The service at the B&B was very enthusiastic. We arrived very late due to traffic jam on May Day. The girl from the B&B came out to pick us up. The yak beef hotpot was already prepared on the table, and she waited for us to finish eating. We were also given a free upgrade to a suite. The ******* breakfast the next morning was very unique. There was also a cat cafe in the B&B. The barley coffee was both beautiful and delicious. The cats were also very cute, with two very adorable kittens. The baby likes playing with the cat all the time. Thank you for tolerating this naughty child. Before leaving, she gave us handmade sachets and specifically told us to take good care of the children. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Upon arrival, the owner informed us that since our car was parked by the roadside, our luggage would be brought in by tricycle. My family had a few initial concerns, but the moment they stepped into the guesthouse, all their doubts vanished! We were all traveling with young children, and the beds were spacious, comfortable, and spotless. The absolute highlight was the ground floor common area. After dinner, guests would gather there to chat and play cards. This was by far our favorite hotel of the entire Gannan trip. The breakfast the next morning was also very generous. The owner and his wife were incredibly warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate; it rained on the afternoon we arrived, preventing us from relaxing on the third-floor rooftop terrace to enjoy the views.

We absolutely loved our stay at 山古民宿 Shangu Homestay. The room was spacious, well presented in ******* style, and kept wonderfully warm with underfloor heating. The window-side lounge area was so cozy that we didn’t want to leave after three nights. Dinner was a highlight—the ******* hotpot was delicious, with fresh yak meat, vegetables, and noodles. Breakfast included fruit, ******* butter tea, and tsampa, giving us a real taste of local traditions. The host was incredibly welcoming and shared fascinating stories about ******* culture, nomadic life, and even how to make incense. During our stay, it snowed heavily, and our children had a fantastic time playing in the snow with the host. It was not just accommodation, but a cultural journey filled with warmth and unforgettable memories. We encountered a stormy night, and staying in the stargazing room was a fantastic experience! However, the shared bathroom we booked this time wasn't very convenient, so I would recommend booking a room with a private bathroom.

The rooms are bright, clean, and odor-free, and essential high-altitude amenities like warmth and hot water are readily available, ensuring a comfortable stay. The owners are incredibly welcoming and friendly, offering opportunities to chat about local customs and traditions. The simple breakfasts are hearty and delicious. Away from the hustle and bustle, tranquility and comfort await. Slow down here and experience the unique serenity of Tibet – the warmest refuge on any trip.

Incredible stay at the Xicheng Inn. The hotel is very cozy with fascinating decor. I loved spending time in the third-floor library, filled with cultural artifacts, games, and books – you'll never get bored! The hospitality from the hotel staff is also unmatched. I stayed alone but never felt lonely. They take guests on walks around the city to discover ******* culture. I recommend staying here not only for the comfort of the hotel but also for the wonderfully warm atmosphere. 在Xicheng Inn 的入住体验令人难忘。酒店装饰别致温馨，三楼的图书室尤其迷人——里面摆满了文化工艺品、游戏和书籍，待上一整天都不会无聊！酒店员工的待客之道无可挑剔，我虽是独自旅行，却从未感到孤单。他们会带客人漫步古城，领略藏地文化风情。我强烈推荐这里，不仅因为舒适的住宿环境，更因那份宾至如归的温暖氛围。

Hygiene: Because it is a newly opened B&B, there are only the proprietress and her husband, so they are probably too busy, and the beds are not changed in time. Environment: The B&B has just been renovated. The decoration is very ethnic and the environment is very good. Service: The lady boss is very nice. Because I brought Chinese medicine for my children that needed to be refrigerated, she enthusiastically helped me find a refrigerator to store it. She also helped us add a mattress to the room for two. The service was very enthusiastic. Generally speaking, the boss is very nice and the service is very enthusiastic, but the hardware facilities need to be improved. One bathroom is really inconvenient, and the hygiene needs to be improved. Then there is the need to apply for tax invoices, as some guests need invoices.

We rushed directly from Aba to check in near Lapuleng Monastery. This B&B is right opposite the Lapuleng Monastery, which is very convenient for visiting the temple the next day. It's a newly opened B&B and not easy to find. After calling, the owner drove over to show us the way. The disposable toiletries were good. The room was newly renovated, odorless, and very quiet. The owner recommended Jiang Meili Hot Pot nearby, where we had a local specialty yak beef hot pot. The portion was quite large and delicious. 😋 Overall, this B&B is quite good and worth staying in.

The staff and surroundings were excellent. The hotel itself is a mixed bag: a beautiful lobby but the room itself was disappointing: quite dirty, with a desperate need of a renovation. We also received a very dirty towel. The curtains and bed sheets had holes in them.

I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend staying here. The hotel is right next to the entrance of the monastery and most rooms have a nice view of the lively main street and the mountains behind. The rooms also have built-in heating so the room is not cold during the colder months. The bed is very comfortable. Staff doesn’t always speak English but they are very friendly. The hotel is a little bit outdated, but I think it is one of the best places to stay in Xiahe because of the location and it offers everything you need.
