Hotels in Darongshu/Shilihualang Scenic Area, Yangshuo

We had a great stay because of the location we didn't trust much about this hotel before we entered, but surprisingly, the room was very clean, the staff was good and helpful. It was a bit noisy not from the street, but from the neighbors, we traveled during the May holiday, which is a very crowded time. In general, it is a good hotel, very close to the West Street and also surrounded by lots of restaurants.

Our stay at the YiShan YunShui hotel was great! The room itself, and the view that could be enjoyed from there, were simply amazing 😍 (totally corresponding to the pictures on Trip). Mr. Li and all the staff from the reception have been very friendly and helpful. Mr. Li, especially, went to great lengths to help us plan our time in Yangshuo at best, giving us many useful tips and suggestions on places to visit and activities to do. He helped us rent some bikes at a very very good price, and he also helped us buy some delivery food on our last day 🙏🏻 (ps. I speak some Chinese, but a plus for those foreign tourists who do not speak any Chinese is that Mr. Li also speaks English, so no need to worry 😉). The staff also helped us hire a driver to take us to Guilin North Station early in the morning, to make sure that we would have made it for our train to our next destination! Another great perk of this hotel is the in-room washing machine…VERY USEFUL and appreciated. In my opinion, the location of the hotel was also very good: strategically located in a new developing area between the YuLongHe scenic area and Yangshuo downtown (not too far from either of the two). The Chinese breakfast was also very nice 🤗 the staff asked us if it suited our taste, and they told us that they could have provided us some more “western-style alternatives” if needed (but no need for us, as we are not picky and enjoy eating local food 😋). Overall, we 100% recommend this hotel! We had a wonderful experience, and should we ever come back to Yangshuo, we would definitely come here again!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Our family and friends came from Australia to visit us while we are living in China and we went on holiday together to Guangxi province. We had heard about this hotel from other expats, but it was even better than I imagined. I can’t believe it took me nearly 4 years to get here. I hope I get to visit again before we leave. This hotel is perfection - lovely staff, beautiful views, great location, delicious food at restaurant. And all really well priced. Highly highly recommend.

We stayed at Four Seasons Fairyland in Yangshuo and overall had a pleasant experience. Initially, we were checked into a room that wasn’t quite ready — it had an unpleasant smell and didn’t meet cleanliness expectations. However, the hotel handled it very well and upgraded us to a much larger, more comfortable room. The upgrade was a nice gesture, and the room we eventually stayed in was spacious, quiet, and great to come back to after a full day out. The daily breakfast was decent — while the menu doesn’t change much, the variety was fair, and we never left hungry. Waking up to views of the iconic karst mountains of Yangshuo each morning was truly special and made the stay feel grounded in the natural charm of the area. Location-wise, the hotel is conveniently near many key attractions, which made getting around and exploring the area quite easy. One big plus: the staff went above and beyond for us when we had multiple packages arriving from Taobao — helping us coordinate deliveries and pick-ups smoothly. That extra support was really appreciated and speaks to their thoughtful service. A minor downside: the TV in the room didn’t work initially and took a bit of troubleshooting on our own to figure out a fix. The only real disappointment was with the in-house photography experience. While the photographer was skilled and we enjoyed the complimentary 3-photo package, the editor’s attitude left a bad impression. She was impatient and didn’t give us space to decide which photos we wanted to keep or buy. I’d suggest just enjoying the 3 free photos and skipping the upsell unless you really want more. Overall, a solid stay in Yangshuo with great service, beautiful views, and thoughtful touches — just a few things to note depending on what you value during your trip.

The hotel was situation in the most scenic spot in Yangshuo. The staff are really caring and attentive. I didn’t have a local phone number and we communicated throughout using Wechat which worked perfectly. The noodles at breakfast was superb! They delivered daily fruits and night time dessert to our room. Plenty of water and drinks in the room. The 30 minute free photography session was great. The photographer was XiaoMo 小莫。 The 管家 Service was so attentive. 小顾Lynn and 覃西西Xixi thank you for making our stay amazing. We didn’t try their afternoon tea since we were out. The view from the room is unbeatable. We stayed in Block 8. Hotel transfer and pick to West Street was also very helpful.

This B&B was beyond my expectations. First, I didn't expect that at such a cheap price, the room facilities were very complete and the service was very good, and it was very clean. The room was also built against the mountain, and the window of Tianshuo Eye was beautiful. Unfortunately, it rained this time and I didn't experience the free Hanfu rental, and I couldn't take beautiful photos. There were snacks and fruits in the afternoon, desserts in the evening, and you could play with them. The emotional value was very good. In addition, the location is very convenient. It is 3 minutes away from Gongnong Bridge, and many attractions around can be reached by walking. The location is really convenient. Although there are few varieties of breakfast, the millet porridge is very fragrant, and the rice noodles taste very good.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights and our experience exceed our expectations. The rooms were spacious, clean, modern, and had an unbeatable view that was not blocked by any other buildings. The location was also perfect, as we were looking for something outside of the center of Yangshuo, and the hotel was surrounded by small pathways perfect for riding ebikes, and there was no noise in the evenings. The service was also excellent, I can call it true hospitality. The only downside was the noise that started on the last 2 days of our stay- the owner is building an additional floor in the building, and the noise would start from 8am, which is a little bit too early. Overall, I would definitely come back to this hotel and recommend it to my friends and family.

Amazing hotel and stay. The owners are so incredibly sweet and the bed is super comfortable. They helped us to book tickets, brought us to a nearby restaurant because it was raining so hard and helped to book scooters. So much hospitality. I’m recommending it to all my friends that will visit Yangshuo! Thank you :)

It was a shame I had paid for a more expensive room on the 5th floor for a view and the condensation meant I couldn’t see out of the window - there was an issue with the room as the other windows in the hotel didn’t have this issue. The staff were initially hesitant and blamed a window being left open when I arrived, but eventually granted a small discount. There are also cracks in the room which wasn’t great from a construction point of view. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, but was grateful for the kind staff. I wasn’t impressed by the initial reaction of the staff member who I alerted - first he told me it was because it was raining and it would clear (this wasn’t true as none of the other rooms suffered from this issue - see the photos), then he blamed the open window (also irrelevant), next he came into my room without taking off his shoes, and then told me to turn off my air conditioning to get it to clear (again irrelevant). The sealant on the windows was also imperfect so you could see through the sealant to the outside air.

The hotel is surrounded by nature, a little secluded and far off from the main streets. However, e-hailing taxi / Didi are very accessible and convenient. The hotel staff are very friendly and attentive but language barrier may be a challenge if you do not speak Chinese. Best to communicate via WeChat / translation app. The hotel consist of several buildings, with building 3 and 4 being the newest. Restaurant is located in building 1 which you will need to walk over the lawn, slight inconvenient if it’s raining. We had our meals at the hotel a couple of times and the food was good - only Chinese cuisine was served. Breakfast was decent. What we love was that there are several activities throughout the day organised by the hotel to keep the little ones occupied. And there are different play area in each building. If you are looking for peaceful serene stay that is also family friendly, this is the perfect place. Overall, would recommend this place to friends and family.
