had was looking out at the back up to the mountains, nice and cool after a day of sun and quiet apart from binmen visiting at the ungodly hour of 6.30am! Every day! Breakfast is on the rooftop and a lovely clean open area, excellent choice with fresh orange juice maker. Swimming pool area very nice, pool was warm by the afternoon, plenty of loungers on 2 levels. Bar on the rooftop also very good but sometimes had to wait to be served as was ignored for about 10 mins☹️. Samuel was the best barman though, friendly and quick. Dinner.... pretty awful. Down in the dark basement area, no air or light coming in through very high windows. Food is not fresh, tepid not hot and either dried up or swimming in something so you can't see it properly. We decided to eat out after the same food most evenings. The service from Miriam was very efficient and friendly. Overall it is a very good hotel just some fresh cooked food and perhaps dining on the rooftop where breakfast is would help.

A fab location so ask for a sea view room. However, rooms at the back of the hotel have views of spectacular mountains and are so quiet. Ample, easy parking and a few strides to the beach front. Rooms are a good size and have everything that you could want from this grade of hotel. A fridge which only has water on arrival. A balcony with a table, 2 chairs and a retractable wahing line. Tip ..... bring pegs as the island can be windy. Daily room service is generous with towels but bring your own hair conditioner. Lovely staff especially on reception also Samuel and Marion who speak good English. Pool, with towels supplied in the room, and loungers with umbrellas. A glass partition ensures that you have a good view of the sea. A roof top breakfast means that that you have a good view. Freshly squeezed orange juice and an omelette station. Fizz too! The only thing that could be improved at breakfast would be fresh coffee and not machine hot drinks. I do not recommend that you eat at the rooftop cafe .... very disappointing. So, referring back to my title, the only aspect which drags this hotel down is the evening meal. The dining room is a below street level, biege box with green potted plants around the edge. The food (dinner) is below standard. A very limited salad bar or soup which looks unappetising. Main course is awful. Tepid, badly cooked, frozen veg, and I could continue. So eat out folks!

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days and were very pleased with our stay. It is a 3* hotel and facilities reflect the grading. We booked via *********** and received a mountain view room which we were very happy with. It was a very comfortable room with excellent facilities BUT, we would have liked a kettle and coffee making facilities. We opted for the half board as the price was cheap and were pleased with what was offered. It was a pleasure to eat breakfast on the 3rd floor overlooking the sea every morning and the food offered was of a good variety. Dinner was something that we looked forward to. We always enjoyed the salad options which were plentiful as well as the different main courses that were different every day. I particularly enjoyed the pork cheeks which were very tender. Breakfast starts at 8am BUT buses from Valle Gran Rey leave at 8am and the next bus isn't until 12pm. However, if you speak to hotel reception, they will make a note and you can go to breakfast at 7.00am. Not everything will be available but enough to eat and then get out for the early bus. Special shout out to Adela, Miriam and Alexandra who always had a friendly smile and chat with us either at breakfast or dinner. Lovely people! We would stay here again with no hesitation.

Probably the best place to be in the Valle. You have breakfast on the third-floor terrace, you relax and swim on the rooftop pool, you can enjoy a very good and incredibly varied buffet dinner at an unbeatable price, you can go for a swim in the sea just in front of the hotel. And the room with seaview and balcony is very nice, the service is good and very friendly... What else do you need to have a good holiday?

Hotel is well placed right opposite the sandy and pebbly black beach. The seawater is crystal clear. Mountains form the backdrop behind the village. Our room at the back had a lovely view of mango and other fruit trees with a stunning sight of the village and mountains. Sea view rooms look over the car park and road. The pool is delightful. It is kept so clean. The staff are out there cleaning the surrounding surfaces, loungers, tables and the glass walls daily. From the pool, views extend across the bay and mountains. Beach towels are provided for pool and Beach. The room was good value for money with a small fridge, bath and shower. We came on a bed and breakfast basis and breakfast was very good. There was a wide range of choice with fresh coffee from a machine and freshly squeezed orange juice as well as Cava. When we used the bar for drinks or snacks staff were kind and helpful. All the staff team work hard and try to engage in a range of languages. We always tried to speak in Spanish and they were understanding and supportive. We came here as a base for walking and hired a car. We were always able to park either in front of or behind the hotel. Parking is free and unregulated on a first come, first served basis. Everyone at this hotel works hard and tries to make the customer experience the best it can be. The cleaning staff seem to go above and beyond efficiency as a team and were always cheerful and friendly. We were delighted with our experience here for two weeks and would love to return.

Stayed in this hotel February/March 2023 pleasantly surprised it was only classed as 3 Star. Although not boutique class very nice hotel, decor modern , very clean, marble floors stylish decor amazing location with sea and stunning mountain views to front and back. Staff at he hotel very professional and hard working attending to all guests needs, it's a shame they all seem a little unhappy. Samuel and Sonia a bit more pleasant and sociable with guests but all deserved the tip we left they looked after us well and Gonzalez on reception such a delight 😊 . Meals are delicious a fabulous range of choices at breakfast and dinner to suit most. The bar a little understaffed during the day as we were unable to find anyone when we felt like a snack. Valle Gran Ray beautiful place enough shops and eating places to keep you happy a very laid back vibe with interesting individual shops. Seems a popular resort for Germans who were plentiful during our visit all friendly and pleasant. Would thoroughly recommend hotel and resort for peaceful laid back and scenic holiday.

We booked this hotel as part of a TUI package deal. On arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff. We had a room on the first floor with a balcony looking onto the sea which gave a great view. The room was well appointed and very clean. The twin beds were very comfortable and quiet. The buffet choices for Dinner were plentiful and catered for most needs. Breakfast was a range of fresh fruit with a selection of meats and cheeses along with a selection of hot traditional breakfast dishes. The bar was very reasonably priced. The rooftop swimming pool was an excellent place to chill with a number of loungers placed around it for you to enjoy the sun. Also this is a great place for walkers to stay to use as a base to go on the many organised walks in the nearby national park.
