"The best aspect of this stay was by far the owner. He was incredibly, incredibly helpful and friendly — from the moment I walked in the door he offered me a cup of tea, then provided tea and bread the next morning for breakfast, offered advice on what to see in the area, arranged a car to take me to Dalzong Lake, and finally even found me a spot on a local minibus going to my next destination. I couldn’t have done half the things I did during my stay in Xiahe without his advice and efforts on my behalf, so that alone made staying here fully worthwhile! It’s worth mentioning that the guesthouse’s architecture is also absolutely beautiful, and everything looks quite new. It’s located down a quiet side alley off of one of the main commercial streets in town, which seems like the ideal placement. On the accommodations: I stayed in one of the two tents erected on the second floor of the guesthouse. This was largely quite a good experience! The bed was very comfortable (with a heated pad), water and towels provided, etc. The tents are not in a closed-off area, but rather on the second floor/balcony area that also is used for sitting, serving tea, etc., so privacy is somewhat limited, but the whole guesthouse is relatively quiet anyway so it doesn’t feel like a public space. My only suggestions for improvement would be related to the bathroom: during my stay, the shared bathroom for the tents was a sort of temporary-style booth installed in the corner of the room with a toilet, sink, and showerhead. The bathroom was very clean and everything inside worked well, but its sliding door separated from the wall enough that there was always a substantial enough space on one side or the other that could be seen through (the door also didn’t lock and slid back and forth easily). The booth was also small enough that, realistically, I think it would be a bit of a challenge to actually use it to shower. If possible it might be worth looking into some simple fixes to improve these situations, but otherwise I have no complaints!"

"Conveniently located within walking distance to the labrang monastery (400m) west entrance. They could arrange for transportation around xiahe. Room was clean and spacious , just a little cold as we arrived in end may which makes it difficult to take a shower. Generally, we enjoyed our stay there. As we were staying there for 3 days, we later had to venture out further to try other food varieties. Would prefer if they could arrange for more affordable prices for non native speaking travellers when securing private car hires."

"We arrived quite late, and the owner was still waiting for us at the village entrance. The room was clean and tidy, and the elderly and children all liked it very much. The owner had ******* clothing available for rent for makeup and styling. The owner was very hospitable, and the experience was very good. The cat was also very friendly. It was at the door when we arrived, and it followed us into the room and stayed there. When we washed up, it followed us to the bathroom. The children especially loved it. Before leaving, they specifically asked the owner if he would sell the cat, but he said he didn't sell stray cats, which was a pity. When the children got home, they said they missed the cat."

"We found this accommodation online, and the environment was excellent. As a family of five, our main goal was to find a spacious place, and the kids absolutely loved the flowers and trees! The bed in this room was huge, perfect for families with babies. The hostess was very nice and welcoming. We'll definitely choose this place again if we come back to Xiahe!"

"The boss is a young couple who are very enthusiastic about introducing nearby attractions and food. They also find us a good parking space. The hotel facilities have everything. Very unique Tibetan-style homestay. There are disposable toilet sets and custom-made toothbrushes and combs. Breakfast is also made by the boss himself. It’s not easy to be busy. I will stay at their house next time."

"Probably the largest hotel in Xiahe. It's a short walk to Labrang Monastery. There's no air conditioning, which might be because it doesn't get hot here in the summer. They said they had floor heating, but it wasn't turn-on yet when we checked in, and it got a bit chilly after the rain. The hotel has a restaurant, and you can order dinner, though I found it a bit pricey – I guess that's common for tourist spots. Breakfast was decent, and the cleanliness was acceptable. Overall, I didn't feel like there were any major downsides."

"I enjoyed my stay in Xiahe and in this hotel. The furnishings and amenities are not new ( in fact the toilet wash basin was detached from its mountings and there was a water drainage issue). There is no climate control but this would be common in places like this @ 3000m altitude where spring/summer temperatures range between 5°C to 15 or 22°C, so it isn't needed. The room boasts a great view of the river, the bed was comfortable, there is a kettle and free water supplied and a strong wifi signal. Labrang monastery is a 20 minute walk and the bus station is 15 minutes away. The best thing about this accommodation though is the attractive restaurant/bar/bistro. I dined and drank there every night. The Lhasa and Shangri-la beers are decent, as are the coffee, the pasta, the potato chips, and.pizza."

"The price/performance ratio is very low, very low... It took half an hour to eat a meal, and the hygiene is also average. There are no screens in the accommodation, the water is extremely unstable and scarce, and it is hot and cold. The scenery outside is okay."
