PPJQLocated beside the South Entrance to the village and facing the water-body (see photo of hotel with red banners). Unlike most hotels within the village, this hotel has conserved the architecture of the exterior and interior of the over 300 years old structure. It is well maintained with modern amenities and a nice manicured garden filled with bonsai plants. The Chinese breakfast was simple and nice. The menu has a good range of beverages and the food was good at reasonable prices.
The room we stayed was small but cozy. It is within the main building and just outside the room there is a reading lounge. It was quiet and hardly used while we were there.

WWanlishuaiqiFacilities: Smart hotel is very worry-free, the facilities are very new, and the bed is very comfortable.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy
Environment: It is just outside the west gate of Hongcun, and it is convenient to go anywhere, especially to watch the sunrise in the morning.
Service: The service is especially good. I called the boss in advance to pick us up by electric car at the west gate parking lot. We chose not to include breakfast, but the boss said that we did not include breakfast but would send breakfast. The breakfast sent was of many varieties and tasted good. It was very comfortable to eat breakfast in the riverside restaurant. The boss also helped us upgrade the room type. The accommodation experience is very good, cost-effective, and highly recommended.

GGuest UserThe stay at Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was remarkable. Received a call from the host (小李管家) while on the way to confirm my arrival time and needs. She even helped me arrange a driver to pick us up from the Huangshan North train station at a reasonable cost. Driver (李师傅) was friendly and gave us lots of tips while visiting Huangshan and we ended up using his services throughout the 3 days we were there.
When we arrived, 小李管家 was right at the hotel entrance waiting for my for us and checkin into our rooms was a breeze. Rooms were clean with all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. Most impressive was the hotel layout and design which was very artsy and minimalist for a place like Hongcun. It was simply amazing! Me and my family especially loved the lobby and the coziness especially in front of the fireplace during winter.
Hotel Location was within walking distance (200m) to Hongcun Ancient village and around 40mins drive to Huangshan mountain and around 1.5hrs drive to the Huangshan North Station or Tunxi Ancient Street.
Will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and relatives if they are planning to visit Huangshan one day!!!

Because I know that the location is very important, it is close to the village entrance and the location is very good. After I came here, the environment and rooms are very good. I feel more satisfied than the previous ones. The main reason is that the location, environment and price are quite reasonable, and the boss is also very enthusiastic.

AAnonymous UserEnvironment: The B&B is about 10 minutes' walk away from Hongcun. The B&B is in a small courtyard. Overall it is very nice and quiet. I like this environment very much.
Cleanliness: Our family booked a total of 7 rooms. When I stayed here, I felt that the bedding and all places were very clean! I have stayed in very good four- and five-star hotels and many B&Bs. It is no exaggeration to say that this B&B is the cleanest one I have ever stayed in! As soon as you fall asleep, you can tell how clean the bedding is. Later I learned that the owner of the B&B would go to the laundry room every time to urge the laundry people to be more demanding.
Service: Because the road in Hongcun is so narrow that large vehicles cannot enter, there is no way to pick up people. However, the boss pulled a tricycle to help us pick up and drop off our luggage when we went there and when we left. This is still very good. However, there were some minor frictions during the communication, but the boss later apologized. Overall, the service is pretty good. However, during the peak tourist season, there are only two people there, and sometimes the boss cannot be found and we have to wait. This is a slight drawback.

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

CCharlie M DeanZhang Mansion is a peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of the ancient village, its decor and furnishing is fitting with the historic setting but with modern, clean and comfortable amenities. Would definitely stay again and would strongly recommend to others!
Hotel manager was very communicative, but you need to have WeChat. They can communicate in English by message with you.
The rooms were stunning, service was excellent and the communal areas were beautiful and comfortable.
Hotel breakfast was freshly made and they were able to accommodate our requests.
Some of the rooms require ascending steep stairs, so if you have accessibility needs it would be best to inform the hotel in advance. Bedrooms are comfortable and cosy. The addition of the tea ceremony area is brilliant. The mattresses and bedding were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with good pressure hot water.
The hotel also put us in touch with a honest and reliable driver that we used for transfers from the bullet train station as well as a trip to Huang Shan (yellow mountain).

DDaiwangzhangzhangI found out that certain room types at Banyan Tree Huangshan allow pets to stay with us, so I booked it right away. This time I stayed in the Cute Pet Villa. Just like the Self-Drive Villa, the car can be parked at the door of the room, which is very convenient. The room is clean and tidy, and the hotel has a lot of greenery, which is very beautiful, and there are many small animals! The housekeeper Felix responded to messages very promptly, helped us solve many problems, and also gave us an afternoon tea set. It was a very happy stay experience😊

NNatthapimonAmazing hotel like walk through 100 years ago. Staff members were nice and helpful. Dinner and breakfast was great. Unfortunately couldn’t use hot springs and scenically photo voucher from the hotel because our limit of time.
However staying there was the wonderful memories.
Only one point for the room we booked, bath tub location is not practical to use😅.
