Gravetye Manor

We booked the set course lunch at Gravetye Manor for a birthday celebration and could not fault it. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted in the car park and escorted to Reception. The atmosphere is lovely overlooking the garden. Each course was beautifully presented and a very nice extensive wine list. Service was good, very attentive and we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch so thank you.

Amazing food set menu for lunch with lots of choice and fabulous service! Beautiful setting with lovely views from the restaurant. This place is really worth a visit we last came 9 years ago and wow what a difference wish we hadn’t left it so longing to Come back! We booked for lunch it wasn’t rushed and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

We've had the most wonderful first stay at this exceptional hotel, where to start! First class service and food, and the best gardens I've e ever seen at a hotel and I've been to quite a few. The whole experience was superb. Only a few thoughts we had a lovely classic room which we liked but for the money we felt the bathroom let it down a bit. The basin plug did not work ad it had not been fitted properly and the shower above the bath was inadequate at this standard of hotel and room I would ecpect much better. That said we had a fantastic stay thank you to all your wonderful staff who made our stay so memorable. We were part of the Henderson group celebrating a 70th birthday.

This place is exceptional! The restaurant is so beautiful and dining here is such a beautiful experience, everything is perfect! We’re never disappointed! They have a really nice bar too, arrive early for pre dinner drinks, you won’t regret it!

Just one word: brilliant! Worth every penny - the highest level of service, superb food and rooms where every need has been thought of. And the garden ....... Just beautiful. We have stayed several times over the last 40 years and the hotel just gets better and better. No more needs to be said!!

This was us, having finally decided to book and get very excited as the time approached . The staff, food, garden, ambiance were just brilliant. It does not need more reviews to get this across , it is just a top, “bucket list” place to go. The Gardens, we were there at Daffodil season, are so refreshing in the “Wild Garden” planning of William Robinson and to just wander round is joyous. Talking to one of Gardeners was so revealing of the attention to detail to produce an all year round garden-visit experience. The whole hotel thing, from the personal greeting as we drove up to the hotel, to the professional manner of every staff member, to the food we had, a taste experience of awesome levels, and a room that could hardly be bettered with a corner view of the garden area, to the Dining Room with its glass fronting on to the garden itself , all made it just the experience you say afterwards” I am so glad we decided to go for it”. Yes it’s not cheap, it’s value for a lot of money to give lots of memories, and photo opportunities as well. Our last comment as we drove out was “ When can we return at another part of the year to see a different seasonal planting display”. JUST DO IT ,

This is unlike anything you have ever experienced before. The manor is absolutely stunning to begin with, with ample space to relax. The room was bright and equally stunning. Comfortable beds, incredible amenities and picturesque scenes from every window. The experience you have is incredibly personal, and the staff are some of the best I have ever experienced in luxury travel. Incredibly attentive, informative and go above and beyond. The food is in a league all on its own. The chef is clearly passionate about good fresh food, and that passion was evident in every single dish. The bar is lovely with a good selection of cocktails and drinks to choose from. The gardens and surrounding space are incredibly serene, and I challenge you not to feel relaxed. We did not want to leave, and wanted to take all the staff home with us! Thank you Gravetye for an amazing weekend.

We have dined at Gravetye several times and it has always been wonderful This time we decided to use their full Hotel facilities and it was worth every penny! From the moment we arrived all the staff we met were charming, professional and made us feel very welcome Our room was beautiful and dinner superb Thank you to everyone and we hope we get the chance to return to be thoroughly spoilt soon

We went today to Gravetye Manor for the fixed price lunch menu. Despite the rain we still had wonderful views of the garden and burgeoning Spring flowers from the dining room windows. We were bemused by the honey butter that came with the bread especially as the following courses were savoury. Overall the amuse bouche came thick and fast and of varying tastiness - some good, some definitely not so and they seemed to outweigh the actual main courses - some tasted of nothing - little scraps of flower petals and microscopic vegetables that might grace a fairies table but barely made a mouthful. The main fish course was underwhelming and the vegetables a joke - not even a whole cauliflower floret - but one tiny tiny section of a floret - again a good amount for a fairy. The other vegetable was a crispy green 'leaf' which could have been sea**** but disappointing for a vegetable - I ate it in my hand like the crisp it was. It came with a beurre blanc and something greyish and soft in a piped coil - absolutely no idea what that was. Worth mentioning was the roaring log fire in the sitting room on arrival with complimentary glass of Nyetimber and the immaculate ladies room.
