Xiahe Tangka Homestay
"The luckiest thing about arriving in Xiahe was staying at Master Niangji Hejia's Thangka-themed guesthouse. Upon entering, the landlady greeted us with a smile, serving steaming hot ******* milk tea and ******* bread. The milk tea warmed our hands and hearts, and the bread, with its natural flour aroma, became more flavorful with each chew. The next morning, she even brought us hot rice porridge and bread early in the morning. Being so carefully cared for made me feel right at home. The wooden attic was exquisitely carved, and an old-fashioned radio played songs with a touch of nostalgia; here, time seemed to move at a slower pace. Master Niangji is a third-generation successor of the Thangka painting tradition. He led us into the beautiful wooden house, where the walls and cabinets were covered with Thangka paintings—the red of cinnabar, the green of malachite, the blue of lapis lazuli, and even precious gold powder. Each color came from the depths of the earth, remaining vibrant even after thousands of years. He outlined the lines for us, and we ground the pigments and applied the colors. This process couldn't be rushed; a steady wrist and a calm mind were essential, each stroke a breath of fresh air. We finally understood why Thangka is called "the art of spiritual practice"—it paints the Buddha, but it's actually about cultivating the mind. Teacher Nyangji was always smiling and incredibly patient. He guided and explained Thangka to us until 1 a.m., without the slightest urging or impatience. At that moment, the world suddenly quieted down; there were no car horns, no noise, only the subtle sound of paint spreading on the cloth. We were all dedicated students, with endless questions, admiring the teacher's passion for Thangka, its charm, and the profoundness of ******* culture. He said that his grandfather passed it down to his father, and his father to him; this craft, like a prayer wheel, has been passed down through generations. This guesthouse made us feel at home—not just for a night, but enveloped in sincerity and warmth, making us feel truly happy. I will definitely come again. Tashi Delek."
Xiahe Gesang Yunju Homestay

Dawa Zhuangyuan Homestay
"👍🏾Facilities: The guest rooms are Tibetan-style with exquisite wood finishes and many traditional ethnic decorations. A water dispenser is provided in the room, which is convenient. In addition to underfloor heating, the ******* family has also thoughtfully provided electric heaters. The water heater has ample hot water and a hot air function. 👍🏾Cleanliness: Very clean. From public areas to guest rooms, everything is impeccably tidy. The shower is dry and odor-free. 👍🏾Environment: Located a 3-5 minute drive from Labrang Monastery, this is probably the best guesthouse in the vicinity. It has a large courtyard and is near a stream, making it ideal for walks and recreation. Barbecues and camping are possible in the summer, and tent rooms are also available. Parking is very convenient. 👍🏾Service: Extremely friendly. They proactively called several times before my arrival to prepare my room in advance. Upon arrival, they served hot fruit tea and helped with my luggage. The next morning, I left early for Labrang Monastery (no entrance fee before 8:00 AM), and the receptionist called to inquire and prepare breakfast in advance (hot yak meat and egg noodles, incredibly comforting and delicious 😋). That evening, I also had hot pot at the restaurant, enjoying hand-cut mutton. The owner bought fresh meat from the market that day, which was very delicious and the portions were generous (7 liang/plate), excellent value for money! I highly recommend this place to travelers visiting Labrang Monastery or Sangke Grassland; you'll feel right at home."

ME-LONG B&B
"The room was very clean, and there were disposable towels and bath towels provided, which was very thoughtful. The main street is just outside the alley, making shopping very convenient. Labrang Monastery is only a six or seven-minute walk away, and you can even stargaze in the courtyard at night – fantastic!"
Laboleng Dangyu Shiguang Leisure Vacation Homestay
"The environment is very good, surrounded by a circle of mountains next to it, you can also see the snow-capped mountains, clean than the county, the room is clean and tidy, the boss is very good, the breakfast is very authentic and delicious, I highly recommend this ~"
Shangu Homestay (Yagetang Branch)
"I really loved this hotel and couldn't resist leaving a review. The staff proactively called to offer directions (though it was indeed a bit hard to find). A lovely young lady helped me with my luggage upon arrival. The cat café next door had golden, silver, blue, and tabby cats—perfect for petting! The rooms were also very unique; the family room/triple room was separate, which was very convenient. The decor was also quite distinctive. Aside from the dim lighting at night, everything else was great."
Xiahe Yunduan Wild Luxury Campsite
"The hotel is located on the Sangke Grassland, and the view is simply breathtaking! Our two families stayed in a two-story log cabin. It had a water fountain, was warm, and was very clean! The small terrace outside was perfect for tea and chatting—it was so cozy. The hotel is also very close to Labrang Monastery, making it very convenient to get there and back. Also, I have to give a shout-out to the hotel staff—they were so welcoming and energetic! The fireworks at night were also beautiful! It really added to our trip!"
Yano International Camping Park
"This stay was absolutely perfect! The owner was incredibly generous and exceptionally warm and attentive. The room design was unique, with a cozy and distinctive decor, and everything was spotlessly clean, making our stay incredibly comfortable. The service was thoughtful and meticulous, showing care in every detail. The surrounding area was serene and elegant, with beautiful scenery and a healing, relaxing atmosphere. It's truly a rare and heartwarming stop on any journey. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!"
Jiusheng International Hotel
"Dirty hotel —> My room had a carpet soaked with damp and covered in large stains. The next day, cleaning was minimal. No breakfast for Westerners, no English-speaking staff. This type of hotel should be avoided by Westerners."
Xiahe Sangke Tianjing Camp
"Highly recommended for overnight stay in Sanke Prairie"
