We enjoyed our stay - and were pleased to return to the Montiboli again after many years (though sorry to see that the water feature in the entrance courtyard had gone and the area has been paved over instead). The location of the hotel is superb, with the choice of two beaches either side and two pools. The grounds and garden and staff are excellent and the rooms are spacious. Maintenance is also clearly done to high standards, everything is clean and well kept and the gardens are well looked after. However, the hotel feels rather dated and rather 20th Century e.g. the furniture in the rooms is rather old/out of fashion. A small investment in more premium furniture and fittings would make a HUGE difference. That said, our bed and pillows were excellent! Also, a door on the toilet in our bathroom would have been helpful - as would a vanity mirror in the bathroom. And why dual showers, but only a single basin in the bathroom? As some other reviews have said, the breakfast is not up to 5 star hotel standards - reduce the quantity of the breakfast offering (there is just too much that many people likely do not want) and increase the quality e.g. more premium breakfast cereals and not in individual packets (not very sustainable). Plus Country Store muesli is such a 1970ies brand! Perhaps hotel management should visit some 5 star hotels in other countries to experience their breakfast offering. And the bar on the lobby floor with balcony is a wasted opportunity - use that instead for the restaurant, with open air balcony (at least outside the hotter summer months).

We had the joy of staying in room 33 "Vega" in the Torre Paradis for 3 nights. This is not a cheap hotel, but it is important to note that unlike many hotels in Spain, this is a proper 5* hotel in the grand old sense, and very traditional so made a very nice change from the ultra modern 5* hotels that may do everything well but lack any character or charm. This hotel is spread out over a large area with a multitude of buildings and sections, direct access to two beaches (one is a naturist beach), a great health and pool club, a lovely bar with epic views, a brilliant small pool area also with its own bar and more stunning views and all kinds of rooms and suites. Our arrival at Montiboli was great. The guy on reception came and got all of our luggage from our car & took us on the walk to our room in the Torre Paradis which is on the far side of the hotel...it was a bit of an expedition but this made it feel more exclusive and we knew we had more privacy and a better view and we were not disappointed...if we could wake up to this view every day we would be in paradise and the sunrises (east facing) were spectacular and that's an understatement! The room, while a bit old fashioned had been updated and had all the necessary modern touches and a balcony with the most wonderful views. The bed was super comfy and there was plenty of room to store luggage and clothes as well as a very nice shower and bathroom. Staff at the hotel are superb and all are really friendly, especially the front office and bar teams. We also enjoyed the spa pool and activities in the leisure club. One of the main highlights was breakfast though. Not only was there amazing sunrises to enjoy, but the spread of food was incredible and the quality of everything in particular the freshly made tortillas was outstanding. Overall, one of the best breakfasts I've had in any hotel globally. And the main pool area was glorious...probably helped that it was a bit quieter as it was October but enjoying a bottle of chilled Cava by the poolside was bliss. The hotel also has plentiful free parking spaces across the main road and great access to the main roads nearby (and trains) to get to key places such as Alicante and Villajoyosa with a huge selection of restaurants. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel for a luxurious 5* hotel experience.

We have just returned from our 5th visit to this delightful hotel. Set in a hidden part of the coast between Alicante & Benidorm. This is the only luxury hotel in the Servi group Set high up on a cliff between two unspoilt beaches, the hotel has a wonderful panorama terrace which looks out over a turquoise sea which is clear & refreshing to swim in. You do need beach shoes as La Caleta playa shelves & it’s pebbly but so worth it! The hotel is Moorish in style with lovely gardens beautifully tender & full of scents of roses & herbs. The welcome we receive from all the staff is lovely: they know us well now & we feel valued guests. It would be wrong to pick out any one member they are all friendly & professional but I will mention in Reception Francisco & Jaume. At breakfast the lovely Martina & in Bar Alhambra Laszlo Capalin & Rai have looked after us so beautifully. Lilli in Bar Proa & Alhambra always smiling & helpful. The hotel is beautifully maintained, spotless in every area & the rooms of different types - spacious with very comfortable beds & modern bathrooms. Whatever you eat - breakfast lunch or dinner is excellent. Dinner in Restsurante Emperador is superb quality. & delicious . Bar Alhambra terrace has a good choice of lighter tapas & other options. We look forward to our next visit!

This is our second year here, last year we came in August but we have found it more pleasant this year in September due to the weather is cooler and the hotel isn’t as busy. Our experience has been very luxurious yet again, feeling totally relaxed with magical sea views. Excellent service around the pool bar area , with drinks and food freshly prepared. Breakfast is delicious with a fantastic variety of fresh food and a chef cooking on request I must say I missed seeing Miguel in the main restaurant as his attention to detail was very good, but all the other staff are pleasant and provide a good service. Again the views are breathtaking. I enjoyed the food, tasting different foods each night as I enjoy fish and meat. I requested chips every night for hubby and it wasn’t a problem. Wine menu outstanding choice We stayed in a suite and our maid service has been outstanding clean sheets every day. Which has been appreciated

This is the flagship house of the Servigroup hotel chain, which has more hotels along the Spanish Costas. It fully complies with its five-star rating. The location is unique and wonderful, on top of a rocky cliff near the village of Villajoyosa, halfway between Benidorm and Alicante. Viewing the sunset from your room, from the hotel pool, or even from one of the two beaches is a fantastic experience. The main beach can be reached via a system of escalators and offers basic comforts: sunbeds and sunscreens can be rented, and the beach is stony, somewhat chaotic, and access in the water is quite steep. There is a small but very busy bar/restaurant with some local food that doesn't belong to the hotel. The other beach offers no comfort and is aimed at nudists. Rooms are spacious and offer all the comfort you need for a shorter or longer holiday: super beds, big bathrooms, desk, chairs, balcony, fridge, etc. Hotel staff is helpful and friendly. One of the real pleasures is the restaurant with truly excellent food, great service and reasonable prices. We had the half-board option for a week and that proved super value for money. The hotel has its own parking garage, which can be booked at additional cost. Two minor points of criticism: The room cleaning service is not always satisfactory and attentive. And it is really a pity that the hotel doesn't operate a small service at the beach. But these are really minor points. We had a fantastic holiday in a wonderful place. 10 out of 10, even if it's 99 out of 100.

Fantastic location and amazing views of the Med, sunrise and sunset. Manicured vegetation and well kept external facilities. Staff incredibly helpful and food was excellent (breakfast). Sadly our room still looked like it did in the 70’s, which includes and old and semi-functioning A/C system, old furniture and no USB plugs at all. They remodeled the bathroom and did a great job with it, but I don’t know why they didn’t remodel the whole thing. Having said that, the location, the view and the staff more than make up for the old and very simple room.

This is a really lovely old style hotel in Villajoyosa. We were excited to visit for a relaxing afternoon and evening. Firstly at the spa and then cocktails and dinner at the restaurant. Everything was fine (apart from the lack of changing facilities or amenities, e.g.lack of hairdryer and area)in the spa. The panoramic cocktail terrace was very well attended and the Long Island Iced Tea, was very good. However, at the restaurant (we had booked) the service felt very rushed and unattentive. The table we were seated at was wonderful, with practically a panoramic view of the coastline. We ordered a Lamb dish and a Sea Bass. The lamb was quite frankly terrible! Very undercooked and VERY fatty! Infact inedible! We pointed this out to the waiter (who wasn't particularly interested, he informed us that he would "tell the chef".......). The seabass was ok, although very bland and the "green" sauce was not with flavour. It would have been better if they had offered us a shot or a free coffee to compensate, but this did not happen. We felt the high prices should of represented a high quality of food.....this unfortunately was not the case .We would NOT recommend this restaurant. The Spa however was very pleasant and the location is stunning.

It was an amazing hotel but outdated. The hotel staff were absolutely delightful and provided first class service. I was disappointed with the restaurant menu. Very limited choice and it's the same everyday.
