Langdale Chase Hotel

A stunning hotel, on the shores of Lake Windermere. From the moment I drove in, I was made to feel very welcome by each member of the team. The hotel has been decorated to a very high standard, keeping original features and restoring those that had been removed over the years. The food was outstanding as are the views. Langdale Chase really is relaxed luxury offering a memorable experience.

We were full of excited anticipation for our recent special occasion dinner. The interior of the hotel is spectacular and we had a stunning lake view table in the restaurant. Prior to the meal, we had a drink in the lounge - I hadn’t noticed the bottom of the wine glass was wet and as we sat down, the wine from the bottom dripped onto my trousers, so we didn’t get off to the best start. The food was nice but not exceptional and the waitress mixed up our entrees. At no time between courses did staff approach to ask if we were happy with everything, or offer to top up our water and we had to wait for the next course to order more drinks. Finally, a lovely birthday cake was presented to my husband, together with side plates and cake forks. There was no knife, cake server or an offer from staff to cut it for us so we were left hacking into it with small forks. Overall, a disappointing evening for a high priced meal.
