Woodstock Inn & Resort

We returned to the inn after a six year hiatus and our experience was just fantastic. We stayed in the Mary Rockefeller suite on the third floor and it was gorgeous. We were greeted with “Happy 42nd anniversary” upon check in and were able to access our room early which was a nice surprise! While at the inn, we ate at Richardson’s Tavern, the Red Rooster and the Fairway Grille and every meal (lunch, dinner, breakfast) was excellent. All of our interactions with the staff were exceptional and we look forward to our return.

A much needed short getaway led us to this beautiful part of Vermont known as Woodstock and the old school charm of the Woodstock inn and resort. Once owned by a past employer of mine,Rock Resorts it's in somebody else's capable hands now and has remained tried and true years later. From the friendly interactions with the front desk to the excellent cuisine found at the red rooster dining room and especially the spa located on property this was near perfection. Room was comfortable and clean,free on site parking and free shuttle's any time around town.what's not to like. We'll be back Woodstock!

Yet another fabulous spring getaway to Vermont, with a two-night stay at the Woodstock Inn. Husband and I visited VT late May as a great escape after an extremely hectic month. Our Tavern King room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the fabulous breakfast buffets both days at The Red Rooster. The Inn was decorating the grounds for their first Pride Month celebration and looking lovely. On the way to checking in we took a pretty drive to Lawsons for lunch at brewery. We also got some cool covered bridge pictures. On the second day we really enjoyed our first visit to Billings Farm, a working dairy farm and its cool museum. We ventured out to visit to Simon Pearce in Quechee for a late lunch. After a great meal we were very happy to spend the a few hours at the first Woodstock’s weekly market on the Green of the year. We loved sitting on a bench right across from the inn, listening to local musician and people watching the crowd of families with pets in tow. So much fun! I do appreciate the hospitality extended to us by all the warm and friendly staff we encountered at the Inn throughout the stay. We will definitely return as the Woodstock Inn never disappoints!

Imagine having a wonderful night out with your partner and after a long day of traveling and a delicious dinner (at The Red Rooster) you return to your room and get ready for bed. You turn out the lights, put your head on the pillow and think you feel a bug on your face. You swat it away and feel it again. You reach over, turn the light on, and notice a bunch of little bugs circling the lamp. Then you look up at the ceiling and see the room is infested with them. Hundreds and hundreds of no-see-ums. We jump up from bed and see they are everywhere. On the lamps, on the walls, on the cieling, on the bed! I call the front desk and tell them we have a serious bug problem. We then have to pack up all our belongings and moments later a porter takes us to a new room on the ground floor, across the hall from a family with a crying toddler. Management doesn't bother to call or check in and see if the room is ok. Or it we're ok. Nothing. Not a word. I angrily walk to the front desk to talk to someone and I get a perfunctory apology from the manager. Then some woman from guest services joins the conversation and says to me, eyes closed with a patronizing smile, "It's Vermont". As in, It's the "country", what do you expect? And that was it. We never heard another word from the hotel. Complete and total indifference. So, if you're looking to have a nice night out and then retire to a room crawling with blood-sucking insects, the Woodstock Inn & Resort is your place. It's Vermont, silly! Note: I would have given this place 1 star were it not for the concierge and restaurant staff, all of whom were exceptional.

The Inn is beautiful. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the furniture and bedding is first rate. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The Tavern and Red Rooster are great to dine in. Breakfast buffet is very good. We really enjoyed our time there.

The Hotel was dated, even for being a classic hotel. I am most disappointed in the prices, the food was so overpriced, it was good quality food, but the portions were very small, we left hungry. My husband and I wanted to get massages, but we were very disappointed in the prices of the services. The front desk was very rude as well, I repeated my request multiple times and felt completely ignored. I was told by the concierge of the hotel this was the director? If so that was very disappointing. My sister lived in Woodstock and we have been visiting for years, unfortunately it feels as if the place has gone corporate and is money hungry. Greedy.

My husband and I stayed here Aug. 2-5 and had a really enjoyable stay. The decor in the lobby and throughout the hotel is absolutely beautiful and comfortable (seriously, lots of comfy chairs to rest on). Our room was clean and larger than I expected. The bed was very comfortable. Some reviewers complained about the air conditioning being loud. I personally didn’t think it was. We had no trouble sleeping and it was more like white noise to me. People slamming doors is way more disturbing (not that that happened during our stay, thank goodness). Staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast buffet each morning at the Red Rooster. The food was plentiful and good and the service was excellent. Unfortunately because of family obligations we weren’t able to visit the spa or pool. But based on our experience, if we get back to Vermont we’ll definitely be staying here again!

A lovely resort, beautiful setting and excellent facilities. Large, comfortable room with very comfortable bed. The athletic facilities are top notch and although they're about a mile away, you can request a shuttle any time. Outdoor saltwater pool (right at the inn) is a treat! It was a special experience.

We are so disappointed. Our room was filthy. Crumbs from a prior guest left in the room. Bathroom disgusting. Mildew. Dirty. The breakfast is free but so bad that we are Choosing to eat breakfast elsewhere as it was not good. Yesterday it was pouring and a van was picking us and other guests up. The hotel did not want to allow the van to park under the covered awning (preferable as there was a deluge of rain). This hotel is closer to a holiday inn. Extremely disappointed. This hotek rests on its laurels of years of good will but needs to step it up.
