Motel Mayfair on Cavell Reviews

Quiet residential area. Room is spacious, clean, and comfortable, with good bed and large bathroom. Free on-site parking is available.

The decor was dated and could do with refreshing...ie curtains, carpet. The fixed heater did not work but there was a portable one that did. The door handle needs to be made more secure. The heater switch above the bathroom door needs to be tidied up. There was no soap in dispenser above the bath but filled to when asked. The pillows provided and spares were all too big for us. The bed was comfortable and the room was very spacious which was good. There was plenty of hanging space and drawers to use. Tv and fridge worked well. The parking spaces were a bit too narrow imo. Despite my pointers I would still recommend The Mayfair if the price is competitive.

It's been converted from a heritage building and you can tell from both the architecture and smell. The room is quite aged but meets basic requirement for a short stay

Look like 2 star hotel. Don't expect any well service.

Very clean and quiet. I was thrilled to have a nice deep bath tub, after days of hiking. Wonderfully comfortable bed, good tv reception. Staff made every effort to ensure my arrival was smooth.

The room is big and fancy, but the location is not far from the city center.

We booked and we were surprised as no photos clearly showed the motel's exterior, the main photo is of Port Arthur historical site. We arrived late so had keys left for us. Some upgrades would be good however the response from the staff was timely, friendly and precise. We had three rooms, everyone was happy, it was for a place to lay our heads for our last night before flying home.

I had no problems. The shower was sometimes hot and sometimes a little cold, but there was a bathtub so I could warm up, which was nice.

The room is in poor hygiene and remote location. The Chinese lady boss is not as friendly as the reviews say. The carpet in the room is very dirty. I asked for it to be cleaned and they said the workers would clean it tomorrow morning after get off work. However, check-out is required at 9am, so I will be facing garbage for the night I stay here. The blanket on the bed is very prickly and there is no soft quilt, so I have to wear something thick to sleep. The worst experience in Tasmania was the one night I stayed here.

The location is near Taroona beach, Tinderbox, Southern Light viewing point, near Mt. Wellington, close to the city. The hotel is quite old. But the room is warm and has towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, microwave and refrigerator. There is no water provided in the room. It is recommended to buy your own food and water. There are tea and coffee bags provided in the room. And there are two packets of biscuits. If you check inlet The hotel will leave the key in a box at the door. Very convenient for people who come late at night.

The room is large, it took a while to renovate, and the furniture is a little old, but it is very clean. It is also equipped with ironing equipment, which is very warm and convenient. The hotel manager is very nice.

Free parking. Good basic motel for the money.
